Guilty Pleasures??

So ok, I hate to admit it, but I LOVE the Jusin Timberlake single. For some reason, every time I'm going to a party I get it stuck in my head. My sisters always laugh at me cuz I always bust it out on the walk over.

Whats your guilty pleasure???

**Just be limber, BABY* LOL, hahhaha

WPISweetie 11-30-2002 06:18 PM

Okay, this is super embarrassing, so don't laugh TOO hard when you read it (or at least don't TELL me you laughed too hard!)...

I LOVE Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen!! I love their movies, their TV shows, everything! (Well, not the ones from when they were like 4 years old and making those detective movies or whatever). I don't even know what is about their stuff that I like so much - I just do...

Oh well, I guess everyone has their guilty pleasures... :)

UofIL AXO 11-30-2002 06:32 PM

I love MTV's "Tough Enough" though I hate wrestling ... odd! I don't know many other girls that share my secret guilty pleasure.

LeslieAGD 11-30-2002 06:36 PM

Every once in a while I still pull out the ole New Kids on the Block tapes ;)

OMG! That's a guilty pleasure if I ever heard of one!

ZTAngel 11-30-2002 06:51 PM

When I do the commute from my parents' place in Ft.Lauderdale to school in Orlando (about 3 hours away), the only thing that keeps me awake while I'm the road is if I put a tape cassette of Madonna's "Immaculate" album. I'll just jam out to it and sing all the words at the top of my lungs.

That's funny. Last night we were having an argument over who the members were. One of my friends swore that Mark Whalberg was a member along with his brother.

Anyway, mine is MTV's Real World. I get so pissed at the people on that show but watch it every week.

it's ok, we may laugh, but we all watched the Justin Timberlake special on the Justification album together. we like it too....and hey you can always make fun of us for our Michael Bolton obsession :D i mean you've been at the house when we bust out singing "how can we be lovers if we can't be friends"....not to mention our love of the Golden girls theme song

FAB*SpiceySpice 11-30-2002 07:33 PM

My long list of guilty pleasures include:

New Kids On The Block (I still have some CD's of theirs.... )
I am a die hard *NSYNC fan....and I like the Backstreet Boys as well
I absolutely LOVE Michael Bolton
I love love LOVE Making The Band....and Tough Enough (I am a dork, I admit it! :D)
And this is the most embarassing....my favorite song, of all time, that I will play even though NO ONE has ever heard it before, is "Lady With The Red Dress" by Snow....an old song, I get tons of crap for that one from my friends but hey, whatcha gonna do?

fresh oven-baked Pillsbury cookies

CarolinaCutie 11-30-2002 10:35 PM

I like it when he says, "Here baby, hold my jacket"... I mean really, that's funny stuff. I adore that song.

My quilty pleasure is expensive makeup... nothing thrills me more than a Chanel Glossimer. Oh, I am also fond of Corn Pops straight out of the box.

Hahaha I totally know what you're saying about the Justin song....also the part when he goes "I just love your....brain" that cracks me up for some reason. :D

I too have a thing for expensive makeup....that and expensive perfume....my perfume collection probably rivals some famous people's.....it's truly pathetic how much cash I spend on makeup and perfume....yikes! :D

juniorgrrl 12-01-2002 03:10 AM

I have a Hello Kitty fascination/obsession. When I'm having a bad day, I buy myself some Hello Kitty something or another.

I also play Dance Dance Revolution, at the mall, in front of people. And I look like a big stupid dork, but I don't care. Its *fun*

OMG!!! I used to love Snow! I bought his tape and all my friends were like "who is that?" and I got picked on. Yes, I do like that song... but my fave is Informer.

now don't laugh

Teletubbies!! I like them because they are cheerful and I wish I would be like that more. Most of the time I am crabby. I have lots of Teletubbies stuff - I think I can get away with it because I work in an elementary school. (You should see my library office)

KappaKittyCat 12-01-2002 02:47 PM

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Also Sesame Street (old-school), but I don't really have any guilt over that pleasure.

RubberSoul 12-01-2002 02:56 PM

Ok I am a big freaky dork, so I have a ton......here are some:

I LOVE BARRY MANILOW!!!!!!!!! (Ohhhh Mandy....well you came and you gave.......)

Neil Diamond

John Denver (I have a lot of guilty musical pleasures....)

The late, great Divine

Zorro The Gay Blade (HYSTERICAL movie)

Chocolate chips, marshmallows and a little butter mixed up, melted in the microwave and eaten with a spoon (PMS special!)

Barbies

Spongebob Squarepants (when the theme song starts, my daughter yells "Mom, your show's on!!!!!)

Game Show network......I love Match Game, Family Feud.....I admit that I love Richard Dawson and Bert Convy

Blue's Clues (but I like the old-school, with Steve)

I think I have sufficiently embarrassed myself for one day

Pleasures...

Mmm, People InStyle, or any wedding or Oscars special issue of a trashy gossip magazine. I love all the pictures of gorgeous dresses and fashion mistakes. The only thing better than this is sharing one with my best friend and insulting the tacky ones together.

I also adore pineapple malts from Dairy Queen, Harrison Ford in The Empire Strikes Back, and VH1 Behind the Music.

OMG! I used to be way into Teletubbies! I was commuting in my first semester of college, and was getting up really early, and I'd watch them before leaving. It was usually the only bright spot in my day!

I went as far as collecting all the keychains from Burger King when they came out - I even had to buy one on eBay to complete the set

:D

tinydancer 12-02-2002 01:10 AM

I know what you mean about getting up early and watching Teletubbies. They come on here at 6:30 so I watch while I am getting ready for work. At least I start out the day cheerily!

MoxieGrrl 12-02-2002 11:21 AM

Sweet Valley High Books-because sometimes my brain gets tired. :)

Any John Waters movie...I know all of the words to most of them.

The National Enquirer...it makes me feel like I know the stars personally. hehe

axotiger 12-13-2002 10:58 AM

The youngest brother in 7 Brides for 7 brothers was Riff in West Side Story.

axotiger 12-13-2002 11:54 AM

Oh wow, I never realized that.

7 Brides for 7 Brothers used to be one of the few movies that my grandma had at the farm in illinois. So in a given summer when we'd visit [from nj] we'd watch it like 3 times. It was on earlier this year and i was making dinner and flipping through channels... it was on.. and i was so excited that i called my mom just to tell her it was on. haha

Normally I wouldn't ask...especially someone I don't know at all...but I'm too curious not to:

Why just one week a month? I mean, why not spread it out? And is it always the same week?

This may just be the stupidest question I've ever asked, but I'm really confused.

As for my guilty pleasure - having sleepovers with my friends - and not even THOSE kind of sleepovers. I always wanted my own room and my own bed and everything, then I lived in the sorority house and got used to living with a bunch of people I was really close to. I miss being surrounded by friends constantly and being able to find someone to talk to whenever I wanted to. Now I get lonely in my room by myself, especially since my family and I have so many issues and I don't really talk to them, so I always stay over someone's place at least once a weekend or have a friend stay at my house. It's comforting to know I'll have someone to talk to when I wake up, I guess.

RedHotChiO 12-13-2002 06:57 PM

Hmm...

I think that my guilty pleasure is lip gloss. Like CarolinaCutie I have about five different shades of Chanel glossimer and I've gone through five tubes of Unity lipgloss alone. I'm constantly looking for new colors to buy.

I'm a fairly big handbag fiend. I think I have about twenty, but if I count all of the crazy ones that people have given me I probably have like forty.

Oh, and I'm totally with you on the Mary Kate and Ashley thing. I love watching the Fox Family channel. That's where I first saw my future boyfriend Hayden Christensen (aka Darth Vader) on Higher Ground.

sigkapdancer 12-14-2002 01:56 PM

My guilty passion is Lifetime movies. They are so great! And I still have my Color Me Bad cassette tape. Someone mentioned musicals--I've never felt guilty about those! (uh-oh, maybe I should be!)

Madonna is the best! I was raised on her music (I have an older sister) so I love her old stuff! Also: When I take baths, I always light candles, even though it's only me; I have eaten cake for breakfast before; I watch trading spaces---but only if Ty Pennington is on (nothing against Amy Winn); I STILL watch Survivor, and will tape it if I have class (also Buffy, Angel and Elimidate); and I love the old Nancy Drew books (the hard cover ones from forever ago).
I have one that's a little harder to explain.....I love the smell of horses.....I hate the smell of the mess they make, but them...I work at a summer camp as a riding instructor and it's the ony time I get to spend around them, and I always give them big hugs and inhale....after the first week or so, it's worn off, but for that first little while.....
Yeah, I'm a nut.

YAY...i'm a Nancy Drew fanatic! I own over 188 Nancy Drew books!!:D
I'm also addicted to eBay...it's amazing what you'll find!
I'm addicted to watching Law & Order, CSI Miami, Freinds, Will & Grace, & anything on AMC or TMC...especially the musicals!!! (I ADORE Audrey hepburn & Humphrey Bogart!)
I'm ashamed to say that i also HORDE purses n shoes... (i have over 35 purses n bags & over 45 pairs of shoes/boots!)
This isn't so much a guilty pleasure but it's VERY uncommon here in MIAMI.. I LOVE Punk Rock (guys w/ tats & peircings are HOT);)
Come to think of it, i think i'm just a cumpulsive shopper!

- my collection of Laura Ingalls Wilder books, I read them all at least once each year. I also have a bunch of my old Trixie Belden books @ my mom's house.

- MUSIC!!! Guilty pleasures are the Bay City Rollers and Donny Osmond (I'm sorry, but I still think he's just wonderful!). A Flock of Seagulls, Duran Duran...I adore just about any horrid British 80s synth-pop-new-romantics stuff.

- American Idol, I can't wait for the 2nd series

- Cartoons! I'll watch Arthur, Powerpuff Girls, and Dexter whether the kids do or not...and adore Looney Tunes, Animaniacs and The Jetsons. I still miss Animaniacs and have hours of eps on tape.

- Lip Balm. Yep, just simple ole lip balm. Carmex always works, or Chap Stick medicated

- InStyle magazine. Not that I could actually wear anything in it (I'm a 'Grace' mag type girl, which rocks!) but InStyle is so fun to read.

- Movies -- every version ever filmed of Little Women; Desk Set (Hepburn and Tracy), Never Been Kissed, Pretty in Pink, My Fair Lady, and any and everything Python!
