Just wanted to see what you are running for in the upcoming elections. :)

I am running for Alumae Relations Chair (which will be merged with Public Relations Chair) and Spirit Chair. I'm not going for excutive postions because I am a senior graduating in May. So it would not be benefical to the chapter when I leave mid way through my position. And since we r a smaller chapter, we need sisters to run for offices.

I have turned in forms for Rush Info Manager and Scholarship Chair. Hopefully I will get chosen for one, since they are not voted on.

ActuallY I have been scholarship chair before (my freshman to sophomore year, I am a junior now), but now as my chapter is starting to reorganize itself I am finding out that a lot of little things that we do as a chapter aren't entirly correct. So I would like to restablish the scholarship program so that in the future we may be a little more organized and push getting better grades.

New Member Coordinator, Philanthropy Chair, Recording Secretary, and Greek Council Rep.
Most of the above are to fall back on. I am holding out for NMC... as many of you know! :)

i'm planning on running for recording secretary, possibly corresponding secretary, and maybe historian since i'm always taking pictures. i'm not going out for any exec offices since a lot of the upcoming seniors are running for them i want them to have them first considering i will be here for another 2-3 years.

Well update on me and running for offices, is that I had interviews yesterday with the seniors and our advisors. So we shall now just have to wait and see.

What are some of them? I am running for philanthropy too, and can always use help!

Our recruitment chair resigned from her position, so after elections, I am now the new recruitment chair. Wish me luck because I only have 3 months to get everything done for recruitment!!!

AGGHH! How long do you all have to wait to run for office? I can't hold office until next spring, after two semesters in ADPi. If I could run next fall, I would want to be: Fraternal Relations Chair, Social Chair, Gift Mart Chair, Special Events Chair(just to try and win Derby Days, hell yeah!), Scholarship Chair, Recruitment, or MEVP.

In my chapter you can run for things just about right away...we have even had alpha's hold offices...most of this has to deal with the size of our chapter ~50 sisters...I personally became scholarship chair (the first time), the second semester I was there...so only a couple of months after being initiated...

My chapter was the same way...I joined through formal recruitment and was appointed spirit chair and co-incoming music chair a week after I joined. Not huge positions, but was a little overwhelming right at the beginning of my involvement!

bumping because we have officer interviews tomorrow... well today technically, and i'm really nervous.

i have other choices too, but that is my top choice

ok, the slate for elected officers was announced today, and i got none of the offices i ran for that are elected, including the one i want over all else, MEVP. But i'm also excited, because i know the women who are slated for MEVP, Panhellenic Delegate and Property Manager are going to be totally awesome in those positions.

next week i find out if i got philanthropy chair, or formal recruitment chair, or nothing at all. i'm thinking from the way that my interview went that were i slated for anything it would probably be philanthropy, because i was asked the most questions about that and MEVP.

it was hard enough waiting a day to hear the elected slate.. being anxious for a week is going to be torturous. wish me luck! i really want to help my chapter suceed in any way that i can!

That is the most positive attutide I have ever heard about elections! I think that is a GREAT way to feel.

Random but slightly relevant:

I coach a cheerleading squad right now and we just selected captains and had to give the "don't be upset...we need someone to be a leader among the non-leaders by showing respect and support to the leaders selected by the squad" speech to some of them. I swear it reminds me of a sorority more and more everyday!
