Eta Omicron Tau
has anyone heard of a sorority called Eta Omicron Tau. We had a group of girls that were part of an NPC sorority on campus drop thier letters. First they wanted to start another NPC sorority on campus then after numerous people told them that you can not because you are already part of an NPC sorority they decided that they were going to start a chapter of a local sorority on campus. Eta Omicron Tau when spelled out in greek letters is HOT. I was just wondering if anyone has this on thier campus or have even heard of this group?

I never heard of Eta Omicron Tau, but I heard of Eta Omega Tau and they call themselves the HOT girls.
|
maybe this is what they were talking about. I am not sure what is going on, all I know is that they are bad mouthing one of the sororities to alot of girls and plan to disrupt rush. I do not care about the sorority and its problems internally but I do care when it is going to effect my sorority.

A group of GDI girls on my hall freshman year made mock flyers for their "sorority" Tri Chi. It never really caught on. :p
|
Sounds like a co-ed group on a friend of mine's campus (no GLO's there). They called themselves Sigma Mu Alpha Kappa Alpha Sigma Sigma (or SMAKASS).
Don't count on the HOT girls lasting very long:D |

I had a class with a GDI once who had a shirt with "Kappa Tappa Kegga" on it. I got a kick out of it.
|
A few girls who dropped out of my sorority came up with a clever lil local... funny how they actually got some school funding for this:
Kappa Omega Chi.... yes kids that is KOX Oh yeah, then there's what we like to call them... Sigma Lambda Upsilon Tau |
I've heard of the HOT thing...
here's another I've seen
Tappa Kegga Bru I like the Alpha sigma sigma thing-very funny. |
Don't forget the Van Wilder Staple
Got DIK? |
Ditto on the Kappa Theta Chi deal. We have a local by the name of Zeta Theta Chi and they call their little brother organization KOX...*shrugs*
Oh, we have a freshman fraternity trying to make it on campus by the name of Kappa Theta Rho (KOP)..just so they could call themselves 'cops'...sheesh.. |
Sigma Epsilon Chi (SEX)
Tau Iota Tau Rho Rho Rho |
Ok, these are NOT as funny as the ones listed (I am laughing SO hard right now!!!), but I do have to add that across the street from my university, there is a VERY Baptist University that believes that Greeks are bad and there can be no national Greeks on their campus, but they do have "clubs" with Greek names. One female "club" is "The E's", which are 3 red E's in a row. Say Red E's fast and you have MY university mascot, the REDDIES!! Pretty funny (we are big rivals by the way. . so much so that about 40 years ago some of HSU's guys KIDNAPPED the OBU Homecoming Queen).
The good part is that they DO have Tri Chi. . .and yes, the girls wear letter shirts with XXX across their chest. Also good for a giggle, considering the administration didn't quite figure that out soon enough to end it (most of the groups are decades old). |
One year for halloween, these two girls on my floor decided to dress up as sorority girls. They made themselves letter shirts with Sigma Tau Delta (STD). They obviously weren't bigs fans of greeks. And I was never a big fan of them. :p

Georgia Tech has a local sorority called Chi Omega Tau. They go by Chi O-T. Like Coyote, their mascot. This fraternity guy from Georgia Tech came to a party at my school once and kept howling like a coyote.

If I'm not mistaken, Sigma Tau Delta is an english honorary fraternity. I think it would suck to have to wear a jersey that said STD on it. I know some people here make fun of SDT because it's close to STD. Not cool. How about Sigma Eta Iota Tau? Kinda stretching it. :)
|
you're right!
I'm a member of the English honorary Sigma Tau Delta. Thank goodness we never had shirts!!
I'm certainly proud to be a member, but I prefer the FULL name;) |
Eta Omega Tau
We had a chapter of Eta Omega Tau start on my campus last fall and I don't think anyone has heard anything out of them since then. They petitioned to be on the PHC, and were denied so I think they just died out.
|
Reminds me of the old Simkins Hall Intermural Team at Texas. They just had their letters on their shirts. We dared a freshman friend to go over to them in the dining hall and ask what it stood for.
At my school, no two clocks show the same time, so we say we operate on Sagamore Hill International Time. |
We have the Iota Eta Pi girls...read as "I ate a pie"...hahaha
|
I wa watching Tales from the Crypt tv series last night (it was late and I couldn't sleep and there was nothing else on), but they in the episode it was about fraternities and sororites and what they did for pledging. Anyway, the sorority in the episode was Delta Omega Alpha or DOA (dead on arrival) and they said it was an "all ghouls sorority"...okay I'm a big geek
|
We have this group of girls on campus who call themselves "Alpha Delta Popular" theres a buch of them... their mascot is Britney Spears... its really really dumb. But someone was concerned cos they have like a bunch of girls interested... I said "The freshmen do it every year, it will die out!"

If girls believe the Eta Omicron Tau ladies, then they are probably not the kind of ladies you would want in your sorority anyway. For them to disrupt rush and try causing trouble for the other sororities and expect to get new members somehow out of it is totally beyond me. But like I said, as long as their bashing is one-sided, and there isn't any bad-mouthing to them, I think it would make your sorority look way better than their chapter... but that's just my opinion :) |
Wow,
Who sits around and comes up with them all? Some people just have too much time on their hands... If you've ever seen 'Sorority Boys', Delta Omega Gamma is worth a laugh... But the first time I saw a French Connection logo hoodie I nearly had a heart attack, until i reread it. Then I HAD to laugh. C. |
