Tomorrow R. Kelly's newest CD comes out. I was just listening to Russ 'n' em and they took a poll on who planned to buy his CD. Of the 12 calls I heard, only 2 said no. :eek:

The last R. Kelly CD that I purchased was his CD with Trade In My Life, You Remind Me, and I Can't Sleep.

I am not even gonna DOWNLOAD this shhh. I cannot stand R. Kelly, and haven't been able to after 12 Play. The man is disgusting, and I cannot listen to his music without picturing him writing the songs with little girls in mind. Gross.

Nope. Why not? I can dontate the SAME $7.99-$12.25 myself DIRECTLY to that charitable organization, where ALL of it goes to the org, not a percentage.

I won't drop a dime on the CD.... but I may download it. I don't know. I can't even lie. Kelly used to be hot to death. If all this hadn't have happened, I am sure that people would be out in droves to buy that CD. However, I don't think that I will give any of my money to go towards his defense fund. He can cancel that.

As far as the second poll question, I'm with 2D. I can do my own donating.

:rolleyes: Yes I am going to buy the CD when it comes out. Though let me just ask where is the proof that R. Kelly did any of the things that people are saying took place. I just don't know.

Question #1: There is a chance I might get his CD (maybe many many months latter) only because I'm a collector. I have all his albums since he came out with that other group.

Question #2: I won't support that. I think it's very contradictory of him. I would feel that he's only doing it because he got himself in trouble. It's not genuine, just a way to help clear his

no, i will not the support him. it's not due to the allegations/charges in 2 states concerning him, yes he is presumed innocent. HOWEVER, i don't like him. he has this Madonna/Whore complex going on where he is inspirational and a pathetic freak at the same time. i can't get with the dichotomy.

NO ONE I knew from is surprised at these allegations, they say it is common knowledge what he likes and has been for years. And I didn't hear about it when he was arrested, I was hearing about it yeeeeaars earlier.

2. Sorors and Fellow Greeks, you are at a party, event, etc. when an R. KElly song comes on as you all are setting out THE ULTIMATE HOP. Do you keep hopping to an R. Kelly song?:eek: Does the whole chapter, party line stop or just individuals?

3. For those who are going to buy it, would you still buy it if it were YOUR family member in the video?:confused:

4. When he comes on the radio with a song from his pre video release days or post, do you listen or do you see if Nelly is on another radio station?

According to Russ Parr this morning, Gina was correct but also they will add a BONUS CD with 6 more tracks. This is all a PR push with the recent Florida arrest.:rolleyes:

Chapter Sorors and I went to our UGs party this past weekend. :eek: Ignition's remix came on, as soon as it did folks were 'yeahhh, that's my jam' etc. :rolleyes: I saw more grinding going on than anything. :eek: (Mind you, it has been more than 8 years since I've been to an UG party) Anyway, there was a particular organization strutting, but not sorors. In fact, they wouldn't S.T.A.D.

If that song came on right after the bunny hop or the bus stop, I'd have to SMAD too. :D

RE #2: An individual can only be responsible for his or her actions. I would hope that the chapter, party line etc would have the same beliefs as I. Yet, reality must set in and I would have to realize that everyone does not hold the same beliefs on this particular subject. It all boils down to individual responsibility and individual ideology.

I'm sure that if this situation hit more closely to home, individuals would not support Rra in any form or fashion.

1. I will sit my butt down. I actually have never heard the song.
2. Again, I WOULD sit down. While I try to teach morality, people don't have to listen to me.

4. I turn the station. I've thrown away the two CD's I own because I doubt that I can listen to them anymore.




I LOVED him. 12 Play was the sound track to my senior year in HS (I know that sounds bad, but...)I loved "My body's calling" and "The Greatest Sex", but I feel bad about supported him. I stood by him through the whole Aaliyah thing. But, really, enough is enough. I work with girls that age everyday. Although, they try to act like grown @$$ women, but you can tell they aren't. It's all right for us to support our own. But, do you support your own when they are detrimental to us. Maybe it would be different if he admitted that he was wrong and tried to get help. But no, he's pleading his innocence, placing blame, saying it was someone else (it was so low for him to say it was his brother), and asking for a d@^& HUG! I think we are so accepting as a people. But, we need to take a principled stand against this. It's wrong and he's wrong. He needs to get out of the studio, and get some help and try to repair his family.

Um..my answer would be a resounding NO. I didn't like him prior to this mess and I still don't like him. He can't sing. Never could. Plus, the fact he's proven that he's a PEDOPHILE is enough reason for me.

I won't buy it cause I don't buy that many cd's anymore. I already heard some of these tracks from the Chocolate Factory. It's alright. The Ignition Remix is kinda hot but the situation often does come to mind when I heard the song. So that's disturbing. I mean, I think he should just take a break... but I don't know how much his sales will suffer or downloads anyway...

Question: Is there such a thing as bad PR or publicity?

12 Play was his best release ever! Ever since then, even before all of this videotape mess, I don't think he's been quite up to par with 12 Play.

Am I going to buy this project? Probably not. Will I download some of it? Probably so.

Just being honest.

I guess the jury still remains out (no pun intended) on the answer to this question for RKelly, but in Mikey Jackson's case it's obvious: accordng to a radio station I listen to, the sale of his CDs have gone up about 1000% since the airing of his infamous interview on ABC.
