What Would You Do With An Extra Party Room?

Our house has an extra room that we're looking to use for entertainment. It's only about 20x14' (estimate) so its not the biggest.

We have thought about a new pool table but there's not enough room to make playing fun. Another idea we've got is construct a big ball pit. :D

Any other ideas?

Build a bar, have a card table..

AGDPrincess70 03-17-2003 07:46 PM

I'm for the big ball pit :D

Kevlar281 03-17-2003 08:04 PM

Hot Tub

FuzzieAlum 03-17-2003 08:39 PM

"The brothers look unhappy - add more balls."

Ping pong? Giant screen TV and video game systems?

Dianne 03-17-2003 09:04 PM

I'm for the bar and card table. Maybe a beer pong table???

And definitely a good stereo system.

josh8o 03-17-2003 11:20 PM

dude---go for the bar. i would love to have an extra room in th ehouse for a "brothers only bar" or to use for parties

suggestions

build a bar, a vip only room, beer pong table (im partial to this), but a bar could also be nice.

shultzz 03-18-2003 02:23 PM

Build a ring for dog fights or cock fighting.

sigmagrrl 03-18-2003 04:17 PM

I find pool, fooseball, and most table top games boring. I say hot tub, bar, and some really nice couches. Flat screen TV, entertainment area, X-boxes or Playstation2, stuff like that. But, that's with an unlimited budget, of course :D

I would make it movie theater, personally, with nice recliners, bar, and a HUGE flat screen TV.

boo. You know what happened to the SigEps at Wake Forest and the pig? Even though that turned out to be overblown, you'd be crucified in the press and probably lose your charter. I can't think of a worse (in terms of cruelty and in PR) idea.:( :(

oh yeah... not to mention... ILLEGAL!

Illegal except for in Louisana and another state -- and until very recently Oklahoma.

When I was in Hawaii, OohTeenyWahini took me to a cock fight in her back yard. I think cock fighting would be a great fundraiser.

He is looking for something to do with a party room in a fraternity house.........lets face it, its already going to be a cock fight.......or at least blocking. Just kidding, it was too easy, it had to be said.

But how about an alumni room, with a bar and ask your alums to donate different things to make it more meaningful to your chapter.

What a great example of class demonstrated by one of our favorite members. Get a life and if you want to say something mean why don't you use your real name?

RELAX!!

Wooooo...What is up with all the fiestiness lately, not only on this thread but several others. I think maybe some people are little too stressed out right now....

Let's all take a deep breath....and turning the party room into a cock fighting ring was probably just a joke. No need to take everything so seriously! :p Remember what a joke is?

I know it's getting down to the wire in the school year, but everyone needs to LIGHTEN UP!! :D

bruinaphi 03-19-2003 09:33 PM

It's not the cock fighting comment that is an issue. It's making derogatory comments about another member of this community that's an issue.

breathesgelatin 03-19-2003 10:04 PM

I'm hope that I'm not the one lauradav is referring to for making derogatory comments... I didn't mean to insult anyone. To respond to Dianne, I realize that he may have meant it as a joke, but personally, I don't find cruelty to animals to be a joke. Anyone who has ever seen dogs or roosters that have been involved in fights (which I have) knows how hurtful and mean this practice is. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for eating meat, but cockfighting and dogfighting, IMHO, are unnecessary and cruel. To me, joking about them is akin to joking about child abuse, racism, or any other wrong--just not acceptable.

I'm not apologizing for my comments, but I'm not trying to attack any other GC member, either. I know a thing or two about shultzz, methinks.

Build a bar!! The Kappa Sigs at my school recently did this with an extra little room they had and it worked out really well. :D

Little E 03-20-2003 12:56 AM

I think the bar is a good idea...but why do you suddenly have this room? is it connected to your main party areas? if so it would be way convienent and you could also have better control over who has access tothe bar. if you make it a bar, put built in cabinents, with locks, there was a house here, that didn't have the liquor (donated of course...) locked up well enough and other people broke into the cheap ass doors and got all the liquor. If it is an old dorm room, it might not be a good bar (but a decent or sexile room) or something, make sure it fits with what ever is around it. get good tables. you can't play quarters ona bad table or moosey moose. and chairs that wash off. :)

Peaches-n-Cream 03-20-2003 01:38 AM

A study room. :p
A media theater room with a big screen tv!

JerzeeBoy26 03-20-2003 04:30 AM

this room should not be wasted on something that does not involve alcohol. that said, go for the beer pong table. this is cheap, easy and dare I say....necessary!

everyone wins when you're playin pong

KuThetaChi 03-20-2003 09:58 AM

VIP.... all the way just brothers and girls.... to many random guys find their way to our parties it would be nice to have a room they couldn't get near...

You are not the one I was referring to. Shultzz was.

miniZeta 03-23-2003 03:50 AM

party room

DUDE! Make it a bar. That way you can:
A) have more space for parties so people aren't spilling everywhere, OR
B) have more space to fit more people at your parties.

Or you can always make it into a TV lounge with a bunch of couches.
