The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Did anyone catch the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last night?

First of all, I was shocked that it was aired at 9pm! Now, granted, my kids were already in bed, but that is still a bit early for this.

There were thong, bare booties, boobies...the whole nine bouncing down the catwalk.

If you saw it, do you feel that it was appropriate for prime time television?

Here's a link to the Yahoo story about all of the complaints that the FCC has received today about it...

Anything will air...

Soror, remember November is Sweeps month...

In some cities, the CBS affiliate station that it was to air on taped the the show and aired it some time after hours.

I also saw the show. I live in Atlanta and it aired at 9:00. I was flipping between this and Fastlane.

I don't think it should have been shown on CBS. Maybe on a cable channel like E! or something like that, because it may have had the opportunity to be shown later on that night. On a channel like CBS, there's no way they could have shown it any later than 9:00. I also think that it's NOT for little eyes to see. This was for the grown folk :D

I was saying to myself "this is NOT realistic underwear" It's purely fashion!! But overall I thought the show was pretty good (but I enjoy fashion shows anyway). I could have done without the thong and booty shots every couple of seconds. I want to see the ensemble, not your azz.

I too agree they could have put it on the E! channel/cable or showed it on Network TV at 10. Because not all kids are in bed by 9 and then you have the Bae-Bae kids who tell their parents when they need to go to bed. :p

i'm surprised but i did like the fashion show. i loved the music. and didn't tyra banks look nice?

i had no problem with the time b/c parents should control what their children watch. my grandmother always monitored what i was watching.

Even though I think that all kids should be in bed by the 9pm (I know mine is) it is still a bit much for prime time TV. I know most teenagers are not in bed by 9, and do they really need to see up close and personal (i.e. booty cracks) what the media thinks defines beauty?

They're doin it again!!!!

I missed it but hopefully I'll catch the rerun. I don't know if I'll watch the entire thing though, something else always comes on to grab my attention - Probably the O.C on Fox because that's at the same time.

Gamma_girl52, I didn't know Fastlane was still on. What channel airs it now?? I used to watch that when I was in ATL too - cheesy as the show is sometimes:)

Remember,

November is sweeps month. We will see just about anything on TV this month.

The post I made was old! Fastlane doesn't come on anymore :( I was hurt. MTV did show it at one point but not anymore.

Well I'll prolly peep this fashion show out...just because I'm curious to see what they'll be showcasing this year.

see what happens when you don't sleep for days on end:D

ttt

Tonight!

gamma_girl52 12-06-2005 12:49 PM

I noticed that it comes on even later now at 10. But it looks like it'll be good.

Is this going to be Tyra's LAST runway show? I could have sworn that I heard that this was going to be her last one, then she is officially retiring from modeling.

pretty edAKAted 12-06-2005 02:14 PM

i just saw a commercial for it tonite 10/9 central i cant wait. i have never watched one before. i wonder what new lingerie they have.

jitterbug13 12-07-2005 12:24 AM

I saw most of it. I thought it was pretty good. Some of the undies are in their catlogs but most of them will never be worn. They make they just for the show or only sell them in a few stores (NY, LA, etc.)

I thought it was cute when Seal and Heidi blew kisses at each other (awww).:)

Ricky Martin's performance has me wondering about him (if you know what I mean).

I think Tyra shouldn't totally give up her day job. She has AMTM, but I don't think that talk show is going to last long.

Question: I saw Usher in the audience. Was his girlfriend one of the models?

StarFish106 12-07-2005 09:09 AM

Heidi and Seal: i still don't get it

Some of that stuff you couldn't wear anywhere but I loved the peachy melon colored set that was near the end. I loved that color.

When the model lost her shoe she kept it movin' (note: pay attention all you ATM contestants, she didn't stop the flow)

Yup that was Tyra's last strut as a model Period. She is giving it all up. She said she wanted to go out on top. I can live with ATM but the talk show...ehh I dunno on that. You may wanna make special appearances in shows from time to time. Do a clothing line, but DON'T rely on the talk show...please:rolleyes:

Ricky...what was up with the wanna be mohawk hair? Looked a little strange and no you can't dance sweetie.. (lmao @ Jitterbug's observation...hmm;) )

Nice show though

gamma_girl52 12-07-2005 10:44 AM

I agree, nice show! Tyra did her thing...I don't think she should give up VS. Even if that's all she chooses to do as far as modeling, she should stay!

I've been a Seal fan since Kiss From A Rose. :p

I also think it was a nice show. As much as I dislike Naomi's overall attitude, she always does well.
