Snow Sucks
Yea, so good ol Pittsburgh got a heck of a lot of snow tonite. Did Clarion? No, we only got about 10 inches. Is that enough to cancel classes? No. Would 8 feet be enough to cancel classes? No. Clarion does not cancel classes. Would 20 feet be enough? No, and if our cars got stuck and we lived 30 min away the would expect us to walk.
Thats it, Im moving to Hawaii! |
Tee hee hee hee...
I saw the weather reports today and some chick was reporting live from somewhere in PA. I'm sorry. Even though your classes aren't cancelled, at least you guys have more opportunity to have classes cancelled for bad weather. We only get off when there's a hurricane or tsunami coming...but that only happens like, once every 10 years. I'll sip an extra maitai on the beach just for you folks, how's that? :D |
LHU cancelled classes for the first time in 4 years. Wahoo! :)
|
Ohio got dumped on too. :(
|
We got over 2 feet here in the DC area (which is a LOT for here), and I am snowed in. I am supposed to be at work today... but alas I cannot get there. I hate snow  Ummm... not that I actually want to work today though :p
|
Parts of NYC had over 2 feet of snow. I stayed indoors all day long.
|
No snow in Texas :P
http://www.weather.com/weather/local...ocalUndeclared Kitso KS 361 + 4 = amount of days out of the year i never wanna leave Texas |
Nearly skipped out on class today to show unity with ya'll. :D
|
Denver has had maybe 6-8 inches of snow all winter. The snowpack in the mountains is 30-40% lower than average. Living in a semi-arid area, that's where all of our water comes from.
No watering our lawns or washing our cars at home this summer if the mountains don't get about 80 more inches between now and April. (They got 8 inches last night). |
KITSO you may never get snow but you also never get snow days :) its like a 24 hour party cuz we're all snowed in together! sleep until the afternoon then start drinking.. one of my friends had vodka in his cheerios.. hehe :) YAY FOR SNOW DAYS (boo for 2.5 feet of snow)
|
I came home to visit my parents for mid-winter break (I teach, so I get the kid holidays!) while my husband is still up in Providence in two feet of snow! Ha! I am SO glad I missed that. I got here in Houston on Friday night and it was 73 degrees!
|
In CT we got around two feet of snow, no classes on Monday and only a half day on Tuesday, yeah snow days mean utter madness up here at UHA, what else is there to do when you are all snowed in together!!

yall shouldve seen the amount of snow that was here in nebraska on saturday morning, i saw some interesting things on the way to work that morning, you know a lot of snow has fallen when a dude plowing a business got his chevy stuck :P
|
Yeah chopper! They didn't plow my apartment complex so my dad had to come pick me up. It wouldn't have been too bad had the snow not drifted behind my car beyond the bumper (and as we know little Geo Prizm's don't go through snow well)! The guy that lives above me parked his car to the side of the garages and it drifted off the roof onto his car. I kid you not, the poor kid had a yard of snow on top of his car...and whatever else was around it.
Thankfully it has been warm enough to melt most of it off the streets (what weren't plowed). I heard that we might get hit again. BLAH! SNOW SUCKS! |
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr to the snow! Snow stopped being cool when you get out of school. Where I live in Maryland, we had over two feet of snow, which is a huge amount for us to get at once. My car was covered completely and I was snowed in at my boyfriend's place for four days!!!! Then when I finally get outta his parking lot and make an attempt to go home, I realize that my neighborhood hasn't been plowed at all! So I park at my old work (like a 10 minute walk from my place) and catch a ride home with a friend. I am not a winter chic...I prefer the beach 100 times more!! Sun, please come quickly and melt all this crap away!!
|
I hate snow.
We got about 2 feet of snow. I didn't bother digging my car out until this morning, although I should have done it yesterday. The rest of my driveway was done, just not around my car. Luckily my little brother had a 2 hour delay for school today so he helped me dig.
We have a snow drift in our yard that's about 6 feet high. That sucker is never going to melt. We'll still have snow in April. |
Is it spring yet? :(

Ice sucks more than the snow. I wanna go back to Texas!
Over here we had plenty of ice...VERY little snow. We had classes cancelled yesterday but it's still all over the parking lots and sidewalks at school. I think that would be a good law suit... |
There are mountains of snow on the sidewalks that are rapidly turning into slush. :( YUCK! I'm sick now, too.

I disagree that ice sucks more than snow. Well it DOES suck more than small amounts of snow, but we're dealing with 2 feet of the stuff in northern VA and it is not fun. It'll take forever to go away, many secondary roads as well as exit ramps to major roads are extremely narrow due to piles of snow covering half the road, and to top it off we're supposed to get a whole bunch of rain this weekend which means flooding! I wish all we got was ice! :( Of course too much ice can be very bad... like a few years ago in my hometown we had a huge ice storm complete with power outages...
|
On Monday there was a freezing blizzard that resulted in 2 feet of snow. Now it is 50 degrees, and there are slush puddles galore. YUCK!

Ok I am SO sick of snow! As if we didn't get enough last week, now we're getting some more!
Every morning, because of last week's snow that would melt during the day and then freeze overnight, there is ice on the parking lots and sidewalks. But, because it's snowing again now, I didn't SEE the ice patches when I left my apartment this morning... and now I've hurt my knee AND ankle :( Sorry, had to vent! Where is spring???? |
I feel everyone's pain. This ice/snow strom we've been dealing with since Monday, has been nothing nice. And my stupid company expects me to come to work. Roads are icy,my car is a solid block of ice, and my company expects me to come to work:rolleyes:
I'm staying home:) |
More snow tonight, but no accumulation. It is freakin' cold! BBBRRRRRR!!!!!!
|
we're getting 2-6 inches tonight. That irks me to no end.
|
A couple of days ago I came out of my house to find that my driveway was a solid sheet of ice. You could have played hockey on it. Unfortunately it was less than cooperative with my car... I had to spend 2 hours pouring salt on it and chipping away at it. And I had put salt down the night before...
Now the weather service can't decide if it's going to snow tomorrow and Friday or not. One moment it's a dusting, the next it's 4-6 inches. I'm supposed to be going on vacation on Friday... if my flight is cancelled I'm gonna be pissed....... |
