I'm engaged! He asked me on 1/24 and I was totally surprised. :D

YAY!!! how did he ask you??

It was actually awkward in a funny sort of way. Friday was his last day at his job (today he's starting a new one) so a bunch of his former coworkers were meeting us at a bar for happy hour as kind of a going away party for him. He and I went over together in his car and when we got there I was about to get out, and he said, "Wait, let me open the door for you." So I waited for him to come around to my side but then when he got there he just kind of stood there (maybe he was a little nervous). So I opened the door and started to get out, and he was like, "Wait, I have something for you." And then he got on his knee and pulled out the ring and asked me! And of course I said yes :)

The ring is 1/2 carat princess cut, and I love it! Unfortunately, it was too big, so it's currently off being resized... I can't wait to have it back! :p

Yes, we actually decided on a date yesterday. It will be January 24, 2004. Everything was going to be indoors anyway, so it won't matter if it's cold. :)

What's the cutest engagement story?
 

I'm just a sucker for these. So, I have to nominate my brother.

He got engaged two years ago but his story is still the inspiration I will have 'THE ONE' listen to. See, he's been dating his wife, Mihwa for 3 years(she's who my niece calls Mom since her mom lives in Iceland). Anyway, he took Mi-hwa to some concert in Seattle. That night, they went to an expensive restaurant. And he gave her a present: she opened the box and it was a key. She made this comment 'What's this? A key to your heart?' and she started laughing. He told her that this was the key to the house he bought in Seattle and asked her to move in with him. She was kind of edgy and didn't answer so he asked her if she wanted to see it. She said yes so they went to the house.
At the house, they toured it and when they got to the master bedroom, there was candles, bathrobes, and wine in an ice bucket(he said that it was melted when they got there) around the sunken bathtub with a mirrored wall. He told her that he had the water turned on so that they could have a romantic evening together. So, he ran the hot water and the shower to steam up the bathroom mirrors while they slipped into the bathtub. He said that he waited like fifteen minutes. . .well, actually, the candles were tipping over so he had to get out and turn on the lights. and when he got back in, he wrote, 'will you marry me?' on the steamed mirror. he said that she sat there before she started screaming and splashing water all over the place.

My brother sold his Navigator to pay for it. He's now driving a Maxima.
