LA!
If my work schedule/travel schedule works out you know I will!!
|
I'll probably be going to the Southeast/Mid Atlantic combined Regional Conference in February. Anyone out there planning on going?
|
Pacific Northwest in Portland this year...I'm happy and sad though. Regional is a blast, but PNW & SW combined was soooo much fun. THE WEST IS BEST! :D
|
hmmmm....
If west is the best then how come the outstanding NORTHEAST cleaned up on convention awards this year???
|
Oh No!!!!!!!
Game On!!!!!!!!! It is bragging rights time now........... :D
Laura[B][darkred[/] |
well that didn't work
see what happens when you get to confident in thinking you know this html coding stuff! hehehe :)
Laura |
Oh, no-no-no! The WEST (did I mention it's the best? ) reaped PLENTY of awards.
|
oh no i say!
I will have to get my hands on the official list...I was too busy handing them out to all those great Northeast chapters to remember who won what!!
|
Aphigal, sweetie...we both know what the statistics say about who rocks the fraternity. The Northeast may have done well in convention awards, but so did the West. Here's a recap of the awards that were given out at the awards presentation (all I have in my bedroom):
West 1. Excellence in Chapter Forum (Bordeaux): Lambda (Berkeley) 2. Excellence in Philanthropy Programming (Silver): Iota Zeta (Mines) 3. Excellence in Philanthropy Programming (Bordeaux): Beta Pi (USC) 4. Excellence in Alumnae Relations Single Event (Silver): Zeta Beta (LMU) 5. Excellence in Alumnae Relations Singe Event (Bordeaux): Sigma (UW) 6. Excellence in Alumnae Relations Year Round (Bordeaux): Beta Zeta (Idaho) 7. Excellence in All Member Education and Retention (Silver): Theta Alpha (Linfield) 8. Ecellence in All Member Education and Retention (Bordeaux): Beta Zeta (Idaho) 9. Excellence in New Member Orientation (Silver): Delta Gamme (UNC) 10. Excellence in New Member Orientation (Bordeaux): Beta Pi (USC) 11. Outstanding Recruitment Song (Silver): Eta Delta (CSUH) 12. Outstanding Recruitment Song (Bordeaux): Lambda (Berkeley) 13. Oustanding Chant (Silver): Eta Delta (CSUH) 14. Outstanding Chant (Bordeaux): Beta Pi (USC) 15. Most Creative Scholarship Program (Bordeaux): Beta Pi (USC) 16. Excellence in Formal Recruitment (Silver): Delta Gamma (UNC) 17. Excellence in Formal Recruitment (Bordeaux): Beta Epsilon (UA) 18. Excellence in Formal Recruitment (Bordeaux): Beta Zeta (Idaho) 19. Most Improved Formal Recruitment (Bordeaux): Sigma (UW) 20. Most Improved Continuous Open Bidding (Silver): Beta Psi (SJSU) Northeast 1. Oustanding Chapter Finance (Silver): Zeta Phi (MIT) 2. Excellence in Officer Transition and Training (Bordeaux): Delta (Cornell) 3. Excellence in Chapter Forum (Silver): Zeta Phi (MIT) 4. Outstanding Website (Bordeaux): Delta (Cornell) 5. Most Innovative Member Development (Bordeaux): Delta (Cornell) 6. Highest GPA (Silver): Zeta Phi (MIT) In all fairness I must mention that the NE won a lot of awards at the awards luncheon & at the installation dinner (and that Aphigal's wonderful alum group also did very well). However, the West also did well at the luncheon so it would take a lot to convince me that the NE even comes close to the West (even if you break us into two regions)! |
WOO-HOO! High-five for THE WEST!
Don't forget Eta Delta also won Outstanding Chapter Sisterhood Song, and the THE WEST also had two Francis E. Willard award winners, two Ursa Major winners, a Michaelanean winner, and an Outstanding Chapter Adviser (Sigma Chapter). However, I'm in COMPLETE agreement that those fabulously enthusiastic Rhody Phis set a new standard for Alumnae Chapters! Way to go! |

Hi everyone this is my first time to Greek chat as a registered user. I'm really excited. I'm the new chapter President at St. Mary's University in San antonio, Tx. We won't be attending the south central regional conference this coming year because it falls at the same time as our rec. but we will be attending the one in LA instead!! I'm so excited and look forward to meeting those of you who will be there. I've heard good things about the Southwest region!:D
|
I may be attending the Upper Midwest conference as an adviser. If I do, I am looking forward to it, as this is the first major event I have done with International.

Pacific Northwest
I might be attending the Pacific Northwest regional conference if time and finances permit. I should know more soon!
|
Sistermadly, that's great! If you make it to Portland, we'll have to introduce ourselves--keep me posted!

Regionals....
Hi All,
Amidst all the fun of meeting sisters and getting together to better Alpha Phi and yourselves, could I ask one favor.... When you go to Regionals, please remember to thank the Alumnae volunteers who organize everything. Regionals are a blast to attend (and to plan) but it is a lot of work and it does take a great deal of scheduling and planning and time...And those that do it are doing for their simple love of Alpha Phi. So when you go, ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY but remember to say thanks too. Thanks for listening. AOE Always Maharet ;) |

I know you are going to PDX Sistermadly and I'll see you there. Now if I could only figure out who CA in CA is???? Any hints for me?
See you in PDX in a couple of weeks!!!!! (And Yes, the WEST is the BEST, but the NORTHWEST is the BESTEST!!!) ;) |
Hi Yogi!
A CA in CA isn't in Canada, which is what I thought at first. I'm sure we'll get to meet her at conference! |
Oh I know that. It's a Chapter Advisor in California... hmmm, now who could that be? I've got an idea or two...
|
:D :D :D
I'll never reveal! HAHAHAHA! |
can someone please explain
Since i was just initated in November as an Alum can someone tell me what goes on at regional conference? I unfortuantely will be at a cousin's wedding i am being strong armed to go to by my mother so i will miss the Los Angeles one:(
Laura:) |
I know who a CA in CA is, but I will not reveal. I figured it out based on who she roomed with at Convention.
A lot of stuff goes on at Regional Conference and exactly what it is changes from region to region. There are basic workshops that are done in every region for all attendees such as this year's foundation and committee on leadership workshops and the State of the Fraternity address. Then there are specific workshops for training different officers and for alum groups. Last year when we had our joint conference it was really great b/c the Alum group members got to meet with Jean Tindall and Sally Grant who were then our International President and the NPC Chair. We have a reception on Saturday evening for all advisors and we have a great time! Anyway, I am sorry that you can't make it but I look forward to seeing you next year. Laura |
Ah HA! But do you know who I am????????!!!!
|
Hmm... then I should know who a CA in CA is... ;)
|
Heck, I don't even know who I am half the time! ;)
|
I do not know who YogiPhi is. Based on the fact that we don't have a CRC in the PNW right now and I can't think of who else would be going to Regional Conference I can think of the following people: the CA at UBC and the BC Alum Group Pres. who may be attending Regional Conference in Portland. I don't think YogiPhi is Penny b/c I think that Penny is SisterMadley's sponsor based on information I've read on here.
Am I on the right track? :-) LD |
