This must be the week for bustin' people out. Check out this madness. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Funny how in one breath one can say, "is it true that the AKAs cannot take new members in until 2005? please tell me it's not true," and in the next say they don't really want what you have. Things that make you go hmmm...

Don't get heated, Ideal. Some people like digging their own graves. I said in the last "HC." Some foolishness has been sprouting up like Spring weeds, we can let them bust up our groove here on the Ave. I'm just going to walk away....

I agree with those who say look @ the user name. You can tell, err, that someone who would refer to herself as a playette is obviously lacking in class, breeding, etc.

Some do have to find out the hard way, and if they really want to play, they will check themselves or be checked.

I think one thing we have to remember about these people who come and "show out", disrespect members, question advice or comments of members and refuse to use common sense are one of two things truly confused on the level of discretion and honestly know no better or in most cases under the belief that the internet allows them to "cut the fool". I can rememeber being a Sf on greekchat and sometimes seeing members make comments to Sf's I thought at the time were rude and inappropritae (now I see why as an AKA), and other sf's and I would email eachother like what is her prob she needs to get it together. Notice I said email we would never have broadcasted or questioned behavior in a thread! For those of us who have been on greekchat for a minute (a couple of years) remember when it was out of control. People getting checked left and right asking dumb questions, insulting sorors, etc. The moderators have done an excellent job on regulating these forums that represent the black sororites and fraternities. Now to keep it real, as Cedric the Entertainer would say "I wish one of these sf's would try this foolishness with some sorors in real life" I think these girls dream about all the things they wish they could ask and say and live their dreams out over the web. Sad, but what can you do when someone wants something you have so bad they have to make themselves look like an IDIOT on the web?

i really don't think it is fair for you people to 'bust' out on me. Remember that I am new, to this board and also to the greek world. As I am learning about greek life, I am also learning how the people on this board are ignorant. And trust me, "i really don't want what you have." I am just on this board to see where the AKA heads are at. I see that I am also causing some of you to become upset...:)

Imagine that at your church, there are information brochures in plain sight as well as information in other locations. A girl walks in, past the information, down the center aisle, wearing a hoochie-mamma dress with T&A ALL OVER the place, chewing gum, and suckin' on a chicken bone. Interrupting the preacher during Sunday service, she asks real loudly "Wat dis chuch all about?" How would you feel? How would you reply?

Although my sorority is not a church, it is a sacred place for those of us who have worked hard to get here. Though your username may represent who you are, as soon as you begin inquiring about my sorority, it becomes an unnacceptable representation of ANYONE who wants to be an AKA.

If you had no intention of getting feedback from my sorors, then you should have simply checked the national website for information.

How is it unfair when you have been told repeatedly exactly how this forum is run and pointed to the guide? We expect a certain standard of behavior on this forum and you are not anywhere close to meeting it.

If you choose to continue acting the fool then you will be called out on it, at least until the moderators ban you. It is as simple as that.

First of all not everything in life is fair. ..Are you surprised??? You stepped up to the plate with your tail between your knees and your foot in your mouth so now all we are doing is offering you a drink to wash down that foot :) No one here is asking for your opinion nor do we need it. Besides, if you are not interested in Alpha Kappa Alpha then why are you waisting your time on this board. Worry not about where our heads are be more concerned about where yours isn't.

Sorors, I have a hard time believing that this is even a woman boo:eek: Hmmmmmmm I guess I already went there now didn't I? Too late to erase....Sorors he/she is just trying to ruffle our feathers. Don't give him/her the satisfaction. It's just not worth it.

I haven't been called out numerous times. It was one post and everyone got upset over it. Like I said before I am new to the board and greek life. I stated in an earlier post, that I was not trying to sound disrespectful in anyway and to apologize for my "ignornance" as I am still learning.


I never said I wasn't interested, just exploring options---learning about everything first and what the sorority can do for me , and me for it.

sf, i remember back when folks on this board were getting checked left and right for their inappropriateness. i too wondered why but i realized that the bottom line is that me along with the other interests on this board want what you and the rest of your sorority sisters have, PERIOD. so don't bite the hand that feeds you. this forum and others like it are a luxury and not and expectation. we may not like the way some folks provide us information and advice, but the fact that it is offered is a blessing.

i believe that the moderators have done an excellent job in keeping the forum at a certain level and providing enough information to help new folks navigate this forum effectively. ideal08, some people just don't get it yet. there is a manner in which you do things. this is life. folks want to accomplish things on their own terms but they want to step over other people and be rude to get there and then want to be full of sweetness and light when you call them out on things. other folks simply don't care and wish to start drama--incidentally, i think a full moon is coming up.

like i said earlier, i believe that you and the other moderators do your job's effectively so that there is no need to engage in any type of banter with anyone. forums here are run a certain way--PERIOD, END OF DISCUSSION-if you don't like it, peace out!!!

it's like what prettynpearls said, don't give folks the satisfaction.

Number one...why would anyone over the age of oh, 15, want to refer to themselves as a "cuteazzplayette"? Being your screenname, it is essentially the first impression that others get from you on a messageboard. When I see that kind of screen name, I am really expecting ignorant posts, and it seems this time I was not disappointed.

You know what? I get so tired of when people say "I am new, I didn't know." So what?! I mean, would you go on a job interview and insult the manager because you are "new and didn't know"? When I first go to messageboards or ANYTHING in life (especially if I want to know more about it), I sit back, observe, and do a little background check to see what it was all about. I read GC for months before ever registering because I wanted to get a feel for the people here and see if it was something I vibed with.

That whole "I'm new" thing is really a tool of incompetence if you ask me. People who are more MATURE realize that if you "DON'T KNOW" then it is your responsibility to "FIND OUT" before you make yourself look like an a$$hole.

This is the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority members chat room. They have opened it up for SF's like you and I. They really didn't have to do that. Relax, stop and take a chill pill. Sometimes you just have to be careful in the way you say things. My point, if you want to be a member of a BGLO you have to study, and be respectful. Respect takes you a long way. If something you said was misunderstood, just apologize. Life is too short, especially since you have you location, website etc viewable for others to see.

First off I cannot be believe the blatant disrespect shown by "uglyazzplayette" to the members of this forum. I say this only because I see your behavior on this board as VERY unlady like, and in one word ugly. Someone with respect for themselves as well as their peers, and in some cases elders, would NOT present themselves in such a way. You are not shining a good light on yourself by responding to the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. or the sister friend's in such a way. Which is evident through the responses you have gotten so far. How can you expect to continue on this board with the reputation you have given yourself thus far.
I have been reading the posts on here for a while, and it seems to me that sometimes people think that since it is the internet, it gives them "cyber-balls" and they can be bold. Knowing good and well in their minds that if they weren't sitting comfortable behind their computer screens and their impertinent screen names, that they wouldnt be saying half the things they are right now. Then when they are bold and end up starting something THEN, they are "new","don't understand the rules", and "I'm just trying to learn something". PLEASE don't try to cover up your ignorance with some bullish, and don't think that the people on this board won't be able to tell.
Lastly, I just wanted to say that just because it is the internet don't think you are safe because as PrettyNPearls just showed it is real easy to get called out. Some people will cut those "cyber-balls" off with rusty scissors and hand them to you on a silver platter.
