Kevin Bacon game
Ok, I don't know if this has been done on here yet, but the "name that movie" thread inspired me and I remembered this...
There's this random "game" that I've seen/played, and it started with some movie... Basically, you start with a movie that has Kevin Bacon in it, and then you relate actors from that movie to another movie, and try to relate it back to Kevin Bacon somehow... Example: Apollo 13 (Kevin Bacon was in it)... Tom Hanks was in it, Tom Hanks was also in Forrest Gump, which Robin Wright Penn was in... Robin Wright Penn was in White Oleander, as was Michelle Pfiffer... blah blah blah... so this is what we do... I'll start off with a Kevin Bacon movie, and someone put in another actor/actress, and then we'll continue to relate to another movie, etc, etc etc... get it back to Kevin Bacon! (Tell me if this is confusing...) Ok: Start with "Wild Things" |
We play this all the time on roadtrips, but we name two actors/actress, and then relate them back to each other.
Example: Ed Norton and Ben Affleck Ed Norton was in Fight Club with Brad Pitt Brad Pitt was in Ocean's 11 with Matt Damon Matt Damon was in Good Will Hunting with Ben Affleck |
"Party of Five" (Neve Campbell was in "Wild Things" and "Party of Five")

Kevin Bacon was in Wild Things with Matt Dillon.
Matt Dillon was in The Outsiders with Tom Cruise. Tom Cruise was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon. Did I do it right? :D |
It would go like this:
Kevin Bacon to Diane Lane Kevin Bacon was in wild things with Matt Dillon Matt Dillon was in Outsiders w Diane Lane 2 degrees. Kevin Bacon to Minnie Driver Kevin Bacon was in Apollo 13 w Ed Harris Ed Harris was in Waking the Dead with Billy Crudup Billy Crudup was in Sleepers with Minnie Driver :) |
basically the theory is that you can link all of hollywood to kevin bacon through six degrees or less..but i thought it was the other way around..you name an actor/actress and then link them kevin bacon so you would say:
minnie driver: minnie driver was in sleepers w/billy crudup billy crudup was in waking the dead with ed harris ed harris was in apollo 13 with kevin bacon.. |

I met Cuba Gooding Jr in a bar in Charleston in November while he was here filming a movie called The Radio Does that count?? ;) |
alright..we've discussed the actual logistics of the game..but no one has actually started a round..so i'll go first :)

You guys are awesome... and I think you're great amycat! yeah, there's like a hundred ways to play it. I was thinking more along the lines of a word association game... Like, going off of the last one mentioned, Tobey Maguire, I would say someone like Charlize Theron (Cider House Rules), then someone else would do the next one (take someone else from Cider House Rules and give the movie name they were also in)... etc, etc etc... but I dont care, you guys can do the 6 degrees thing too!
