What's weird about salute your shorts is that I still remember some of the theme song..."We run, we jump, we swim, and play. We often go on trips. But, the thing that lasts forever....is our dear friendships...salute your shorts, we hold you in our hearts, and when we think about you it makes me want to fart"

I used to want to go on that show. :(

Funny that the original host had OCD and his OCD manifested itself in cleanliness.

When I was 7 I became obsessed w/ slime because of Double Dare and You Can't Do That On Television. :eek:

My favorite was "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

Finders Keepers - Short lived game show where they had this house with a ton of stuff in each room, and they would hide something in the room, and you had to trash the room to find it. Definitly underrated and very creative.

and i wouldn't put this on my list, but i can't believe no one has said it: pinwheel.

I used to love Double Dare and You Can't Do that on Television. And, I thought I was the coolest kid in school because I had the same alarm clock as Clarissa on Clarissa Explains it All... lame.

DOes anyone remember the game show "Fun House?" I can't remember if that was on Nick or another channel. However I remember watching it right after Double Dare. They had a host named J.D Roth and it was like this huge obstacle course game show.

Muppet Babies was on Nick for a while too, as well as Muppet Show.

I LOVED Nick when I was little!! My favorites were Eureeka's Castle, Double Dare, You Can't Do That on TV, Clarissa, Muppet Babies, Fraggle Rock, Hey Dude, Wild and Crazy Kids, and What Would you Do? Oh and Ren & Stimpy, Heathcliff, and my perennial favorite--Rugrats!!!

Fun House was not on Nick. It was a syndicated game show. It ran at the same time that Double Dare was in syndication. A lot of networks would run them together, to piggyback off each other. I loved Fun House - I even had the home game. I also had the home version of Double Dare AND Finders Keepers.

I was a HUGE fan of Roundhouse, Clarissa and Ren and Stimpy - the first 90 minutes of the SNICK lineup. I have about 10 6 hour VHS tapes full of those shows.

I would love to see a R&S box set released one day, but I doubt it'll ever happen...too much drama between Nick (and the evil Gerry Labourne) and JohnK (the creator).

I *LOVED* all of those shows, too, but especially Ren and Stimpy. When they showed those on MTV a while ago, I was all about that. It was probably one of their best programming moves ;)

I would buy a box set in a heartbeat!

I definitely spent so much of my time watching Nick that it wasn't even funny!

I find it interesting so many people mentioned Fifteen. I HATED it. Maybe I just was little too young for it at the time it was on, or something. I grew up in the Orlando area, so I always wanted to be the kid who got slimed on the Nickelodeon Studios tour. Never happened. :(

does anyone remember the short lived 'nick hit list'? it was nickelodeon's very own music video count down. i remember when paula abdul's 'rush rush' was on it.


i also like the little bits, eureka's castle, heathcliff, the amanda show, i could go on forever...........

True dat. I thought he was a hottie too...I think I was 12. It's funny how he all of a sudden showed up in an episode of 7th Heaven a few years later.

I too watched Salute Your Shorts and had the biggest crush on that guy Ronnie something...he was the new guy that brought salami to camp and it ended up being confiscated.

Today's special...haha...Muffy the Mouse and Jeff the talking mannequin!

I remember that show but forgot what it was about, care to fill in?

mike o'malley the guy from guts hosted it. it was almost like memory mixed with tic tac toe. there was a screen divided into nine spaces with pictures behind it. the teams had to remember where the pictures were hidden or something like that. i barely remember it myself :)


wait a minute, i do remember another part. there was a puzzle hidden on the screen only revealed by correctly answering a series of questions...

Anyone remember 'inside out boy'? or how about the old nick commericals??? the one for the tootsie pop, the 'skip it' toy, the dum dum pop....

it was Nickelodeon's version of "Sesame Street" ....
(the one w/ the Admiral Bird and Ebeneezer T. Squint!)
it had that annoying theme song... "Pinwheel Pinwheel spinning around. Look at my Pinwheel and see what I've found..."
