Ok kids, I am going to Cancuun the 21st-29th of March . . .

Staying at Club med . . .

Where should I go? Where do I want to hang out?

How much fun can I have, where are all the most promiscious girls?

ZtAngel . . I will be in Mexico when you are . . . come play with us . . .

I will pay half th plane ticket for any girl as pretty as ZTAngel that wants to come down and play lol ;) .

This will be my 13th year going down there, we have a timeshare and I pretty much grew up in Cancun.
Just off the top of my head-
Always pay for all you can drink at clubs. You will save a shitload of $$$ this way. Best value is Dady O's/Dady Rock/Top Dady, three clubs in one. They give you all you can drink for a flat price and don't really expect you to tip. And the club is one of the top 10 in the world.
La Boom is an amazing club, but even if you pay for all you can drink, you still have to tip the bartender at least 20 bucks to get served. Blows to be a guy. Since I'm a chick I don't have that problem but I digress.
Since you're at Club Med a lot will probably be all inclusive.
Senor Frogs is overrated, but if you like more mainstream music and don't want to dress up to go out, that's your place.
Want good food??? Try Captain's Cove for seafood, La Dolce vita for Italian. There are tons and tons of cheaper restaraunts and mall food courts.
La Isla mall and Plaza Caracol are fine malls to eat at- Plaza Flamingo is dirty and will get you sick, guaranteed.

Don't worry about skanky easy girls, thousands of senior spring breakers (high school) go every year and it really won't be a problem. Sorry I know that sounds sick but hey, I'm not stupid. There's also a 'most creative kiss' contest at La Boom that usually turns into lesbian contests. Yikes.

Two years ago I stayed right behind La Boom.


I think La Boom was my favorite place. Things did get a little crazy in that place. A couple of guys from UF went down in G holes. AXJules pretty much hit it all on the money. I hated Senior Frogs. That place sucks. There's a bunch of dirty b!tches for ya, james. I had sex with a couple of chicks from NY on top of the roof of my building. The wierd thing was though, were were'nt the only ones up top doing that. There were actually a lot of people having sex on the roof. I think the fact that there are so many people in 1 room, everyone just leaves to find a place where they can take care of buisness.

a bunch of my sisters went last year, and while i don't know where they went, i do know they had a fantastic time, so have fun!

It is fun, but mostly a "shopping tour", not your typical "booze cruise" which tends to be overrated any way. I remember my favorite club being Daddy O's. A friend and I were taking the bus from where we stayed (Melia Cancun) into the northern part of the peninsula. We ended up missing our exit and landed in the real Cancun, MX. Make sure you don't do that. :p AXJules, I am jealous!! Some friends and I were thinking of heading that way this summer, so we'll see.

I thought Senor Frogs sucked. I liked La Boom, Coco Bongo, Fat Tuesdays, and Pat O'Brien's. The booze cruise that we went on was pretty interesting. One night we ate at OK Maguey, which was fun...the waiter escorted me to the bathroom, lol.

James, if you are looking for promiscious girls head down to the Oasis. That's where a ton of the Spring Break people are at.

AXJules: We ate at another restaurant...I want to say that it was a Columbian steakhouse. If I remember correctly it was in or near the mall. By any chance, can you help me out with the name?

The steakhouse by Dady O's is Argentinian Steaks.....

Pericos is another restaraunt that is so much fun. It's in the REAL cancun and they have midgets for waiters, you do a conga line around the outside of the restaraunt and have to take a tequila shot to get back in! So much fun :)
Yeah I was also gonna say that MTV always films at Fat Tuesday's downtown and last year they were at the Oasis in the hotel zone. Definitely your pick of skanks. :eek: can't believe I just said that.

Also James, when you first arrive in the newly renovated Cancun Airport, they pass out a thing called Cancun Tips, this huge book filled with really valuable coupons. Lotsa good cheap deals in there.

about Isla Mujeres-
God I remember when they were just starting tours over there, no running water, couldn't eat the food, Federales w/machine guns walking the beach.....not fun. Now it's improved a lot, definitely a shopping trip but i think for the half day it takes up you might as well go to Playa Del Carmen or one of the mayan ruins sites. Isla is really really pretty but not really anything you couldn't see in Cancun.

A handful of things.

Is it true you get arrested for having sex on the beach? (BTW, sand friction sucks ass! lol, or so i have been told ;) )

How much and what should I bring to wear (clothes)? too much luggage sucks . . .

I'm going to bring a thousand or two thousand in spending money. Is that enough?

Is it only the skanks looking for casual sex? I thought even nice girls were much more promiscious outside of their area codes and especially out of the country.

Should I bother going on like the tours of ancient civilizations? As a random note. It would be cool to have sex in/on an Aztec temple . . .

I went to Cancun 2 years ago for spring break and it was the craziest time. I thought I was the only one who didn't like Senor Frogs. The night that we had gone there, I had stayed up 2 days straight, so I was pretty dead. I was actually falling asleep while I was there... my friends took a picture of me standing there as my eyes were closing. Needless to say, didn't like it there. I had the best time at Pat O'Brien's Mardi Gras party even though I lost my friends after being there for only a half hour. It didn't matter though because I ended up staying there way after the party ended just meeting random people. My two favorite clubs were La Boom and Coco Bongo. My friends and I wanted to actually do day activities, like go snorkeling or boating, but when it came down to actually setting up stuff, we got lazy and just headed to the beach.

And when you run out of places to go eat, there's always Outback. We stayed at Continental Villas Plaza (Right across from Pat O'Briens and Outback) and ate there after getting sick of the crappy meals from the all-inclusive plan.

As for luggage, I think I managed to fit all my clothes into my carry on bag. I had heard all the horror stories about people's luggage getting lost and didn't want to take the chance of that happening to me. Definitely packing light is the best way to go... besides it will be warm there, you don't need to be wearing THAT much clothes. ;) Have lots of fun and don't drink the water!

Hey, to whoever said don't drink the water....

NOT TRUE!!!! Cancun has a purification plant on site. It is across from the Oasis in the Hotel Zone. A few tourism relation groups tested the water a couple years back and found out it's safer than samples they collected in NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco. Plus, most hotels have their own purification system after that, so it's like triple checked. This water is used all over Cancun so you're fine, unless you go to Isla Mujeres or some areas of Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen.

LOL, I was just going to say the same thing. For most of the week all we heard was "don't drink the water." Come to find out that we were across the street from the purification plant...yes, I stayed at the Oasis, lol. I started drinking from the tap around mid-week but my friends stuck to bottled water. Save your money people!!

did you enjoy staying at the Oasis? That is where I stayed and it was awful! Of course, we didnt know any better- I should have asked people on here! We were hardly ever in the room anyway, but I would never stay there again!

It was okay. We got into an argument with the hotel the minute that we walked in. We had four girls and one king size bed. I got pissed and said that we didn't pay $800 a piece for this trip so somebody could sleep on a cot. One of my sorority sisters ended up throwing a Snickers bar at the guy behind the front desk...such a long story. We were hardly in our room so it really didn't matter much. The beach was very nice but I think I'd look into someplace else if I went back.

Couple funny stories about the Oasis-
All my friends stayed there on our Senior spring break. One night we came home from a club and I opened the door to my friend Peter's room....and it came off in my hand . I actually had a 6 foot tall door in my hand. We were there for 7 more days and it never got fixed. Good thing it was the boys room b/c they weren't modest at all.

Last year a bunch of my friends from home stayed there and we wound up partying in their room. We decided it would be fun to make a foam party by dumping tons of soap in the shower (at the time this seemed like a really good idea :rolleyes: but hey, the Oasis is the kind of place where they don't really care what the hell you do)
Anyway, we were all in the shower jumping around and acting stupid when all of a sudden we hear people cheering. Turns out there was a HUGE hole in the side of the shower that we hadn't noticed and all these people in the hallway were watching us!!! The plaster was knocked away and there was like, clear plexiglass covering the hole (their attempt to fix it) so you could see everything. Thank God we were dressed!! Such a classy establishment.....

Also, a couple years in a row at least one group of my friends got a room without a bed and spent the entire week without anywhere to sleep b/c the hotel refused to bring up a cot.

Well I finally received my Cancun information. We will be staying in the Cancun Marina Club. We depart this Friday afternoon and will be returning Friday night. Anyone know anything about this hotel/area?

Ok, you guys are making me nervous! My boyfriend is going to Cancun with his cousin and two of his friends. I trust him, but it's still a little scary to think he'll be amid all this chaos. He put up with me going to Vegas with my sisters the past three Spring Breaks, so I guess I owe him one. ;) Anyway, it sounds like he'll have a great time...

If you have a risky streak going, you can hop on a plane from Cancun to Havana and back, forbidden fruit for US tourists. (Unless you have a 'license' from the State Department issued well in advance, mere mortals are not legally allowed to visit Cuba, under the Trading with the Enemy Act.) Those who do legally travel to Cuba are limited to only US $100 total of Cuban-made goods.

And yes, you can get Cuban cigars and rum in Cancun but I highly recommend you consume them there. US Customs keeps a sharp eye out for Cancun flights since many sneak on over to Cuba on the side. At the very least, you could watch the Customs agent pour the rum down the drain and crumble up your cigars, at worst, you can get thrown in prison and fined heavily, plus have your name tagged in the TECS (Treasury Enforcement Computer System) -- every time you take a trip overseas, you'll be welcomed back to America by the Roto-Rooter man. You will be searched, questioned, interrogated, the works, just like your everyday garden variety terrorist or drug smuggler suspect.

I'll admit, I've been to Spring break in Mexico, and I have uttered the line, "Whatever happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico". BUT-I was young and in a horrible relationship at the time. Not saying it's right, but...
