The new Bachelor
 

The new Bachelor was revealed today on Good Morning America. It's Andrew Firestone of the Firestone tire family and boy is he a hottie! I didn't get to watch the entire interview because of class, but he seemed sweet and I will definetly be watching this one.

YAY! I am so excited to watch! He is a total hottie, so this should be fun. :D I'll have to go mark down March 26 on my calendar now so I don't miss the first episode!

I was wondering when they were going to start a new Bachelor. I had not heard a thing!! Well i cant wait!!! ;)

So many people have told me to go on the Bachelor because so many people wonder why I dont have a boyfriend, but I doubt I would even make the cut!

Firestone says he doesn't have trouble meeting women, but in the past his wealth has drawn women who were after him for his money, he said.

"This is a unique opportunity to meet a lot of beautiful women who come into this sincerely … without knowing my last name," Firestone said.

you know that commercial for Tilex? the one with the "firehouse" full of hot sweaty, smelly firemen? I mean its selling mildew remover yet I look forward to seeing it daily......yeah its sad but oh well :)

ha actually there is one....he is 29 never married and stashes all the money he makes from the station and from his second business of landscaping - yeah he isn't hurting! I'll see what I can do ;)

yeah this is sad, but I fell in love with my hubby when he came home from training one day with his bunker pants on and no shirt covered in grease.....ahhhhh hehe

I love firemen, but this firestone man is just as wonderful!!!

Didn't Amycat audition for this one? Does anyone know if she got in? (or Amycat, if you're out there, are you able to say?)

I can tell you for a fact that:
a) Amycat despises reality TV and
b) Amycat has a Mr. Amycat.

So I can tell you, inequivocably, that she ABSOLUTELY did not audition! :D

and i do HATE reality programming with a deep and burning passion.

I think IlovemyGLO applied, not auditioned. And if she did, it wouldn't have been for this Bachelor...but the next one (who I hear is a hottie himself!!)

I'm excited about this one because he seems to have a lot more charisma than the previous Bachelors!!!

And, he drops the "F-bomb" (Firestone) the first day he meets the gals. So, they know about his money the whole time.

Andrew Firestone was on Late Night with Bill Cosby as the host. He is definitely hot and he seems nice. :)

if lil miss ilovemyglo auditioned for the bach...she is SOOOO busted! i remember her saying she WANTED to a while back, but i don't think she actually did....i don't think. gonna have to give that girl a call, i guess. so silly....i wouldn't put it past her at all. :)

Anyone watch last night? He's not my type (well, from the pictures I've seen)....but, I usually don't watch the show until he's down to 4 women...I can't stand the degradation...or the potential catfights!

I wasn't terribly impressed with the first episode. I really don't like the idea of having a millionaire as the bachelor. Come on, if you're all that and you have stacks of money and a winery, why do you NEED to be on the Bachelor? Dude, you should be able to meet people on your own, and I think the show should be for ordinary people...but that's just me. Plus I don't think he's cute, but oh well.

Some of the women didn't make a very good impression on me, but there were a few that I liked, although I can't remember any names. I didn't like that blonde pageant woman who was like 21 but looked 30, or the woman who was sobbing as she was talking about her dad walking her down the aisle. Really?! So many of the women were saying things like "I'm going to meet my future HUSBAND" and "All girls dream of their wedding day" and "I want a ring on my finger." Maybe I'm weird, but do people act like that?! To me, it's bizarre to see women in their early twenties on such a mission to find "the father of my children" as one of them said. If these women chilled out and let things happen in their own course, I bet many of them would have great boyfriends by now.

To your first point -- exactly. Again, if you've got "game" (or $$$), you should be able to pull w/o going on "reality TV." :rolleyes:

My reliable sources of reality TV (aka People and Us ) have stated that the producers sought him out, and not the other way around. Originally, they were trying to get his brother to be on the show, but couldn't for some reason. Maybe he was married? Hmm...don't remember.

yeah, his brother is happily married with 4 kids...

So, his brother told them about Andrew....and the rest is reality TV history..

I liked the guy who won the gold medal better. That's a bit more of an accomplishment than being born into a rich family.

The girl who was crying freaked me out. I wondered for a second if her father was dying or something. What's the big rush? Her and the 30 year old woman seem the most desparate to me.

Is it just me, and I'm not trying to be overly superficial, or are these girls not as pretty as previous Bachelor series'? Surely can't be a dearth of people willing to catfight on TV for a man! :rolleyes:

It's killing me knowing that he was at USD until '98. A mere 20minutes away. Damnit I knew I should have been looking for guys there. The Greek system at USD is pretty major. Anyone know if he's in a fraternity? I can't imagine him not being in one.

Andrew is HOT! As for the women, I agree with Leslie- they dont seem as pretty as the previous ones.

What is it with women that were in beauty pagents before, they look so much older than they really are. For example, lets not forget Christy from season 2 and then this other one that says she is 21?!?!?!

How old is Andrew? Most of the women on the show this season are much younger than before. Is he like 25 or something?

Thank goodness he got rid of Pageant Woman. WHO starts out every sentence with "I've been in pageants my whole life..." OMG, she was AWFUL.

Her name is Shannon, she's the one with the long, red hair. She was Miss Florida USA 2002, that's how I made the connection.
