I have an Initiation Date!!!

Okay, I'm a little excited, but I've wanted this more than anything I've wanted in a LONG time! My initiation date is March 29, and I think it's the same day as Midwesterngirl's initiation!

Go me! Go Alpha Phi!

YAY!! I am so excited for both of you! I was initiated on March 15, 1997, so my six year anniversary is coming up! Congrats! :D

Theta Zeta's initation is also March 29. I can't wait because I'm very good friends with 3 of our new members. :)

I was initiated on February 12, 1993, and it is really starting to make me feel old that the 10 year anniversary is coming up.

Hey Lauradav...even though I am older you were initiated first1!!:p

The funniest part is that I was the last class with a 5 month pledge period. I pledged on September 26, 1992, and wasn't initiated until February. We took a Winter pledge class that year and they were initiated one month after us. It seemed so unfair at the time, but now as an advisor I can't imagine doing COB with long pledge periods.

Congratulations Sistermadly!!! I am so thrilled that you are about to become my sister! I will wear my badge on your initiation day so that I can remember how, even though we are miles and miles apart, we will still share the bonds of Alpha Phi. I just think that is the coolest thing!

I can't remember if we talked about this or not, but do you have your outfit picked out yet? :) :D

I had my sister send a suit that I can wear for initiation. It's too big (just like all of my clothes these days) but it'll have to do!

Thanks for all the support.. I think I'm going to be overwhelmed with emotion on that day by just knowing I'm a part of such an amazing sisterhood. *sniffle*

I was soooo overwhelemed with emotion when i went thru initation. I was sniffling too. :) Valkyrie( Tracy) has a good idea when you get initated she is going to wear her badge and i think i will too :) Us alpha lambda's need to stick together!:)

White is one color that cannot be found anywhere these days! i went to ten million stores til i hit a Ross and i found a white dress shoved way deep in a clearance rack and grabbed it.

All i have to say is when you go thru try to remember EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! it goes by soo quickly. and another piece of advice wear COMFY SHOES!!!!!!!!!!! :) my feet were sooooo sore by the time i got home i was crawling to my front door :) hehehe:D

Wow... I feel like an OLD lady now! I was initiated on November 18, 1989!!!! Sometimes it feels like a million years ago, and other times, it's just like yesterday.

Initiation is such a special day and I try not to miss them if I can avoid it, and since I've been so involved in your 'pledge-ship' I am going to be even more emotional than I usually am SisterMadly.

I am so glad that you are joining us and cannot wait to share with you the secrets of our sisterhood. There's so much to share!!

Cutiepatootie, THANK YOU for the tip about comfy shoes! The only white shoes I have are the ones I wore at my wedding, which kill my feet. I have a pair of white sneakers, but somehow I don't think I should wear those. ;)

When one of my friends got married, she got a pair of those white ballerina slippers and decorated them with pearls and wore them under her wedding dress. Maybe I'll do that for March 29.

and i should of remembered how stinking uncomfortable and hurtful they were!

Anyhow, I would go to Wal Mart and get the satin white isotoner ballet slippers. I have them from my years being in Job's daughters so i now use them for initations for Alpha Phi. I have learned my lesson, so next time i am at an initation i am comfortable. :D

So is your initation date next month? or this month? I am going to try to make it an effort to wear my badge that day.

Hey now i graduated High School in 1987 so if your old then that would make me ancient. Thats just not right! hehe:)

We quite often suggest that people wear just white nylons and take off their shoes before entering initiation hall. Most of the actives aren't wearing anything on their feet so it doesn't matter. Plus then you don't have to worry about tripping!!! I almost did when I was initiated. How embarrasing!

HAHAHA!!!!!!!! I actually have the items, just keep forgetting to ask for your address. :D So now that I rememberd, well, it was pointed out to me, rather, why don'tcha e-mail me. :p

Got you beat by one year...11/20/88. Although my badge is mis-inscribed and says 89 instead of 88. You're absolutely right about it seeming so far away sometimes.

OK, I have not been on GC for awhile. Connecting to GC was frustratingly slow! But a fellow GCer encouraged me to get back on, so here I am. I see I've been out of the loop. So...

Congratulations, sistermadly on your upcoming initiation. I must tell you, though, that some members may want to take pictures of and with you. I don't know if white is one of your flattering colors, but for me it's not. Good thing my dress was not stark white; not flattering against my warm skin tone! ;) And like cutiepatootie mentioned, initiation goes by quickly! So try to remember everything, because I don't!
