Steve, that is great. We just Initiated # 617 at Founders Day this weekend.

Also had @ 60 Alums show, the second largest turnout yet!

Everytime I see The Ritual, I get shivers and the hair on the back of my neck stand up! All of the Aluims said the same thing, glad I was not alone!:)

Mooch279 02-14-2003 12:26 AM

thats awsome!! just wondering what you do in your chapter for a centry brother. here at UMBC (phi delta) we owe our centry brother a case of their favorite beer, and for every centry back add a case.

LXA grits 02-16-2003 07:51 PM

centry?

i hear the word "centry." what does that mean? my chapter at florida southern college (epsilon-xi zeta) doesnt use that term. little help?

EM1843 02-16-2003 11:02 PM

hundred guys before or after you as in 1743 or 1943
double century would be 1643 or 2 cases of beer...
nothing is scarier than standing next to 843 as he asks who is 1843...

JonoBN41 02-17-2003 12:38 AM

Or from a different perspective, I'm 41. My 1st Century is 141; Double Century is 241, etc.

To paraphrase Matt, There's nothing nicer that standing next to 541 and he asks Who's 41?

To stay in the thread, we met during initiation a few years ago. Spotted him in the darkness and just KNEW it was 541. We hobnobbed the rest of the weekend. It was cool.

Alot of chapters put emphasis on this. Almost like having another big brother/ little brother. We talk about the beer cases, but it never really happens. More often than not, it's the alums who take care of the younger guys.

LXAgrits,

Welcome to GC!!!! Havent seen you posting before now!!!!!

I think I have talked via Ma Bell to all of the Brothers who are on site!!!!

Was down to BN at Fl. Tech for their F D and met especially Matt Troy U F and Pat Reilly ( B N ) now going to school at U Wyoming!

I guess I only have 6 "centuary Brothers" and have not given it much thought as we dont really do that!

Sounds like a greaat idea tho! But Jono is right, it is usually right taht the Alums do the spending as the "Fine Upstanding College Kids" cant afford it today! In Case You missed that, lookat the first letters of each word! My puny!:D

Update us on FLS! Always good to hear from new Brothers on site!!!!!

In ZAX,

EM1843 02-18-2003 10:29 AM

HA! Alumni taking care of actives...I wish I new what that was like...oh wait I do...I went to FIT for a night and got better treatment their than from my own alumni, AND I'M THE RHO!

Tom Earp 02-18-2003 10:30 PM

Steve, that would be a bummer for a fact!:(

Matt, I know the feeling, I think You and I are Honorary Members of BN!!!! Hell and I am # 1 0f LXZ and get the same treatment!

Jono came down for my F D and got a wonderful reception from my guys! I was very glad thinking back on the way you and I were treated! They did me proud!!!!!!

But you and I know that a little Tyrolian Brother with a name like Jono is damn Hard to Forget!:D Just got off of phone with him and is ass deeper in snow in upper Long Island and here you are Basking in the Fl. Sunshine. Oh by the way, is colder that H in KC! No Sno Tho! Thank goodness!!!!:D

Hey All...

I am Richard Fong, III and I just initiated into Lambda Chi Alpha, Delta - Nu Zeta UC Riverside chapter. 6, including myself initiated and that brings our total amount initiated to 102. So far its looking good for Spring as we are projecting a total of 10-15 to make our roster at about 40. We currently have 29 members. Its coool.

Anyways, some background history on our chapter. We were colonized on 1/27/1996 and chartered on 11/12/1999, so we are a young chapter compared to many out there, but its all good.

Quick question for anyone to answer. I want to put the greek letters in my signature like Tom Earp has on his profile. How do I do that?

ZAX,

Richard Fong, III

Brother Fong,

Wellcome to Greek Chat and our Merry Band of Brothers. You will find a very great group of Brothers here! I have talked via Ma Bell to many of them!:)

Hope to see input/questions from you anytime! We are all here to help each other when possible!!!!!

JonoBN41 03-03-2003 11:50 PM

Welcome Richard,

I've been meaning to try the letters thing too. Here's my first feeble attempt - don't laugh if it comes out goofy! But thanks for the push. Here goes nothin'.

ZAX,
Jono

JonoBN41 03-04-2003 12:14 AM

We'll be having an initiation this spring, but I'm not sure I'll be able to get down there for it. Not doing so bad though: saw one last fall and LXZ's last month.

There's an interesting tutorial re: signatures on Forums > Greek Life > Ooooh Question....

Still working on it.

Richard, Just got off of phone with Bro Jono. Put a call out on the ooh ooh question threat in general thread!

I tried to check and find to send to you but no luck. Jono and I discussed it on teh phone and he did not have luck either!

He is going to put on that thread so keep and eye out for it!

Good Luck! Nice Web Site in your Zeta!

SniffDNZ098 03-05-2003 02:17 PM

The Website. Yea...That still needs to be updated...

Please tell me what you think of this. We used it as our flash intro presentation during rush.

Richard,

I liked the loop. Very slick, but also very short. Nice graphics!

Take a look at this one from a active at BN. You can view it directly, or download it first. It's kinda big - 168mb I think - but runs for 16:30 minutes.

ZAX,
Jono

Just to let you all know, G C changed processors to give a faster speed and more space!

According to John Hammell, the avatars are not activated. That is to mean that no logos can be put on at the moment!

Hopefully it will happen in the future! They can be neat and the one taht Jono was desribing to me last night really sounds great if it can be done later! I am sure John will be working on it as has been brought up in the Moderators Corner by several Mods!

Hopes this helps you guys!:)

SniffDNZ098 03-06-2003 08:55 PM

my appologies. The flash was part of our IFC rush Presentation. We were allowed 20 minutes with each group. WE also had a 4 minute slide show to show what we do. We then talked about teh fraternity in general and what it has to offer. Then we mingled. I did see the 16:30 movie that Jono put and its excellent. It gave me alot of motivation to do one my own later on.
