Gonna be a Bridesmaid!!!!!!

I just wanted to share this news with all of you!

Last night one of my ADPi sisters asked me to be a bridesmaid in her wedding this October.
I nearly cried and gave her about four big hugs. I was (and am) so excited, and so incredibly honored.
She asked me to stand up in the form of a note, which she tucked away in her Wedding Planner for me stumble across as we looked through it. At the bottom, she added a quote: "Friends may come & Friends may go, but SISTERS last forever."
Again, as I read this quote, I nearly cried. It just put everything into perspective for me. I am so fortunate to have such wonder women like her in my life. And I am so incredibly lucky to be able to not only call them my friends, but my sisters as well.

:) :) :)

I hope that you enjoy being a bridesmaid. :)

That is so sweet. I really hope you have a great time, and your sister has a great wedding!

I'll remember a quote one of my sisters told us once, she said her mom told her that you go to high school to find your friends, but you go to college to find your bridesmaids.

Oh yay! Congratulations!! :D

I was the last one asked to be in my best friend from college's wedding. She was all nice at first. . .now, I'm starting to wonder if I sold my soul to the devil.

Her wedding is in June. The entire wedding is on a beach on the Georgia coast. The wedding party is having to travel from Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and New York City to be the wedding.

Bride Nazi!!!

Oh, she did! They are very classy! The kind I wouldn't be afraid to wear again in the future!

That is really beautiful and really true. I know I already have a couple of my bridesmaids secretly picked out for my future wedding, and they are sisters as well.

Hahaha, I hope that doesn't happen! Luckily, she is getting married locally. So I'm sure that'll play to our advantage.

Sigh...I need to find some worthy bridesmaid candidates! I'm not sure how to prioritize my friends. Plus, I don't want a big wedding party. What to do?

Congratulations!! I know how exciting it is to be a bridesmaid in a wedding. This year four of my friends are getting married and I'm in THREE of the weddings! One in June, one in October, and one in December. It's going to be a crazy year!!

I'm going to be a bridesmaid in the wedding of one of my former roomates. I moved in with this girl and her best friend because I was miserable with my roomates in the on-campus apartments, and they had a vacancy. She (and the other girl) are absoltuely wonderful, and are now two of my best friends.

The wedding is in April, and there's a surprise shower for her on Sunday. I can't wait! This is the dress we're wearing, in a dark lavendar color:

Munchkin: I feel your pain, hon. How do I prioritize my sisters? Even if I went by people in my KD "family" that is still a ton more bridesmaids that I want to have! Here is my (almost) final decision: Keep it to my sister, my cousin, Mr. Mox's sister, and my best friend from hs. And all of my KD sisters will be invited to the wedding :)

One of my little sisters is getting married this fall and asked me to be one of her bridesmaids. She had so many problems choosing between people that she's ending up with 8 attendants, I think.

It's hard for my group of friends because we really are just a circle of friends. No one really has a "best" friend. I can narrow it down a little more than she has, though. I'm thinking 4 attendants and then everyone else can help out with everything else :)

Congrats, and congrats to your sister on her wedding! :)

I think I kinda have my bridesmaids sorts picked out (note the emphasis on 'think'). I still have a lot of time to decide. Deffinately my blood sister... she deserves the spot of Maid of Honor. My Cousin... And my Adpi sister, Katie... Why her as opposed to my other sisters? Well, aside from her being a great friend, she also introduced me to the man of my dreams. :)
There may be a couple more bridesmaids, but deffinately those three!

juniorgrrl 01-22-2003 12:48 AM

I'm really happy with the dress - I've already earmarked it for Barrister's Ball (basically a law school prom) next year :)

My wedding party is probably going to be pretty small, because I'm an only child, and don't have many really close girlfriends. My cousin, who is 10 now, will be 12 by the time I get married (and she looks and actsmuch older - she is one with it kid) will be my maid of honor, because she's the closest I've got to a sister. I'll probably limit it to about 4 attendants.

Wow! Your dress is going to be really beautiful!

I really like the look of (most) bridesmaids dresses now. I think they are very classy looking... But I often wonder, though, if we'll look back in the future and think, "What were we thinking?"

ladyj39 05-05-2003 07:45 PM

I just heard from my little sis and she's getting married! I'm SO happy for her! Her fiance is such a sweetheart and I was there when they first met. (He's a member of Phi Kappa Tau) She loves Disneyland and he proposed to her in front of the castle during the fireworks display.

She asked me to be in her bridal party and of course I said yes! I'm so excited for them! I wonder if it will be an :D
