What movies which were box office flops did you enjoy when they left the theater?

GLITTER. It wasn't THAT bad. I have seen worse.
WHO'S THAT GIRL? I loved that! (Madonna back in the 80's)
DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN (Loved Aidan Quinn)

BAPS :D -- I cried when I saw it @ the end.

That is the only one @ the top of my head.

& Major Payne was a HILARIOUS MOVIE. I'm gonna be on you like white on rice on a paper plate in a snow storm, LMAO

I loved BAPS too!!! I thought the movie was so cute. :D

Even though I loved the movie, wasn't Love Jones considered a flop? I know I heard it didn't get the recognition or media hype.

I liked BAPS, Disorderlies, How To Be A Player, and Blankman.

BAPS and Disorderlies are kind of similar, if you think about it. I couldn't think of any others this morning.

Major Payne WASSSSS funny as heck!

I loved BELLY by Hype Williams. Or is it that I just love Nas....?:D

I must say you guys have done a good job of listing movies I loved all of them!

I really like Hav Plenty even though everyone else that I know hated it and thought that it was stupid. I thought it was cute and I like the fact that he talked to the audience during the movie.

OHHHHHHHHH MY GOSH! Rosewood was great. I actually cried when all those people came out of hiding in the woods. That was such a good movie!

I hope most of these are on DVD. I'd love to purchase them.

ROSEWOOD was da bomb!! Ving Rhames kicked butt. I need to add that to my video collection fa sho.

I really liked Center Stage. The lead guy, the teacher is so good. I had to find out more about him after watching that movie.

A couple of favorites, Office Space and Best in Show

Best in Show was hilarious!!! I watch it every time that it comes on HBO. It was so stupid but that movie was really funny. Especially the song in the end, "Bow Wow!"

I thought it was one of his best efforts, and it's my fav Spike Lee movie. Also, my man Isaiah Washington is in that movie (he's manly even when he is playing a gay character).


<best in show> "God, loves a terrier" had me cracking up. but the all time favorite line. "We enjoy the same things, sunsets, snow peas... We can spend all day talking or not talking"

Poetic Justice.

I thought Janet Jackson's portrayal of a "home girl" was a tour de force. For someone who grew up under Poppa Joe's thumb, and who lived a very sheltered life, she played the hell out of the gum-smaking Justice. And Regina King is just a really good actress, she makes just about anything she's in better.

Low Down Dirty Shame.

I don't know, I just liked this movie.

Again, I don't know, I just like the movie.

2D, I know you didn't say Crooklyn! I thought that I was the ONLY person in the world that liked that movie! I brought my copy for my students to watch and they really enjoyed it. It's a classic.

Yeah, Belly was definately tight. I actually bought the movie I liked it so much. Rosewood was a flop??? The Brothers??? What are these people smoking?

Okay I have liked and have most of the movies that we consider to be "flops". But haven't we all noticed that most of these movies are geared toward the AA community? What is this telling us?;)

I loved this one too! This movie was so funny! The white dude who rapped through the whole thing was the best. "Stop that, top that, you don't really wanna, wanna try to top that."

Anyway, I liked Just Another Girl on the IRT.

Me too!!!!! I remember my uncle had the tape for the longest and I never got around to seeing it! I was happy when I finally did, but some of the events in the end :confused: me and I was like WTF??? But I still enjoyed it nonetheless....

A recent box office flop I liked was The Transporter.

For some odd, and unexplainable reason, I loved Teen Witch. The rap part was the funniest. Also, I watch Son-in-law a lot. I don't know why, but I think it's hilarious. Also, Bedazzled and Corky Romano. I made some friends watch those movies. We kept rewinding the Sensitive Guy portion of Bedazzled. It was sooo funny!

OMG...I liked it tooooo!!! LOL

I liked when he "sang the song" and everyone was jamming. That had me in tears.
