Where are you growing!
I am curious as to where your GLO is expanding to! Delta Upsilon currently has three colonies: University of Michigan, North Carolina State University and Arizona State University. Interest groups include DePaul University and McGill University. Unofficial interest groups include University of Delaware and Oklahoma State University. Potential future sights include Syracuse University, Rutgers, Ripon College and University of the Pacific among other possibilities.

Delta Zeta expanded to University of Hartford, University of Florida and Cal State - Northridge last year. There is another chapter that will be re-colonizing, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say where yet! As for interest groups or potential sites, I'm not in the loop on that!

We are chartering shortly at the University of South Florida!
|
we've been bouncing around everywhere!
So far this year we've colonized at Wright State in Ohio, Arizona State U, University of the South (or something, can't get it right) in Sewanee (maybe called Sewanee state???) and have a few other presentations going on right now. We're pretty random- here there and everywhere! |
Danielle,
University of the South in Sewanee, TN is a BEAUTIFUL campus! My mother grew up in Sewanee... Best of luck! |
We're expanding in a LOT of places... 9 Colonies right now... It's easier if I just give you the URL:
http://www.sigmanu.com/prospectiveme...rrentcolonies/ |
We are colonizing at a lot of small schools, and as usual, they are mostly in the south
We have colonies at: University of Incarnate Word (TX) Clemson (SC) St. Leo University (FL) SUNY-Oneonta (NY) East Carolina University (NC) Schreiner University (TX) And of course...the college that Carnation teaches at...which will remain nameless. I think there are currently 4 or 5 interest groups too! Now if only they would start colonizing in the midwest  XP2k |
We have a new chapter - Iota Delta in Connecticut and a colony at Shawnee State in Portsmouth Ohio (soon to be Iota Epsilon)
|
DU
I dont know how many people you need to start a chapter, but the Delta Upsilon Colony here at ASU only has 14 or so guys...

they only started up a year and half ago. and yes, from what I hear their alums put on a ridiculous captial campaign and remodeled the entire house (or built a new one? not sure on the specifics). they already have over 80 brothers. Most beta colonies usually dont get their charter for 2 years.

D Phi E is expanding as well. We have colonies in Indiana, Texas and Pennsylvania. We chartered at FAU in August and at Schreiner in Texas in January.

Alpha Gamma Delta is proud to announce the installation of its 180th chapter at Chapman University, Orange, California. The Initiation and Chapter Installation will take place March 22, 2003.
Founded in 1861, Chapman University is an independent institution nestled on 60 acres in a suburban area 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles. In the spring of 2002, the College Panhellenic voted to add another NPC group to the existing Greek community. After inviting several NPC groups to present at Chapman University, Alpha Gamma Delta was chosen to join the Chapman Greek community. Alpha Gamma Delta colonized in the fall of 2002, joining Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Gamma, Alpha Phi and Phi Sigma Sigma. I'm so excited! I'm going to be there! :D |
I am going to the chapter rechartering at Oregan State this April. I am stoked, I was really hoping that it would be somehting that I got to do during my undergraduate experience.
|
Arizona state
the actual number of members of the DU Arizona State colony Members stands at 23.
|
Hate to break it to you
Maybe I am wrong, but they have 16 brothers registered with IFC...but thats great if they are at 23. My suitemates both were DU and like 5 other kids on my floor were as well.

Sigma Pi Fraternity currently has 10 active colonies, and there are plans to continue the rapid expansion.
Here are the current colonies: Wisconsin-Madison Arizona State Indiana State Ferris State Old Dominion Texas Tech Penn State at Altoona Radford University Houston Salisbury State As for some of the new colonies they are planning to open in the next few years: University of Oregon, U.C. Santa Barbara, and CSU Chico. The Zeta-Lambda chapter at University of Southern California will also re-colonize in 2004, as the alumni already own a large house on Greek row. |
Kappa Sigma has recently colonized or chartered at the following schools:
Louisiana Tech University John Carrol University Hobart College Ohio Wesleyan University Western Kentucky University Texas A&M / Commerce University of Wyoming Wake Forest University Ball State University USC Spartenburg Let us not rest until the Star and Crescent is the pride of every college and university in the land! - Steven Alonzo Jackson, the Golden-Hearted Virginian. |
The beta colony at UCF is great! i just have to plug them because my big and little brothers are both betas! They just got a "chapter of excellence award." at greek awards last week. From what I understand, they are applying for their charter this summer at convention.

That's great to know. I had heard that they were a pretty strong group. We are represented well in Florida so I'm not that surprised. |

Pi Phi is expanding a lot in the West--this academic year we chartered chapters at University of Colorado-Colorado Springs and Loyola Marymount University in California. |
They actually had one already, its our Epsilon Mu Chapter that's being rechartered.
Their Website is: http://www.ecupikes.cjb.net/ |
Our colonies are listed on this site, easier to post a url. It explains aboiut each one, and there are a few that are re-colonizing(all but 2). SIU was just rechartered, again as Kappa Tet.

I think Chi Phi has a colony at West Virginia University.
Its pretty new (as within the last 8 weeks) so I'm not sure if its even recognized by the university or IFC yet. It is actually a re-chartering of a chapter we closed a while ago. Our nationals recently decided that they would support chapters and colonies whether they had IFC standing or not. Our colony at Clemson is doing an amazing job (without IFC standing...though the university likes them) and our fraternity HQ is so impressed that they are actually building them a new house (they just broke ground on it!). |
