How Much Does the Gasoline in your city cost?

I passed by a convenience store, NOT Exxon, Shell, or Texaco and the prices were:

Unleaded: $1.53
Unleaded Plus: $1.63
Premium: $1.73

I haven't had a chance to fill my car yet.

korkscru 02-10-2003 09:58 AM

I'm here in Richmond, Virginia and I've noticed that the gasoline prices have been as high as $1.49. Now that may not be high for some in other areas, but it's high for ME. I'm from the South and I've been driving for something like going on 15 years. I remember when gas was like $.99...does anyone else remember THAT? Yeah, those were the good ole' days. But NOW, it takes almost $23.00 for me to fill my tank. As a matter of fact, they're talking about gas prices right now on the news.

AKA2D '91 02-10-2003 10:07 AM

LOL@ gas at 99 cents per gallon. Often times, you could find it lower than that. 99 cents per gallon was a lot (back then) I remember that well. I was in high school joy riding. LOL Shucks, I could fill up with $10.00.

It was when Desert Storm was going and I was in college that the prices increased. They haven't really been down since then.

CrimsonTide4 02-10-2003 10:12 AM

$1.53 yesterday for my weekly fill up!!

Back when I first got Scarlet Dec. 98 -- gas was 99 cents in Ohio. Oh how I long for those days. Before I got her in 98, gas was 92 cents a gallon.

Gina1201 02-10-2003 10:12 AM

I bought gas this morning and the price was $1.64 a gallon. This was REGULAR not premium!!!

LOL @ the name "Scarlet".... Soror CT4, I'm laughing because I thought that I was one of the only FEW people left who actually gave a NAME to my car. :D My husband drives a dark green Toyota Tacoma pickup and I named it... "The NINJA" (after the Teen-aged Mutant Ninja Turtles). Girl, I also named MY car..."SNOW WHITE".

You guys PLEASE go on the Delta forum and peep the new post that I started...it's kinda related to this topic and a good on, I think. :D :D

Why come high gaise prices?

Out here in Lower California, 87 is going in the $1.65 a gallon range and higher. Because I've not got my 60K service (and this is on a 2000 model car! ), I'm having to use 89. So I'm paying $1.75 a gallon and up.

AKA2D '91 02-10-2003 01:11 PM

Why higher prices?

Probably b/c of the pending war.

ladeia 02-10-2003 02:02 PM

I had to use my change in the cup holder:
1.75 regular
1.85 super
1.95 premium

Those prices only reflect the suburbs of Chicago...I'll pay the 25 cents to put air in my bike tires to get where I need to go:p

evaclear04 02-10-2003 07:53 PM

Gas Prices...

Premium gas is sitting at $1.89 a gallon. If this keeps up, I am going to have to start walking to work!

Actually, gas was that cheap last summer (Sum '01). I had just gotten my car and I would drive to and fro. Gas was CHEAP! It was down to like .97 or .98 cents. Trust me, I had no problem driving all over. Now, I'll be damned if I move my car unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

1savvydiva 02-11-2003 05:24 AM

I was actually going to post on this same topic earlier...but I went home and went to sleep :p!

ANYWAY...HC I was running late for class this morning and I was like "Oh, cool...Racetrac has gas for $1.44, I will stop there before I leave this side of town"

DO YOU KNOW...I pulled into Racetrac later after class, and AS I was pumping my gas, I noticed that it said $1.59!!! HOW IN THE HELL do you raise gas 15 cents in the matter of a few hours????

I was PISSED!!!

P.S. I drive also am PAST DUE for my 60K service with my 2000 car!!

P.P.S. I drive a Silver car and her name is "Sylvie". My first car was a burgundy Mazda 626, her name was "Brandy", and all of my girls have names for their cars as well. We have "Brandy II", "Coke", "Pacer", "Kit", and "Hummer" (not the make of the car...it's just so damn loud!!:))

I have noticed the sudden change here in Maryland too, it does jump rather suddenly!

We are currently:

$1.69
$1.71
$1.80

Thank Bush for burning holes in our pockets

Confucius 02-11-2003 12:36 PM

Forget about gas for your car, how much was your gas bill for your home last month? I live in a 5 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house, our gas billl was $500. Can we say DAMN!

ClassyLady 02-11-2003 01:41 PM

In Florida, gas prices for regular unleaded are about $1.75. Can we say ouch? There's no state income tax, so the gubmint has to make up that money in some other way.

prayerfull 02-11-2003 04:05 PM

How much is gas here in Northern CA...TOO MUCH!

We're pumping in at $1.79 - $1.89 per gallon. It's costing me approx. $50 to fill up my Chevy Tahoe...once a week.

Sorry, I've got you beat. My gas bill is $185.27 for my one bedroom apartment. My gas bill is usually high because I keep the temperature on hell, but I was actually shocked at this bill. I called the gas company to make sure it was really my bill and the correct amount.

I'm still waiting for my Exxon bill.

Yeah, you got me beat! You betta get a space heater or something! I was so suprised at my bill because I am usually hot, and I only turn on the heat if it is like REALLY cold, or I have company! Yeah, you need to get a handle on that!

cinamin1 02-15-2003 09:57 AM

In Ft. Lauderdale, FL...

premium is 1.99:eek:
the cheapest gas I've seen is 1.69 for regular

And here I was complaining about Hawaii prices averaging $1.86! I do know for a fact that some stations on the Big Island have gone past $2.00.

9dstpm 02-15-2003 06:01 PM

Regular unleaded gas in Saginaw costs about $1.83 a gallon. Needless to say, we haven't been anywhere that was not necessay for us to be (ie, unscheduled trips to the mall or Wal-Mart or Meijer) and we take the shortest route everywhere. I think that the Shell station down the street from our house is about $1.95 for regular. I think that I'll be taking the bus for a while. I know my brothers in law are crying right now b/c they drive big SUV's and the prices are nothing nice.

Augystskyz 02-17-2003 03:57 PM

Here on the west side of the state (Michigan) regular is averaging around $1.79 while premium is at $1.99

I'ma have to stop trying to be cute and get on the young metro transit bus with everybody else:)

evaclear04 02-17-2003 04:22 PM

I'm doing my stretching now and getting out my running shoes.

The news interviewed some gas store attendents and they gave the excuse that they are just getting ready for the war. The prices for gas hasn't gone up for them at all. So can some one explain to me why I have to pay $1.95 a gallon?!? I basically have to use up all my gas to drive around town to find the cheapest gas. Now aint that a blip! ( something my mom used to say...and it always sounded so funny..like really what is a blip? and is that bad?...lol)

I remember Wilona saying that on 'Good Times'. Maybe it's a cross between B**** and Trip?
