The Preamble of the Constitution of
Delta Sigma Phi The Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity in convention assembled declares and affirms the following principles: That the belief in God is essential to our welfare. That the loyalty to the constituted authority of our nations and their subdivisions is a cardinal virtue of our brotherhood, the pledged faith of which shall never be broken; and that our brotherhood, receiving the blessings of liberty, education and Fraternity, shall ever support, foster and defend our universities, colleges and school systems, founded under the dispensation of our governments and constituting the bulwarks of democracy for us, for our posterity and for all men. That the sanctity of the home and the sacredness of the family bond, the hearthstone of our enlightened civilization, and the chivalry of man toward woman, shall ever be maintained and protected by us, not only for ourselves and our posterity, but also for the good of all mankind. That a symmetrical culture, a fraternal communion among the colleges of this country, and a brotherhood of men, whose ideals and beliefs are those of modern civilization, are essential to the welfare of our college men. In furtherance of these aims, this Fraternity has recognized certain standards of attainment and gentlemanly conduct, expressed in the ideals symbolically represented by the three Greek letters, Delta, Sigma, Phi; and it shall be the constant endeavor of the brothers who may be called upon to preside over and govern the Fraternity, or it's component chapters, to enforce the precepts of the fraternity by every reasonable means within their power, and they, and each brother of the Fraternity shall exemplify those principles by conduct as well as enforcement in order that the Fraternity may grow and prosper with honor to itself and that the world may ever be convinced of the sincerity of our purpose. |
Phi Mu has a very beautiful creed :)
********************************************** To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand. To think of God as a protector and guide of us all. To keep forever sacred the memory of those we have loved and lost. To be to others what we would they would be to us. To keep our lives gentle, merciful and just, Thus being true to the womanhood of love. To walk in the way of honor, guarding the purity of our thoughts and deeds. Being steadfast in every duty small or large. Believing that our given word is binding. Striving to esteem the inner man above culture, wealth or pedigree. Being honorable, courteous, tender, Thus being true to the womanhood of honor. To serve in the light of truth avoiding egotism, narrowness, and scorn. To give freely of our sympathies. To reverence God as our Maker, striving to serve Him in all things. To minister to the needy and unfortunate. To practice day by day love, honor, truth. Thus keeping true to the meaning, spirit and reality of Phi Mu. |
The Creed of Zeta Tau Alpha
To realize that within our grasp, in Zeta Tau Alpha, lies the opportunity to learn those things which will ever enrich and ennoble our lives; to be true to ourselves, to those within and without our circle; to think in terms of all mankind and our service in the world; to be steadfast, strong, and clean of heart and mind, remembering that since the thought is father to the deed, only that which we would have manifested in our experience should be entertained in thought; to find satisfaction in being, rather than seeming, thus strengthening in us the higher qualities of the spirit; to prepare for service and learn the nobility of serving, thereby earning the right to be served; to seek understanding that we might gain true wisdom; to look for the good in everyone; to see beauty, with its enriching influence; to be humble in success, and without bitterness in defeat; to have the welfare and harmony of the Fraternity at heart, striving ever to make our lives a symphony of high ideals, devotion to the right, the good, and the true, without a discordant note; remembering always that the foundation precept of Zeta Tau Alpha was love, "the greatest of all things." Shirley Kreasan Strout --why do some groups call it a symphony? Is there a difference? |

The Symphony of Alpha Xi Delta
These things do we earnestly desire: A clear vision of life, that with gracious and kindly hearts we may share in both joy and sorrow, and bring into living reality the sisterhood of women; An appreciation of real merit and worth; steadfastness of soul, that without bitterness or defeat we may encounter misfortune, and with humility meet success. These things O Lord, help us to instill within our hearts, that we may grow in courage, graciousness, and peace. |
I love our creed, and have it posted in my family room:
The Creed of Alpha Delta Pi I BELIEVE in Alpha Delta Pi. I BELIEVE that my sorority is more than a ritual or a symbol; that it is a way of life. I BELIEVE that the principles established by our founders in 1851 are enduring attributes, exemplifying the highest ideals of Christian womanhood. I BELIEVE that our motto “We Live For Each Other,” expresses the true spirit of fraternity; and that by living this motto my life will be enriched by true friendships and by unselfish service to mankind. I BELIEVE that the privilege of membership in Alpha Delta Pi brings the responsibility to do my best in whatever I undertake, always remembering that leadership requires confidence tempered with humility and courage blended with tolerance. I BELIEVE that I must strive to become a well-balanced person by following the dictates of the four points symbolized by our diamond-shaped badge: first, strengthening my own character and personality; second, watching my attitudes toward my fellow-beings; third, recognizing the value of high educational standards; and fourth, developing faith and loyalty. I BELIEVE that these four guide-posts, guarded by the stars and friendly hands clasped in the Adelphean bonds of fellowship, will lead me to achieve a rich and useful life. -Caralee Strock Stanard I believe! :) honeychile |
Kappa Kappa Gamma Symphony
To accept what each day may bring, unless through my own endeavor I can better myself and those whom my life may concern; to value the present, because it is one with the past and future which are mine to make or to mar; to strive only for what I believe to be highest and best, holding others to no standard which I cannot maintain for myself; to be thankful for, and imprve the privilieges which are mine as a college woman, bearing in mind the added responsibility that devolves upon me because of them; to hold high the honor of my fraternity, tempering word and deed according to the influence they will and must have, upon the colors I bear; finally, to give in all things the best that I have; this is to be my Kappa Symphony.

I was about to put up our creed if I had not noticed you had.

Symphony of Alpha Chi Omega
To see beauty even in the common things of life; To shed the light of love and friendship round me; To keep my life in tune with the world that I shall make no discords in the harmony of life; To strike on the lyre of the universe only notes of happiness, of joy, of peace; To appreciate every little service rendered; To see and appreciate all that is noble in another, be her badge what it may, and to let my lyre send for the chords of love, unselfishness sincerity. This is to be my symphony. Written by Celia McClure, Delta Chapter Adopted in 1914 |

Pi Kappa Phi's Student Creed
The Student Creed
I believe that the ideal chapter is made up of men Who are bound together in a common loyalty which transcends any personal selfishness. Who realize that membership means personal responsibility in bearing their share of the financial burden of the chapter and the national organization. Who bring credit to the fraternity by striving to attain the highest possible standards of scholarship. Who safeguard the reputation of their chapter by keeping careful watch over their personal conduct. Who uphold faithfully the traditions and activities of their college. Who prepare themselves diligently to shoulder their full responsibility as citizens. I Believe that my chapter can become an ideal chapter, and I shall do my share to make it so. --------------- My chapter also has its own mission statement: Pi Kappa Phi - Zeta Gamma Chapter A union of men who work for, The betterment of themselves, each other and the Chapter, Through: Brotherhood, Self Sacrifice, and Self Actualization In the hopes that it will benefit future members as it has past and present. |
The Chi Omega Symphony
To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed; to place scholarship before social obligations and character before appereances; to be, in the best sense, democratic rather than 'exclusive', and lovable rather than 'popular'; to work earnestly, to speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occasion and conscience demand; to be womanly always; to be discouraged never; in a word, to be loyal under any and all circumstances to my Fraternity and her highest teachings and to have her welfare ever at heart that she may be a symphony of high purpose and helpfulness in which there is no discordant note. Ethel Switzer Howard. Xi. 1909 Ethel wrote this on the eve of her initiation, and it still holds true to me today. |
We have a creed and a purpose, which all Alpha Phi's cherish:
Alpha Phi Creed I believe in my Fraternity. I believe in the friendships formed in the springtime of my youth. I believe in its high ideals which lift me up beyond myself. I believe in its earnest drive for good scholarship, moral character, and genuine culture. I believe in it as a shrine of international sisterhood wherein I may find love and loyalty, sympathy and understanding inspiration and opportunity. I believe in it as a creator of good citizenship, helping me to do my work well, to live in harmony with others, and to serve my country and to trust in God. I believe in my Fraternity. I believe in Alpha Phi. - Annette Holt Hitchcock, Pi 1912 Alpha Phi Purpose The objects of our Fraternity are the promotion of growth in character, unity of feeling, sisterly affection and social communion among our members. In all that we do, we try to obey God's principles of justice and right. We have banded ourselves together to improve our minds and hearts, and we seek to aid each other through a constant watchcare always given in love. We believe ourselves to be sincere searchers for truth. We seek the highest ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking intellectual development but, also, the spirit of love and charity. And we who are thus united are under a solemn pledge to lend a helping hand to one another. |

The Mission Statement of Kappa Sigma: The Ideals we Pursue Determine who we are and what we will become |
lambda chi alpha creed
We believe in Lambda Chi Alpha and its traditions, principles, and ideals. The crescent is our symbol; pure, high, and ever growing. And the cross is our guide; denoting service, sacrifice, and even suffering and humilation before the world, bravely endured if need be, in following that ideal.
May we have faith in Lambda Chi Alpha and passion for its welfare. May we have hope for the future of Lambda Chi Alpha and strength to fight for its teachings. May we have pure hearts, that we may approach the ideal of perfect brotherly love. |
AMEN!!!!!!!:)
LUV my Brothers rom UF!!!!!! |
The Creed of Pi Kappa Alpha was actually adopted this August at our Convention, along with a vision and mission statement.
Here is our Creed: We believe in the importance of virtue and commit to living the values of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. We recognize that truth is the foundation of all lasting association, and we will seek wisdom and knowledge while serving others in modesty and dignity. Recalling that Pi Kappa Alpha is a lifelong commitment, I therefore reaffirm to live my life with honor and courage seeking the inherent worth in each person I meet; to accept all brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha in love and friendship; and to serve my faith, my family, my community, my alma mater, and my Fraternity. Only then, by living these virtues, will we realize our fullest potential. |

Such beautiful and inspiring words from all the GLOs! Here is the Sigma Alpha Iota Symphony, which I just love:
To study and practice the goodness of life, the beauty of art, the meaning of music. To sing the song of sincerity and universal peace. To speak the words that build, that bless and comfort. To play the harpstrings of loving kindness, tolerance, appreciation, and genuine gratitude. To strive for the joy of simplicity, for the noble, to be faithful over a few things. To listen, to be still and know the harmony from within. To falter never in seeking loving service, wisdom, and understanding. In a word, to be loyal to Sigma Alpha Iota and her teachings; to find joy, hope, inspiration; to remember that "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above" and "whatsoever ye do, do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men." And again to practice. This is to be our Symphony. -Esther Requarth, Nu |

The Alpha Sigma Tau Creed
As a member of Alpha Sigma Tau, I believe in the permanence and loveliness of its ideals. I believe in the values of friendship and fidelity to purpose. I believe in the fulfillment of self and will strive to contribute my share to the progress of mankind. I believe in cultivating beauty of spirit and graciousness of living in all my contacts with others. I believe that faithfulness to these ideals will help me to live joyously and valiantly. The Purpose The Purpose of Alpha Sigma Tau is to promote the ethical, cultural, and social development of its members, specifically: to develop the character of each member through a study of ethics so that she will show in all her relationships sincerity, honesty, love and understanding; to help each member enjoy the cultural advantages in life so that she will know how to select those things which are most worthwhile; and to develop in each member the social graces to the extent that she will be able to take her place in life with true dignity and poise. ::Heart bursting with pride:: :D PsychTau |
Okay here is ours.
I believe in Theta Chi, its traditions and its ideals. Born of sturdy manhood, nurtured by resolute men, enobled by high and sacred purpose, it has taken its place among the educational institutions of America as a promoter of knowledge, an advancer of culture, and a builder of character. It inspires true friendship: teaches Truth, Temperace and Tolerance, extols virture, exacts harmony, and extends a helping hand to all who seek it. I belive in the primacy of Alma Mater; in the usefulness of my Fraternity, in its influence and its acomplishments and I shall do all in my power to perpetuate its ideals, thereby serving my God, my country and my fellow-man. |
The Object of Alpha Omicron Pi
The object of the Fraternity shall be to encourage a spirit of Fraternity and love among its members; to stand at all times for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty; to strive for and support the best interest of the colleges and universities in which chapters are installed, and in no way to disregard, injure, or sacrifice those interests for the sake of prestige or advancement of the Fraternity or any of its chapters. http://www.alphaomicronpi.org/conten...tageframe.html (Includes our Mission Statement, our Object and our Values.) The Sigma Tau Gamma Creed
I believe that the true spirit of Fraternalism is a personal devotion to one's ideals. it has its roots in definite, tangable things. it springs out of a love of God and worth of one's fellowman. It grows into qualities of mind and soul. It is not the attitude toward a few selected ends, but rather the abiding spirit in which all things are done, all difficulties met, all successes recieved, all obstacles overcome.
I believe that the true spirit of Fraternalism is a breath that breathes itself into the life and being of those who live it, becoming an unconscious part of them, ruling and molding their thoughts and acts. We may call it the right attitude towards life, towards the world, towards right and wrong, towards the beautiful and good, towards duty and faith in God. I believed that the true spirit of Fraternalism is a thing that grows. It is first associated almost exclusively with a narrow circle of fellow students, but it broadens with a widening understanding until it takes in all the important relationships of life. It enters the domain of private life as thoroughly as in public life. It teaches the fulfillment of obligations to school, state, and church. I believe that Sigma Tau Gamma endeavors to bind men together in a fraternal brotherhood based upon these eternal and immutable truths, which are set forth in the Principles and in the Code of Conduct of our Fraternity. In this belief, I will endeavor to make my college and my own chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma more honored and respected by all men, and will endeavor to conduct myself so that I will ever bring credit and honor to our Fraternity. |
Beta Sigma Phi does not have a creed (that I can find- sisters, correct me if I'm wrong), but we do have Opening and Closing Rituals and a Mizpah said at every meeting (which can be shared with all) that I think show very well what we are about:
Opening Ritual Sisters in Beta Sigma Phi, we pledge ourselves anew to the aims and purposes of our glorious sisterhood; more tolerance for our fellow beings through a better understanding of them; a clearer and deeper appreciation of the cultural and finer things of life for ourselves; and a determination to give the best that is in us to our sorority and to assist in any and every way to shed the light of our torch throughout the world. Closing Ritual Eternal Father, Shepherd of the Stars, guide us that we may follow only the Good, only the True, only the Beautiful. Hold aloft to us the guiding torch of wisdom and help us to push on, undaunted, toward its light. Illume our souls with Thy wisdom that we in turn may light the way for those who follow us. If the road we take seems obscured in dust, give us skill and grace to pave it with stars, to transmute the dust into stardust. Grant us such clearness of vision, such sweetness of spirit, such earnestness of purpose that we may follow the torch to our goal. Mizpah May the Lord watch between me and thee, while we are absent one from the other. |
Thank you to my sister, PsychTau, for listing AST's creed and beliefs. I was going to do if she hadn't.
