From a Sistafriend...
Loviest95,
May GOD bring you and your family strength and comfort during these trying times. I hope the following helps you..... [b]Sometimes life seems hard to bear, Full of sorrow, trouble and woe It's then I have to remember That it's in the valleys I grow. If I always stayed on the mountain top And never experienced pain, I would never appreciate God's love And would be living in vain. I have so much to learn And my growth is very slow, Sometimes I need the mountain tops, But it's in the valleys I grow. I do not always understand Why things happen as they do, But I am very sure of one thing. My Lord will see me through. My little valleys are nothing When I picture Christ on the cross He went through the valley of death; His victory was Satan's loss. Forgive me Lord, for complaining When I'm feeling so very low. Just give me a gentle reminder That it's in the valleys I grow. Continue to strengthen me, Lord And use my life each day To share your love with others And help them find their way. Thank you for valleys, Lord For this one thing I know The mountain tops are glorious But it's in the valleys I grow.! |
May the lord bless you and your family!

BE BLESSED
Some words for those in need of encouragement and prayer:
Put your confidence in God. Trust in God's care in the midst of your fear. When all seems dark, one truth still shines bright. When God is for us those against us will not succeed. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? ~Psalm 56: 4 (NIV) |

Soror being deployed
Sorors,
PLEASE pray for one of our sorors in Columbus, Ohio. :( She is being deployed next weekend. I have prayed over this and am constantly praying. But I am getting scared. You all know I am away from home, and this is one of my GOOD sororfriends. I am trying to put it in God's hand and not worry, but this is hard for me. I am terrified, if you want to know the truth. She has a daughter who I think is only 4 years old (I forget, she's a mature little girl). Sorors, fellow Greeks, and SF's alike, please pray for her, and for PEACE. |

God's comfort can and will sustain us in our time of grief. In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). God blesses us with a love that is greater than we can comprehend. In times of suffering, He beckons us to throw ourselves into His arms and let His presence salve our wounded heart. Invite the Holy Spirit, also called the Comforter, to fill you to overflowing with God's peace and joy. Even in the midst of grief, you can experience the peace that God gives to you in times of suffering. http://www.cbn.com/spirituallife/cbn...eets/Grief.asp |
My prayers are with you!
Hey Afrochic,
My prayers are with you. May you find peace in knowing that God's strength is made perfect in our time of weakness. |
Thank you all for your prayers and kind words on this board and through email. God is good. My father has made a complete turn around. He had developed an infection which was shutting his body down quickly. He is now walking and speaking again. As I've told some of you, my father has Alzheimers which he developed early, so I had to have him admitted into a nursing home. He's doing fine and worrying everyone at the nursing home telling them what he's not gonna do, so basically he's back to normal.
Thank you :) |

Ladies,
God is SO GOOD!! The soror was sent back home!!! They didn't want her to go. I don't know why, and don't care!! I'm selfish and I'm glad she's home!!!! :D |
Afrochic,
It is good to hear that your father is doing better. Continue to be blessed and stay strong. "God is our refuge and strenght a very present help in trouble."Ps. 46:1 |
This is such a moving and inspiring thread, and I am so glad that I found it.
If I could ask you to remember CJ ("WhiteDaisy128") in your prayers. She is a Delta Gamma, aged 21. Her Delta Gamma mother passed away on March 10th, 2003 after a battle with cancer. Say a prayer for a DG Thank you everyone and God Bless. |

Sorry, long...have to vent PLEASE READ!!
I just want you guys to lift up my friend in prayer. She is in a "relationship" with a "man" that is absolutely destroying her. She was pregnant and he treated her like crap! He didn't buy the baby not one thing...she was struggling financially and he didn't even offer to buy her any maternity clothes...she walked around for the whole 9 months in size 0 (literally) clothes. He is big-time in "pharmaceutical sales", and walking around in $900 Prada shoes and such, and up until the baby's birth (yesterday) he'd bought the baby NOTHING! It hurt my SOUL to hear her complain, knowing full well that the next time he came around she would let him in. I don't understand how someone with so much book sense could be so stupid!! He came out of his mouth saying that "I know I won't love the baby the same if it's a girl because I want a boy!" so she was afraid to get an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby, and she convinced herself that it was a boy...long story short, she had a baby girl yesterday. :o NOT only that, the baby was born with a serious birth defect (won't say which...) that seriously alters her appearance. My friend already seems like she is slipping into depression. She said she doesn't want us to come to the hospital because the baby is "unattractive". Her "man" wasn't there for the birth (surprise) and when she told him of the birth defect, he waited ALLLL day to come to the hospital, and then told her that he wouldn't be able to bring her and the baby home because he has to go 'out of town on business'. (Nucca acts like he works on Wall St or something  ). Anyway...I just wanted my GC Fam to join me in praying for my friend, I am really scared for her and the baby, especially the baby, because I feel like this baby is already coming into the world without her fair share of love :(. I want to help her, but she is shutting us out already. This whold situation is bringing me to tears because I love my friend, and I just wish there was something I could say that could make her snap out of it!
