Scrubs

is there anyone else enjoying this show?
i am falling in love with mcginley. . .are there really such cool doctors out there?
if so, i want to marry one.

justamom 02-06-2003 10:21 AM

I REALLY like this show. It's one of the brightest I've seen for a while. My luck, they will pull it...

agger_rob 02-06-2003 11:29 AM

I think Scrubs is the funniest show on network television right now. It's so much better than Friends with their tired Ross & Racheal story lines and lame Will and Grace.

cuaphi 02-06-2003 11:40 AM

Seems like Friends has been nothing but clip shows and re-runs this season anyway. I heard they'll have even less new shows next year which makes me wonder why they even bother.

That's okay though because Scrubs is great. I've started going to yoga on Thursdays so I don't get home til 7:30 and I don't care about missing Friends, as long as I catch Scrubs.

PM_Mama00 02-06-2003 11:58 AM

I love Scrubs! Too bad I'm almost always at the bar when it's on.

jonsagara 02-06-2003 12:09 PM

Scrubs is *awesome*. :)

ladybug1116 02-06-2003 12:13 PM

I 'm a big "Scrubs" fan too. Especially working in a teaching hospital and seeing the interaction between attendings and residents and then the rest of the staff. It's on the extreme (of course) but so accurate sometimes...it makes it even funnier :)

We have a janitor here that reminds me of the weird janitor on there. Everyone knows who he is and avoids his area when he's there!

White_Chocolate 02-06-2003 12:33 PM

I think that John McGinley has my vote for the sexiest middle age actor. . .he just does something to me. . .well, his character does.
And Zach Braff looks so wholesome.

However, I agree. . .Scrubs is a big break from the monotone lineup on Must See TV Thursdays. And Friends just sucks.

shopgirl 02-06-2003 12:39 PM

I love this show!:D

greeklawgirl 02-06-2003 12:40 PM

"Scrubs" is so smartly written and funny! One of my new faves! :)

Kevin 02-06-2003 12:56 PM

A very well written show. Definitely one of the few good quality programs on TV right now.

White_Chocolate 02-06-2003 01:16 PM

At least it's not a reality-format show
I'm so sick of reality shows

Peaches-n-Cream 02-06-2003 03:26 PM

I'm no Superman. :)

I like this show. Usually, the shows on NBC at 8:30 and 9:30 on Thursday are pretty blah. I mean Veronica's Closet. As Chandler would say, "Could it BE any worse?!" Scrubs really cracks me up especially the mean doctor and the singing quartet of hospital employees. It's just funny stuff. :)

MoxieGrrl 02-06-2003 03:52 PM

Yeah!!! I *love* this show too!! It makes me smile because there is always a heart-touching message at the end.:)

And don't you love it when those guys sing??? hehehehe

White_Chocolate 02-06-2003 04:00 PM

Personally, I like it when JD stands up to Doc. The funniest episode was the one with Brendan Fraiser.

Of course, Doc's ex going into labor was kind of funny too.

AOX81 02-07-2003 10:17 AM

Scrubs has become one of my favorite shows!! :D

SigkapAlumWSU 02-07-2003 08:09 PM

I've watched Scrubs since the first show aired and I love it!!!

bcdphie 02-07-2003 08:15 PM

Scrubs is an awesome show!

Hootie 02-08-2003 12:33 AM

I think I enjoy watching Scrubs more than Friends anymore. I was certainly pissed off that this Thursday they chose to show a REPEAT OF FRIENDS in place of Scrubs!!!! My goodness...move on!

I'm very glad that what's her name said yes to the proposal finally....so cute!

AOEforme 03-18-2009 08:00 PM

*Major BUMP*

They moved the show to Wednesdays at 7.... I really hope ABC doesn't drop it like NBC did.

Anyone else been watching?

UofISigKap 03-18-2009 08:42 PM

I'm caught up as far as the first seven seasons go and own all the DVDs. However, I haven't had cable since I moved last July, so I've missed the entire 8th season so far. ABC is the parent company for the show, and it was odd that they were on NBC to begin with, but hopefully Zach's departure at the end of this season doesn't kill the show. (I miss tv. Curses you Verizon and lack of Fios here ::shaking fist::)

AOEforme 03-19-2009 04:08 PM

I know! I'm thinking it's kinda going to be like That's 70s Show after Eric left...

I always imagined the series finale would be JD and Elliot's wedding. I wonder if that is going to happen now...

I know!! I've always wanted to see it...Did you watch last nights episode? I thought it was kind of funny how they were like "Elliot, no one cares about you and JD's relationship! We're sick of it!" etc...It's funny because all of my guy friends who watch, say the exact same thing, lol

I still love them together though! :)

Anyways, AOE I'm so glad you bumped this! I absolutely love Scrubs! Like, obsessively...I have the entire series, and I've seen every episode, multiple times...I know, I know, it's a little much, but it's SUCH a good show! Especially the older ones.

And by the way, like 2 days after I PMed you about your signature, I saw the episode where he says that! :)

ETA: What I also love about Scrubs is the music! Zach Braff picks most of the songs, and they're just so good. They always fit in so well with what's going on in the show... and well, this is kind of embarrassing, but I'm willing to admit it...I have a play list on my iTunes called "My Scrubs Mix". It consists of 52 songs used on the show...and yes, I used the "My ____ " thing like they do for the show titles. :D

I'm glad I'm not the only Scrubs obsessed person out there...

I did see that episode. I was hoping for 2 back-to-back though. That does explain why they bumped it to Wednesday nights.

BTW, your post got me thinking: maybe that's the problem's with Scrubs' TV ratings: the old seasons are always on, so if you don't see it Wednesdays at 8, it'll be on one of a million different channels sometime within the year....

lovespink88 04-16-2009 07:26 PM

OMG I just watched last night's Scrubs (thank you DVR!)

I have to say...even though the show is not nearly as funny as it was in the early seasons, I think the plot lines have been really good again this season! (well compared to like seasons 6 & 7)

Last nights episode though...OMG I loved it!!! When JD says "you're my dream girl" to Elliot, which is one of the very first thoughts he has about her during the first episode! SO SO CUTE!!!!

Only 3 episodes left in the season, but does anyone know if this is the last in the series? I know for sure Zach Braff is out after this season, but I heard they might continue without him. I personally hope they don't... it's not going to be the same without him, and I just had when shows go on longer than they should. If it ends now it will at least end on a good note.

Anyone else watch??

AOEforme 04-16-2009 08:35 PM

I did... just today. (one of the reasons I'm glad they switched to ABC.... yeah online TV).

I feel like they're kind of wrapping up the series- I half expected JD to propose to Elliot right there and then.... which i'm expecting to happen before the show ends.

PLUS:
* The janitor got married! That's gotta mean it's going to end soon
* Jordan and Dr. Cox said they love each other- also points to it ending soon.
* JD loves someone more than Turk - impossible!

Am I the only one too who thought Elliot was being way too whiney?

More evidence: According to wikipedia, the last episode this season is called "My Finale", AND it says we learn the Janitor's name. Now I know it's just Wikipedia, but I've heard that Janitor's name will not be revealed until the last episode, sooooo yeahh.. lol

I wasn't surprised by Elliot's whinyness...She's always crazy like that. I was actually more surprised that she seemed to be normal in a relationship for so long!! lol

PS this thread is pretty much just you and me lol

sjsoffer 04-19-2009 01:59 PM

and random people lurking while watching scrubs on netflix ;)

btb87 04-19-2009 02:44 PM

Okay. . . guess I gotta go to ABC.com and get caught up. I haven't watched it consistently since the move.

OhSoVeryLadylike 04-21-2009 01:36 AM

And me another huge Scrubs fan!

lovespink88 05-03-2009 06:03 PM

Who's ready for the LAST TWO EPISODES EVER this week? I'm not. :(

AOEforme 05-03-2009 11:38 PM

I'm so sad. I want to see Elliot and JD get engaged though. My boyfriend says he doesn't want it to happen. He just wants it to be an implied thing.

I want to see it! I've put in so many years waiting for this to happen- I wanna see how he does it.

RU OX Alum 05-04-2009 06:02 AM

It will be interesting to see how they do it.

RaggedyAnn 05-04-2009 06:35 AM

I'm not a Scrubs fan, but we do have an ASA sister on the show. She plays Dr. Sonja "Sunny" Day.

That's so cool! I also know Zach Braff is a Phi Kappa Psi, and I've heard Neil Flynn (Janitor) is a Sigma Nu!

This may not be the end:

OMG it was so sad tonight...As pathetic as this sounds I think I may shed a tear tomorrow. :(

lovespink88 05-06-2009 09:33 PM

AMAZING.

I actually hope that was the series finale now though, there's just no topping that.

Agreed. The ending especially.... it was tastefully done. They didn't rush JD and Elliot's relationship too much but still showed what most of us have been dying to see.

Those christmas sweaters were to die for! Adorable. I love Turk-n-JD
