Okay, so what's not fair?

TODAY, my list is:
-My friend Mickey decided to visit ME instead of having me come visit her. This means staying in Rolla instead of going somewhere like Columbia (where there are actually signs of life)

-I am the webmaster for my chapter. Everybody assumes that I will fix whatever THEY do to their computers. Bah!

-My grandparents are going on a random vacation to Florida and leave the 13th. I, on the other hand, have to stay in MO and do things like write papers and try to pass exams.

Turning in a folder of all the work you've for the semester and the teacher asks you if its legit in front of the whole class, when I said "It's straight", she said " It looks kinda thin "....

Totally know how you feel

My(biological) sister goes to school in a warm and sunny climate while I am stuck in freezing cold weather !!

My grandparents up and left for a month and a half excursion to Itatly ( SOOO JEALOUS ON THAT ONE)

Yes, yes, I spent all last semeter deleting emails from one of my best friends because she spent the semester abroad and went to ALL of the places in Europe that I haven't crossed off my list yet.

But I spent two weeks lounging on the beaches of Sydney, Australia, so she and I have this mutual envy thing goin' on ;)

Today it is...That when you go to McDonald's it is cheaper to buy more food rather than the amount you actually want to eat.

Today for me it is that the guy I have been talking to for the past 6 months and he told me that he was falling for me and I haven't heard from him in 2 days.. What is up with that?

and school just sucks!

that a long time friend of mine is pissed off at me because i am happy and in love. seriously, we've been friends since 1989 and she's been not talking to me, giving me grief ever since i met mr amycat.

well ^&%$ her is the point i am at today, a friend is HAPPY for her friend when she falls in love and is happier than she's ever been in her life, for chrissakes! all my other friends are thrilled for me, so what's her problem, oh yeah, she's jealous, jealous of mr amycat, jealous of me--how i look, that i'm tall and thin and she's not, just jealous all the way around.

sigh.

No es justo that the guy who owns the house we'd planned to buy for a year went up on the price. It's now out of reach. There are rarely any houses the size and price and location we need and I am just so pissed.:mad: No, more than that.

That I, an experienced software developer with a master's degree, can't get a freaking JOB!!! :mad:

Two tests this past week and two next week PLUS a speech....:(

Kent and I haven't spoken for two days. :mad:

And my grandpa's in the hospital again. :(

When I had to get a measels, mumps and rubella shot becaue the damn university decided to flag everyone's accounts RIGHT before enrollement for next semester and so if you can't proove immunization you have to get the shot.

Well after going out of my way to get the records from my former high school (who told me to go elsewhere for them)...I still got the shot because I wanted to be able to enroll today and get the classes I wanted.

And now, I have MODERATE side effects to the stupid shot (stiff neck and numb arm). THIS SUCKS Man...all for the enrollement!
SHEESH!

*Edited to add that I feel like a truck hit me! My neck really hurts, I'm cold and feel woozy. Good thing I didn't have plans for Friday night :( NOT FAIR!

*one of my long time serious boyfriends just turned into a serious crazy person adn started being a jerk to me at a party tonight

tonight was...some drunk bitch walks into your place, then leaves and a cop sees her drunk off her ass leaving your place....totally unfair for us

University politics & backstabbing administrators

I don't get to go home for T-giving b/c my first final is scheduled for the Tuesday after (and home is 5 hours away--can't even afford to skip those 10 hours in the car b/c I need to study)

I still don't have a job lined up and I will graduate in May...(doesn't sound like a big deal, but it is).

went to a party to nite... had a crappy time...

miss my whatever boy... and hate that i am sleeping alone....

It's 2:30AM and I'm about half done with homework.. Why am I here?

Working 11 hr. days and 6 days a week!

Got home lsst night fixed fast leftovers and as was taking the dishes upstairs, teh door bell ran.

Opened it and there was my ass that finally caught up to me!:eek:

It's not fair that on a day when my abs are sore you have to say something like that and make me laugh like I did--it hurt!

I have 3 papers due in the next 2 weeks, 2 major tests, a piano performance to prepare and I'm sick w/ upper respiratory crud. Not to mention the fact that my family is breaking up and I might have cancer. And my friends wonder why I look like hell all the time....:eek:

wow I hope things get better for you... that definitely takes the cake for being unfair :(

Thanks aprilxo. I have to say that in spite of everything, I'm so glad to be alive. Even in the shape I'm in right now. You have to look for the little things to be grateful for, or you will go crazy with self pity. If school is pissing you off, just be grateful that you can afford school and that you have the mental capability to get through college. If your kids/family are pissing you off, then be grateful that you have people there. Lots of people don't. So have a great week everyone!!

That is SO true and an attitude I try to have! (even though I do rant on occasion :)) But it definitely gives things perspective; that was rather good advice everybody should take to heart!

Had to sit through elections for 11 hours and 47 minutes today!

Even then I didn't win in my bid for Philanthropy Chair!
Loser of Presidential election slated only down to Philanthropy...even though he would have more than likely gotten whatever position he ran for.

I had way better ideas!

Had he ran for VP (like everyone thought he was going to) would have totally changed the composure of Exec!

Alright for the rest of my list:

Maybe you all can help me with this one... but it still fits into the category of life isn't fair: I met the man of my dreams in August and we dated for about a month. Things were fabulous. Same interests, same major in school, same 'career' in mind, talented, HOT, guy. In September, when I thought things were going to get serious, he tells me he is dating someone else. So here is November and I still haven't heard him mention this supposed other girl's name, let alone that he is dating someone. So I don't know whether to pursue and ask, or just admire from afar and wait for my next soulmate to come along. *sigh* :rolleyes:

Other things: I have been sick 5 times in the past 2 months. I was breaking out in hives for a while but i think that finally stopped.

I really need to go home to the bay area for thanksgiving. however, my boss in sacramento has told everyone that they are working the day after thanksgiving. there is NO way I am working in sacramento at 6 am the day after thanksgiving when I will be in the bay area on thanksgiving. keep your fingers crossed.

EEK i have my final solo in my voice class on tuesday. it's going to be recorded and critiqued. I hope my voice sticks around long enough and i don't get sick again!

I have more... but that's all i will complain about today.

What's not fair?
 

Well, it's not fair that my boyfriend lost his wife and child in a car accident a few years ago. It's not fair that his family is giving him a hard time about moving on with his life and being involved with me. It's not fair that he and I are both totally aware of how quickly someone you love can be taken away from you, and as a result we now freak out if the other one is late for a date or something. :(

It's not fair that my best friend is six months' pregnant and may lose her job because her boss is a jerk and doesn't want to give her maternity leave.

And on a much lighter note, it's not fair that my credit cards are maxed out just when I find a beautiful little cocktail dress that's perfect for the upcoming holiday parties. :mad:

I thought I found the man of my dreams we have been talking since june but it has been on and off because when things start to get serious he freaks out and doesn't talk to me for a couple days or a week.. And then last Tuesday he told me he was falling for me and I still haven't heard from him- it has been a week!!! That really sucks...

My credit cards are maxed out also..

And I have a test tonight in my night class then one at 8:00 in the morning and then 2 pictures due in my photography class on Friday and I still have to go to the lab and develop them..

When were all in 5th grade and they pull all the little girls aside outta gym to tell ya'll that someday you will start bleeding in a wierd place, we're left in the gym with the coaches who tell us that as soon as we tell a girl that we really like her we cant talk to her for a week. They told us we'd be in trouble if we broke the rule. lol.

We just had a website stolen from us.

We did it for a client, and were awating payment. Hadnt heard from them, looked up on line and found it. They had copied it off our site (temp location for approval) and pasted it into another site. I am pretty pissed. It was a $3,000 job.

Is there anything you can do about that?

That is illegal for him to do. Its probably a violation of Equal Opportunity laws, a wrongful termination case...much more trouble than he ever bargained for! She should bring it to the attention of his supervisor IMMEDIATELY. And talk to a lawyer about this.

Juniorgrrl, my friend IS a lawyer!!! She works for a law firm, and her boss is the head of the firm. He has agreed to give her maternity leave (just heard this today from her on IM), but he's being a real jerk about it and questioning her ability to work until the baby is born and put in the "appropriate number of hours," whatever that means.

As this guy is a lawyer as well, he's being very carefully to hint at things without actually doing anything blatantly illegal. She is interviewing for new jobs, and she has some wonderful prospects from other firms and organizations who offer better benefits.

Being a PR person myself, I suggested that if she were to lose her job, she could quite easily get a quick settlement out of him -- he's married to a pretty high profile elected official who probably would not want her name connected with a pregnancy discimination lawsuit. :p Never underestimate the power of the press!

Yeah, were suing them, but they declare bankruptcy, and then create another company doign the same thing. UGH..

Here's something that's not fair!

I've been interviewing with a company, and they're checking my references. I've provided them with 3 stellar references from my last company, and I can provide many more if they want. But they are insistent on getting someone from my previous employer. Trouble is, my boss from there has gotten married (and changed her name), quit, and moved away, so I can't find her! Pretty much everyone I knew from there has quit, and I don't have new contact info for them. So I won't get this job just because I couldn't find someone I knew THREE YEARS AGO. :mad: :mad: :mad:
