Sorority Chapter Size and Campus Total...

Yes, I searched and didnt find anything like this:)

Okay, Im just curious about other people's numbers! If youre in a SORORITY and feel like contributing, do so! (I also like seeing people say "Oh yea, campus total is like 300000 and we have 299999" cos were small!)

I am a Phi Sigma Sigma at Clarion U
Actives: about 45
Campus Total: 60

oceanphi01 03-26-2003 09:37 AM

We have about 3,000 total undergrads with about 800 being female. The total here for NPC organizations is 40 and I think both of the organizations are very close to that. I know we are. :-)

ilovemyglo 03-26-2003 10:31 AM

At WKU the total is 95, last I heard AGD was around 55 or 60.

AAgammagirl 03-26-2003 11:09 AM

Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Toronto, Canada, has 31 members and campus total is 45. We're one of the largest sororities on campus!!:D

shadokat 03-26-2003 01:47 PM

At good old Bloomsburg University of PA, campus total is 60, and D Phi E has 47 women. Most organizations have NEVER hit that 60, with 40 being average.

CardinalSM 03-26-2003 05:20 PM

At Mercer, total is 75 and Chi Omega is at 74 right now.

PrincessHeather 03-26-2003 11:43 PM

At CSU Stanislaus total is 35.
Phi Sigma Sigma is at 35.
Two national sororities on campus.

gphiangel624 03-27-2003 02:24 AM

At UC Riverside, total is 70 and Gamma Phi Beta is at 71 or 72 right now. Five of our six chapters are at or above total, and the sixth is extremely close.

Christopher Newport University
undergrad total 5,000
Greek percentage of campus 8%

NPC ceiling 50
Gamma Phi Beta 67
Phi Mu over 50
Alpha Phi around 50
(I'm not sure of the exact numbers of Phi Mu and Alpha Phi...I think Phi Mu is right about where Gamma Phi is, and I think that Alpha Phi has hit ceiling, but I'm not positive of it.)

MTSUKappaDelta 03-27-2003 11:45 PM

Interesting post...

At MTSU, sorority campus total is 80. My chapter of Kappa Delta is right at 100.

The best news to report is that a majority of our chapters at MTSU are at total or just about there! We have a strong Greek Life and we help out all of our sororities with formal recruitment and COB as well!

If you are at total before recruitment starts you are allowed to take quota during recruitment...putting you over total.

DZTUBAGIRL 03-28-2003 09:41 AM

At Morehead State University:

Dont get piussee! That is why I have as A Fraternity Guy always asked this question.

My school is at enrollement of 6700.

There 3 Soros. ASA, AGD, and SSS!

As I understand it according to the Greek School advisor that each Soro is not full for Quota!

Well, My question was why dont you allow more Soroitys on campusd to give diversity? Maybe the students do not like what they see! I started a local, I knew many of the Fraternity men of Chapters on Campus, but wanted something different.

That is the very reason that I started my local.

If there are more Greeks on campus will it begat more more members as we as Greeks can show a larger Front to the Independents?

It should be up to the school, if they are so inclined towards Soroitys to allow more on instead of We dont have Houses full!!

My question again, is why is that?

I do not eat Pablem or grahm Crackers with warm milk, yet!

By the way, there are 6 Fraternitys on Campus with 8-9 % associate and even less with 3 Soroitys.

God How I hate that!

Silverblue 03-28-2003 09:23 PM

Campus-wide Total: 25
National
Kappa Delta Phi NAS: 10(?)
Alpha Sigma Alpha: 8
Delta Zeta: 24(?)
Local
Iota Delta Chi: 24
Tau Omega :-) : 8

One of the largest organizations is concerned because after graduation, they'll be down to 15 members. They want to raise total to 35.
When there are 3 organizations that dont even add up to that number, it isnt fair.
Panhel voted it down.

Wouldn't that hurt them too, to have to try to take THAT many people? Sheesh.

COB to 23, then take quota during recruitment. Ta-da! There are groups that have 25 members in Spring and 15 at the beginning of fall at campuses where total is 50. They COB and do what they can.

Now if everyone was at total, that would be a different story. But not when people are at 1/3 ...

AUDeltaGam 04-06-2003 01:33 AM

Delta Gamma
Delta Sigma Colony (Chapter tommorow!)

CarolinaDG 04-06-2003 10:27 AM

Campus Total:100
DG:80
I think the largest sorority is now at 150.

DaffodilDarling 04-08-2003 01:54 AM

oh... sidenote...
ASA is taking at LEAST 11 new members through an accelerated NME program. They're rebuilding their chapter after 17 women left. It was a surprise at the Panhellenic meeting tonight. I'm happy for them!:) ...but I wish my chapter could do the same!

ASUGPhiB 04-08-2003 04:35 AM

Here at Arizona State..............

I would say average is right around 100.

Gamma Phi here has 101. Other houses have anywhere from 125 - 36.

oh and quota last Fall was 47-48. Can't quite remember. We took quota + 1. Yah for us!!

MooseGirl 04-10-2003 02:09 PM

U of Windsor
Phi Sig:15 (i think...it was up to 21)
Total(set by national):30
quota(set by national):10 (and they got it)

There is 1 other NPC group, but there's no college panhellenic, so no campus wide total...not sure how they're doing either...they were smaller than us, but now i think we're equal

heaz 04-10-2003 04:51 PM

Texas Tech has 11 sororities...I believe the chapter average is around 160 with it varying from about 140 to 180 ish...

heaz 04-10-2003 04:53 PM

our fall pledge class was 65....each yr the numbers grow and Tech's greek system gets stronger..

Wait, how can you have 2 NPC groups on campus and no Panhellenic? I thought when two or more groups were present you HAD to have one. *is confused*
