who would you be?

Its hard to try to imagine what everyone on GC looks like and how they would act in everyday life. So how about this:
Imagine that we are all in the classroom at school. What student best represents you? Example: for me, I am the one who tries to keep quiet, but every once in awhile, I will ask the teacher a question about something I dont understand. Or I might raise an issue that will get students in a frenzy. Other than that, I try to stay to myself in an effort not to step on anyone's shoes.

Who are you?

Sistermadly 03-02-2003 01:06 PM

The kid who sits in the back of the class with her nose buried in a book, who only looks up to make a smart-aleck remark. :D

librasoul22 03-02-2003 02:21 PM

Depends on the topic of the class...

If the class is boring I will sit in the back and goof off til the class is over.

If it is a topic that interests me, I will be the main one participating in discussions.

I hope there is no one on GC that is the type that always questions the prof, like they know everything about the topic and prof is an idiot. I LOATHE these people.

Hootie 03-02-2003 03:00 PM

I'm the girl that sits in the middle of the class as to not be thought of as a brown noser, but not as someone who doesn't care. I'll actively take part in conversations and ask pertinent questions.

The1calledTKE 03-02-2003 03:18 PM

I am the guy that sits nearest the door so when class ends I can get the heck out of there. I do answer the occasional question to make like I am paying attention.

texas*princess 03-02-2003 03:26 PM

I think this depends on what kind of class it is:

*A class I am interested in: Sit towards the front, take active part in the discussion, and take lots of notes!

*A class I am not too interested in: Sit towards the back, pass a note or two to my friend next to me, read about the LSATs, or doodle where my notes should be.

*A class I know I need to make a good grade in whether I am interested in the class or not : Sit front & center with a shirt that says "I LOVE STATS" (or whatever other class it may be) :p

Damn, you took that one already.................

Depends on the class. If it's something simple like Spanish, I'd be the guy who sits in the middle or the back and basically answer 80% of the questions and brownose the teacher.

If it was something harder for me like Asian studies 420, I'd be zntke

ADPiViolets 03-02-2003 05:06 PM

I am very quiet in class. Everyonce in a while, I will bring up an insightful point in my class, but aside from that I am quiet. Oh! And I also love to argue about issues I feel very strongly about, when they are rised in class (although I never bring them up).

Hmmmmm... Perhaps I am not as quiet as I thought.

Still, I don't really like to talk to people in class all that much.

starang21 03-02-2003 06:05 PM

we got this one cat in class...he's a PHd guy, and the rest of us are master's students. well, this fool always feels the need to ask question, but in a way which is conversational with the prof...like he's your buddy, pal. i really don't care how you like to think, fool...just shut up so we can take notes. did i mention this MAB (he's not a sigma, he's a Mark Ass Buster) annoys the piss out of me?

Dionysus 03-02-2003 07:28 PM

It depends, most importantly I want to blend in.
If everyone is quiet and being serious, I'll do the same. If everyone is goofing off and slacking, I'll do the same.

I VERY seldom take notes or pay attention in class....unless the subject matter is interesting. I spend the largest portion in class SLEEPING.

FiReKraCkEr 03-02-2003 07:57 PM

I would be the one making the teacher and classmates laugh with my funny stories...

Re: who would you be?

I sit in the front of the class, hate to speak up in class, and will only answer a question if nobody in the room knows the answer. I rarely take notes, but do pay attention to the lecture. If I have a question, I will wait until class is over to ask. Oh yes, I'm usually one of the first to be out of the door. My bag is packed a few minutes before class is over. That's me. :)

Optimist Prime 03-02-2003 08:05 PM

I bring up stuff when I get bored with the lecture. But its all relevant. Then I NEVER...EVER follow up, i just start the conversation so I get a break from the boring ass lecture.

**wishing I had THAT shirt back in the summer of 1996 as I sat through Dr. Eimer's STATS class.**

Most classes, I will take notes and listen but if it is a DAC (dry azz course) and a friend is in it, we sit side by side in the back or off to the side and write notes to each other.

If it is a dry azz course and no friend who will write notes with me is in the course, I stare at the clock, make THINGS TO DO LISTS, write letters, write poems, DOODLE the 6 things I know how to draw over and over.

If it is a class that stimulates me orally, I am a talker and will be all up in the discussions.

**missing undergrad**

Peaches-n-Cream 03-02-2003 09:17 PM

I would be in the corner wearing a DUNCE cap! :p

Actually, in grade school when the teachers would ask a question, I would raise my hand. The teacher would say, "Is there anyone besides Cream who knows the answer?" :)

sororitygirl2 03-02-2003 10:17 PM

I would be the girl who walks in with her friends, talking and giggling... we would be the ones in the back who were playing tic-tac-toe and the dot game and making fun of the people who ask all the questions.

Amazingly enough though, we would also be acing the tests and getting better grades than the people who asked all the questions.

If it was a class I didn't have any real good friends in, I would be the girl who was very observant, just taking it all in, and I would only make comments when I had something really important to say.

MeLikey 03-02-2003 10:32 PM

I'm the girl who sits in the middle of the class taking many, many pages of notes-- I have to write down everything or I won't remember it! Freshman and sophomore year I was the girl who nodded off in class, occassionally doing that funny head bop motion... but now that most of my classes are really small discussions, I can't exactly get away with doing that.

White_Chocolate 03-02-2003 10:57 PM

i'm the Greek groupie
i sit in the back of the class with all of the other Greeks
i flirt with every cute guy in class
and by the end of the first month
i've got numbers of all of them
and eventually, i trick them by inviting them as a date to sorority socials
and casually introducing them to the fraternity guys i know
next thing you know, they are rushing a fraternity
and sitting in the back with us

i'm the one person on the first day of class
that people will see around campus later
and talk to me about unclass-related stuff

(example: instead of seeing me and saying, hey did you do your homework, read that chpater, understand the teacher, etc.. . .people say 'you're crazy, girl. you flirt with everyone')

yep, that's me

LaDolceVita03 03-02-2003 11:59 PM

In a class I like, I would be the one taking notes, sitting near the front, and talking to the professor after class.

If the class is boring, I'm the one sitting by the back door waiting for the roll to pass so I can leave, or the one with the prime window/corner seat at the back with all the jocks!!;)

KappaKittyCat 03-03-2003 12:53 AM

I am Hermione Granger.

Cluey 03-03-2003 01:02 AM

I am a lot like sororitygirl2 actually, although, most of my classes were not the typical lecture based sort.

If I was in a class where I didn't know anyone, I would be very quiet and at least act studious.

In classes that I shared with friends, we were very silly. Our goofiness was never malicious, though.

MSSTCY1 03-03-2003 02:44 AM

I'm the student who comes in ten minutes late. I never say anything until one day something comes up that interests me, I lead the discussion, and then thats the last time you'll ever hear me speak again.
