Hooray for Valdosta State
Valdosta State clinched the Gulf South Conference title today. It's the third time in a row they have done this. This means West Georgia is just a practice game for the playoffs. Isn't that right AGDLynn ? :p
|
And BlazerCheer should be atop the pyramid! Bet Carnation's excited.
|
Hooray, Valdosta! Good Luck!!! :)
|
Here is the Atlanta Journal Constituion article about it. :D

Yea for the Blazers!!!! Yep, BlazerCheer is wildly excited and is redoing her Thanksgiving holidays to cheer! And her whole high school all-star squad is traveling to West Ga next week to watch her there!
Y'all say a prayer for the team!:) |
Yup!
But then again, West Georgia wasn't predicted to have a great team this year because of coaching changes. Still, I know the players give their best every game or they wouldn't/shouldn't be out there!
There are 2 beautiful AGDs on the West Ga. squad...they got initated Friday night. Thinking about attending the V game. We have a LC coming..don't know if she wants to see a massacre, but then again #1 Okla. got beat yesterday! ;) :D |
Hey, that's GREAT! Tell both the girls good luck to their team. Will the Dance line perform as well?
|
I don't know about the dance line--the game is the day after the students get out and I know the dance line has to perform that Friday night. Whew! This will hugely affect our holidays and our high school daughters' school has now made the playoffs too!
|
Valdosta beat West GA so that makes the Blazer 11 -0 undefeated in the regular season once again.
Off to the playoffs for Valdosta now hopefully we will get a chance to whip up on Grand Valley State. |
BlazerCheer reports that the cheerleaders took the exit they were instructed to but ended up in Alabama! LOL!!!!!
|
Congratulations!
:p
I arrived late to the game (enjoying time with collegians, our visiting LC and other Brenau AGD). It was a good game, but I think that it could have been better if the field hadn't looked like Mud Bowl II, lol. We left at the end of the 3rd quarter cause I was freezing my feet off!! I saw the final score and realized that WGa had scored after we left, unfortunately so did VSU. Oh well, there's always next year!! (On to Basketball!!!;) :D ) Side Note: Carnation, I would have come looking for you but we got to the game late, and I was too cold to be hospitable, lol. Side Note 2: I did see a VSU bus heading the wrong way on the Cton Bypass, about 3 p.m. lol. |
Time for Revenge. Valdosta will play the team that upset them in the playoff last year in the first round. We will murder them this year.

Valdosta won again. Beat the team they lost too in the playoffs last year. They will play Carson Newman in Valdosta next friday.
On a side note, saw Blazercheer and the other cheerleaders doing their push ups after Valdosta scored. |
LOL about the cheerleaders! That's so mean that they have to do the pushups!
And on top of that....BlazerCheer and 7 of the others had to cheer at the basketball game later tonight! And now, all being from metro Atlanta, they have to drive home tonight for Thanksgiving break after having cheered both. Cheerleader abuse! Seriously, we're really excited about Valdosta and their fabulous season!!!:) |
;) :p :DSeriously, we're really excited about Valdosta and their fabulous season!!!
Is that the royal We? ;) :p :D |
Heck no! Just the Carnation family "we"!:D

ROTFL!!! Have you seen BlazerCheer's upper arms? She can probably do more than the football players can! |
Eee! I just saw where Valdosta beat Carson-Newman 31-28! Yeayeayeayeaaaaa! I think the next opponent is Texas A&M at Kingsville. Zntke, do you know any details?
|
It was a good game Valdosta was winning most of the game till the fourth inning when Carson came back and took the lead in the last minute of the game VSU scored a touchdown to win the game. Valdosta will play Texas A&M-Kingsville next week in Valdosta I believe. They win this next one and they will play in the national championship.
|
Texas A&M Kingsville is a good team.. They're from the Lone Star Conference. So is Central OK. We didn't play them this year but last year they spoiled our homecoming... Won by a large score... They've only lost 2 thus far and look to be pretty dominant. Hope ya'll kill 'em.
Their mascot is interesting though... Javelinas.. Never heard of 'em til we had to make homecoming shirts. http://www.desertusa.com/magnov97/nov_pap/javeline.jpg |
They have lost 2 allready? Thats good Valdosta is undefeated this year.
|
Javelinas? I'd better call BlazerCheer and tell her that! Our high school mascot was almost the javelina (a meeaan animal from south Texas) but we figured it'd be hard to fit into cheers!
|
Wow they talked about Valdosta State on ESPN. Valdosta State is big time now!lol :D
|
The other side of the bracket is Northern Colorado and Grand Valley State. Northwest Missouri State lost to Northern Colorado today :(, so no trip to Florence for the Bearcats this year.
Sidenote--What's up with D2 football teams and pushups? :p If blazercheers arms are anything like my two Sigma Kappa sisters who are Northwest cheerleaders...I'd want to stay on her good side. :p ;) :D At Northwest only the mascot Bobby Bearcat does the pushups. I'll never forget the game I went to when I was visiting as a senior in high school and Northwest scored over 70 points on a hot day...I felt so sorry for the mascot! |
If anyone wants to watch the game go to this site on December 7 at 1:00pm eastern time http://www.valdosta.edu/athletics/football.html# they have a live telecast online so everyone thats interested can follow the game. Hopefully you see the VSU cheerleaders doing alot of push-ups because that means we will be kicking butt.
|
I plan to be seated in front of the computer! I guess that'll be my only chance to see it!
LOL about BlazerCheer's arms--she has this small waist and average hips and if I tell you how much she can lift, she'll attack me! But her arms are so muscular that at 5'3", we have to get her shirts in men's small. |
I just remembered about this article and figured I would post it. Its about the West Ga game when a West Ga student tried to "behead" the VSU mascot.

Carnation, Carson-Newman is in my neck of the woods! It's in a neighboring county to Knox County. I saw the headline in the paper before I left work last night, and I thought, BlazerCheer's been doing pushups again! Go to knoxnews.com if you want to read our coverage.

So, is it possible Valdosta will play Northern Colorado? I could introduce BlazerCheer to some pretty neat Delts. We have a great chapter in Greeley. Award winner. Northern Colorado has been D-2 champion a couple of times in the last 4 or 5 years. |
I guess they could! And I bet that at this time of year, they'd prefer to play in Valdosta!
BlazerCheer would say--Bring on the Delts! |

Alabama is good. Although it's been mostly in the 50's and 60's in Eastern Colorado for the past several weeks -- which is not uncommon. Problem, of course, is that it could turn cold and snow at any time -- then be back up in the 50's. Great football weather -- for the most part. Carnation, The Northern Colorado Delts have an interesting background with cheerleaders. Four or five years ago they decided not to double up with another fraternity and a sorority at homecoming (less sororities than fraternities), and since some of the Delts were cheerleaders (don't even start on the gay thing, guys -- these guys are gymnasts, hockey players and track team members, staying in shape), the chapter teamed up with the cheer squad for Homecoming. They won two years in a row! Damned creative of them, I thought, and several of the guys got Homecoming dates with the Cheers -- yes, the female ones! I haven't been very active with the chapter for the past year, so I didn't realize the football team was doing that well this year. Around here, it's hard to see past Colorado, Colorado State and Air Force. |
VALDOSTA STATE IS IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!!! We play Grand Valley State in Alabama at 4pm on espn2. A true national championship #1 vs #2
|
YEAAAAA!!!! We can't wait for the game! And to see cutesie-wutesie little BlazerCheer cheering on national TV!!!!!:) I hope she doesn't read that.
Let's hear it for teams from Georgia! Besides Valdosta's championship game, Georgia Southern is in the national championship for Division 1-A and at this moment, Georgia is winning the SEC championship game!:) :) :) |
GEAUX (GO) DAWGS!!
To the Sugar Bowl!
And Ga. Southern beat Maine ( (. And Western KY won too!! I couldn't think anything better than to have the Dawgs beat FSU in the Sugar Bowl since cute Coach Richt used to work at FSU. We'll find out tomorrow if it is FSU or Southern Cal. Where the heck is Grand Valley State??? Are they playing there for the championship game? |
Grand Valley is in Michigan. We play them in Alabama next Saturday at 4 pm on ESPN 2 lie I mentioned earlier.:p
Another mod and I were hoping for this match up. I go to Valdosta as anyone can see. The other mod goes to Grand Valley. Can anyone figure out how I am talking about? :D Go DAWGS!! I knew they could do it. Its a shame UGA can't play a better team like Iowa or USC. :D |
The funniest thing about the VSU game was right after it when the VSU fans tore down the uprights. Never thought I would see that at VSU.
