HAHAHA Chargers!

First you lose Rodney Harrison to MY Patriots, now Junior Seau is leaving. How does that taste?

It's funny, everyone here is treating this like someone died. LOL that's the salary cap for you. That what happens when a good athlete plays for a team that starts 6-1 then finishes 7-9. That's what happens when every year your org. acts like it's their year only to choke it all away. And finally, that's what you get when you have maybe 5 loyal fans and the rest come out when they're 5-2 then dissapear when the 9 game losing streak starts.

Do I sound like I'm rubbing it in?

KSig RC 03-15-2003 02:32 AM

hey know what'll be REEEEAAAAALLY funny?

When "your" patriots go a whopping 8-8 again next season, and the chargers make the playoffs - David Boston is a huge pickup, I expect the bolts to have one of the better o's in the league next season.

The pats? HAHAHAHHA

I'll take your David Patton, and raise you a (insert washed-up running back here).

DeltaSigStan 03-15-2003 06:28 AM

Dude, the Chargers are gonna go strong in the first half,. like 6-2, then finish 6-10. At least we HAVE ring, what did the Sparks show when they went? NOTHING but an ass kicking. The Chargers have been hyping themselves for years and have amounted to nothing. We've never hyped ourselves, theyve always surprised people, and we came from no where and won the Super Bowl.
Besides, Junior is taking with him a leadership position, a guy the rest of the team can listen to and rally behind, like Joe MOntana or JOe Namath. Who will take over that role?

dude, i feel ya - i'm not a chargers fan by any stretch of the imagination, and being in Boston when the pats won the big'un was probably the coolest thing i've been around.

As far as "leadership role" - yeah, I hear what you're saying, but you just never know who will step in. If the team can use the cap space better, then it's still a good long-term move; today's NFL doesn't really allow you to carry "sentimental value" contracts.

As for the pats next season - until they can find an offensive game that doesn't resemble my high school's, any additions on D don't really impress me. Also, they've added a pass-rushing LB and a SS - are those really the best moves for a team that sucked against the run last year?

True...it would have been good if they could have cashed in on one of those middle linebackers available earlier...but they also had absolutely no outside pass rush, so Colvin's not a bad pickup.

Still though, they are going to get run all over again if they don't find someone to plug in there.

TigerGirl52 03-18-2003 12:46 AM

Hey Stan...met a Patriot today. Jarvis Green. His older sister is my boss and he was in town visiting her. Don't think he's done anything spectacular but I only think he's been on the team for a year.

DeltaSigStan 03-18-2003 12:49 AM

Hehehehe that's good shit girl, hopefully we'll shock the world again, at least we don't start 6-1 and finish 7-9 LIKE SOME TEAM I KNOW. The Sparks always seem to get caaked in the pooper in the 2nd half of the season

DeltaSigStan 09-28-2003 07:51 PM

BUMP

HAHAHAHAHA Couldn't get it done with a two TD lead with 6 minutes remaining.

Folks, are we looking at a possible UNDEFEATED season for the Bolts? History guys, history! Don't mess it up like you did that one year when you could have gone 0-16 but just HAD to beat KC.

navane 09-28-2003 08:51 PM

Dude, what's your beef eh??? Why can't you just give props to your team without having to majorly dog mine? I support the Chargers regardless of the season they're having. Even though I can't stand the Raiders, I have enough class not to totally go off on some kind of trip. I've been listening to you rip the bolts for over a year now and I just don't get it. I can take good-natured ribbing, but you're just being downright awful and mean. Are you sore because your hometown team isn't a perennial winner? Are you angry because you've had to go out and put effort into finding whichever team's a winner currently? I've got news for you, life is full of change. The Cowboys and the Bears (Da Bears!! :) ) were good once and look what happened to them....

So what if Seau left? Yeah, we'll miss the guy...why is that so wrong?

At any rate, like happens to most teams at one point or another, one season the Chargers will come back full strength, take AFC and go to the big dance again...oooh and maybe even win. And when that happens, I hope everyone on GC remembers who was standing firm with the team in the face of your endless, mean-spirited taunts.

I'm not trying to pick a fight with you but, come on man, from one San Diegan to another, what's the deal with your hatred?

I'm also a San Diegan who supports the locals win or lose. In fact, I'm watching the end of the Padres at the Q.

hahaha...yeah, I know! Funny enough, I was just wondering if you were going to see this thread or not. :)

My dad, sister and our friend were at the Q for the Pads last night - they just *had* to get in their last opportunities to go to a game before the big switch. My sister and her friend are big fans of the team, though, I think my sister is pretty much a huge fan of Klesko ehehehehehehe. ;)

It's surreal. I think I've been to one game in my life at the Q. Maybe I will go to Petco once the hype dies down.:)

What are you talking about man? I'm pulling for them. They have another shot at a perfect season, and I hope they see it out through till the end.

I'm another local supporting her team...win or lose. We may not win every game, or go to the Super Bowl/World Series every year, but our team goes out there and plays their hearts out every game.

Loved seeing both the last night game AND last home game at Qualcomm Stadium....bring on Petco Park! (And I cried when Mike Darr's son was carried onto the field by Nevin and Matthews, Jr as one of the players who've played at the Q during it's history).

Now, to root on the Chargers.....and as much as I love Seau, Miami's not doing so hot this year, either. :p

I didn't cry when I saw Mike Darr's little guy, but it was cute.

Wow, yeah, this 0-4 charger team is definitely gonna make the playoffs. Damn, I guess getting David Boston doesn't matter when the team themselves suspended him .

well, i was right about the pats . . .

Turns out being a huge douche bag trumps being possibly the most physically gifted receiver in the game - "david boston, I hope you live to see 30 years old" (-Mean Joe Green)

The bolts suck, and badly

ETA: Stan, I just wanted to remind you one more time: the Pats suck ass as well. Cutting Lawyer Milloy is the bad-karma move of the decade, and CMGI may actually sink into the earth as a result. You should head out to boston though, they're holding open tryouts for tailback

I won't deny that they're not doing well this season...I think anyone who follows football can see that. I think part of the problem is that they really have not played together as a team yet this year (preseason and regular season) due to fear of injuries....and I don't think Boston is all that, either. He hasn't done anything to show himself as a valuable asset to the team yet.

As for going 0-4, don't count them out yet (not that it's very likely). I seem to remember a 1-4 Jets team that came into San Diego last year and trounced on us, then went on to make it to the playoffs. If the Chargers go to 0-8, then maybe you can count them as out for this season :D

Steeltrap 09-29-2003 11:52 AM

David Boston

Needs to get his isht together. There is no way that a $47 million guy with a diesel build like DB should be suspended and acting a fool. He needs to act like Tony Gwynn, not some prima donna. Trust me, I'm a native San Diegan and I know this.

Imthachamp 09-29-2003 01:11 PM

boston and peerless price are the biggest disappointments this season.

that's his problem, he needs to stop working out. He's too damn big and will NEVER be a worthwhile receiver again until he does. It's football not body building.

Is Peerless a disappointment, however, because he doesn't have No. 7, Michael Vick, throwing to him?

did you see what randy moss did to the niners yesterday? he caught 3 touchdown passes from a backup QB. so no...i dont think it has much to do with the qb.

peerless just cant get open. he is not a very good wr.

and david boston is an excellent reciever and his body makes him that much dangerous. he is a beast and he could easily be one of the top 5 WR's in the league. it's not his body, it's his lack of heart.

actually his body size makes him slower and unable to run the crisp routes he was running just a couple years ago. So, actually he is less dangerous now than he used to be when he was argueably the best wideout in the pros. That was also part of the reason he was suspended. The team's strength coach made a comment to him he didn't like. Terrell Owens is a big as you want to be at that position, any bigger and your effectiveness declines.

wreckingcrew 09-29-2003 05:53 PM

First thing.

I want to bow down in observance of the size of Dom Capers cojones. The man has the biggest nuts in Texas for going for that TD with 0:02.

The Texans may not win a lot of games this year, but that move by Capers ensured that he'll be around for a while and hopefully will inspire Houston in the future.

Second thing.

Lets Go

Broncos!

Lets go Broncos, Lets go!!

That is all.

Kitso
KS 361 yards Jake Plummer had against Detroit, even though it was a squeaker

KITSO, $10.00 on the Chefs! Shouldnt tho as they are due to lose but not to the Denver Nags!

dude,

CBS cut to coverage of it. I kept going, "come on dom, kick the FG" and he kept going for it. When he sent Carr back in with :02 on the clock i was like, holy shit, this guy's got brass balls.

And i'll agree about Carr. I'm glad he was Houston's first pick, cuz i think with some weapons the guy has the potential to be a great QB.

I seriously thought that was the sickest play of the year so far. It was like schoolyard ball - "if you can't get six inches, why play the game?"

I loved it.

DeltaSigStan 10-05-2003 07:07 PM

Ok honestly, on paper, this is not a bad team. Drew Brees is improving, and LT is one of the best young running backs in the league.

However, like the "Commitment to Excellence" that the Raiders have, the "Aura" of The Sparks always manages to turn "This is our year, this is the year we turn everything around" to "Well, can we at least shoot for 7-9?"

That Aura? Well, it brings back huge plays that they make because of idiotic penalties they commit (8 a game, and I notice they always get penalized after a GREAT play), and lets them choke two touchdown leads with six minutes left.

But, I always give them the benefit of the doubt, but at some point, they always manage to turn their season around to what they normally do.

DeltaSigStan 10-19-2003 04:47 PM

Well, I guess all good things come to an end.

Thanks for ruining a perfect season guys...I hope going from a great 0-16 team to just another 4-12 feels good.

Cleveland now joins Kansas City as my two hated football teams (aside from the AFC East).....thanks for ruining both of the Bolt's quest for history (Remember when they were 0-11 and the Chiefs screwed it up?)

On the bright side, welcome to SOLE posession of first place in the AFC East, my surprising Patriots. Tom Brady to Troy Brown......gotta love it

Thanks to the Miami grounds crew for leaving the dirt in and allowing the Miami kicker to miss two attempts in OT.

You were in the Dawg Pound too? That was an AWFUL game...but if there was one good thing about it, it's the return of Kelly Holcomb. That and watching the drunken she-mullet do a handstand.

You'll know you're really a Clevelander when you start celebrating the small stuff...like tailgating at 8 AM for night games, clear doppler 3 radar...and then there was that whole thing where we beat the Steelers. :D

I think it was Section 120, Row 33 or 34. It was all good until the end of the 3rd quarter when the sun started pounding on us!

We started tailgating pretty early as well, lol. What the hell else is there to do besides drink? :)
