New years Eve plans?

So, I'm wondering who has plans yet? If you don't have plans, where would you like to go?

My choice : As of now I'll be in Germany. My family and I will be visiting the other half of our family during the weeks of Christmas and NYE. So, more than likely I will either make the 6 hour journey to Berlin from Obersdorf or I'll go to Zurich in Switzerland, which is a 2 hour drive. ( Swiss girls love american guys. )

H'mm. I have no idea what I'm doing for New Years... Right now I might be heading to St. Louis for a big party but that's not solid yet. If I get my way this break, I'll be spending it away from Missouri though... these Midwestern hills are driving me nuts lately!

I am hoping to head to TX and FL, actually. Making some visits to ppl I know...

:D

KSigkid 11-08-2002 02:10 PM

Probably coming back to Boston early from Christmas break, depends on my money situation though.

My parents are taking me and my sister on a family cruise. We'll be on the cruise ship somewhere in the Caribbean during New Years.

PandaOnProzac 11-08-2002 03:21 PM

Somewhere other than the Vegas strip where you'll have beer bottles thrown at you by wasted people.

amycat412 11-08-2002 03:24 PM

Kona, Hawaii is the leading choice for mr amycat and i right now.

bucutie02 11-08-2002 04:10 PM

Probably the annual New Year's Eve bash at my house! We give out so much stuff to everyone so when it turns midnight they have everything and anything to make noise!

UDZETA 11-08-2002 04:23 PM

Must likely in Ohio because my grandpa can not be left alone so my family will stay here unstead of St.Louis. But I like Christmas here but I will do something special for New Years!

ADPi~Ally 11-08-2002 04:59 PM

No plans as of yet. But prolly be going to a sister's house and having a party there or going to a bar/club. Then I can't wait when I will be in Denmark (or Sweden, Germany, Finland, etc) for New Years 2003/2004. There better be some hot guys there. HEHE......

SATX*APhi 11-08-2002 05:02 PM

It's a bit too early. I have over 2 1/2 months to figure it out.

Hermione 11-08-2002 05:02 PM

It's not even Thanksgiving yet!

I'm hoping to spend New Year's with some friends who will be in town visiting their parents, but I don't know.

aephi alum 11-08-2002 05:20 PM

No plans yet... like I said in the holiday plans thread, it depends on whether I'm working or not. Normally it's just my husband and me at home with some champagne... we don't like to be on the road ourselves or cause other people to be on the road (i.e. by having a party) on New Year's.

ladybug1116 11-08-2002 05:39 PM

Will be in Orlando on New Years. Don't know what we'll be doing, but I'll be in great company and that's what matters most :)

chopper816 11-08-2002 05:46 PM

ill probably be at our annual new years party, its always a good time! but im open to other ideas..

josh8o 11-08-2002 05:50 PM

a big thing is california is to go to lake tahoe and party on the strip. i'm not sure if i'm gonna go yet, but a lot of guys from my house will drive the 10 hours to get there.

ROWDYsister 11-08-2002 06:02 PM

My sisters and I are hitting NYC for New Year's Eve. Staying at a sister's apartment and being flown in on guest tickets. We should make t-shirts...;)

Another big thing to do is goto San Francisco. I like where Sacramento is. We are about 2 hrs aways from Lake Tahoe or San Fran. Hmm Lake Tahoe would be a good idea.....

Betarulz! 11-08-2002 07:07 PM

I'll be on the Carnival Conquest in the Gulf of Mexico...on our way to Montego Bay, Jamaica. I'll begin my new year with plenty of sun!

Sisterplum 11-09-2002 12:21 AM

Don't have specific plans yet...but I know I'll be back home in Halifax (Canada), partying it up with my friends and sorority sisters!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D

I can't wait!:D

EagleChick19 11-09-2002 12:27 AM

I'll be either working at home or just relaxing and celebrating with my friends...

NinjaPoodle 12-20-2010 02:00 AM

Old Thread, same question!

I'm not sure what I'll be doing. What will you all be doing?

DrPhil 12-20-2010 02:02 AM

Attending our annual NYE house party. :D

cheerfulgreek 12-20-2010 02:05 AM

Nothing really. I'm just bringing the New Year in with my mom. Then I fly out Jan 1.:(

Chicago88 12-20-2010 02:30 AM

I'll be in Chicago on navy pier. :)

I love navy pier. I love Chicago, period. We went there for Valentine's Day weekend this year, and I had a blast. There's so many fun places to go.

Chicago is my favorite place in the world. I just love it. I love the winters but the summers are great compared to the Texas summers here although I have been up there when it was 100 plus degrees but it was bearable because I was in Chicago.

lovespink88 12-20-2010 11:33 AM

Fiance said "I'll be in charge of New Years this year, don't worry about it!". Not having to plan anything sounded great, so I agreed. Unfortunately I forgot that his friends (who I am friends with also) are the cheapest people in the world. We wanted to do some kind of big downtown party (we were looking at Navy Pier too, Chicago88), but that's too much money for them.

Hey I'm all about being frugal, but it bums me out that they can't save up a little in advance and splurge on one night for something like New Years. And it's not they that they're broke either, they all have some kind of income, be it full time or part time.

Last time I checked with my friends they didn't have any big plans either. I think I'll try to get something last minute with them...and if not, fiance and I will still do something fun!

Munchkin03 12-20-2010 11:45 AM

I'm spending NYE with my best friends in the city...we're doing a prix fixe open bar dinner from 9-1. It's going to be like, $145 total, which is no biggie.

jennyj87 12-20-2010 01:01 PM

I will be in Boston! My friend from HS college friends got a hotel room so we're heading up. I'm really excited considering the last few new years have stunk.

LatinaAlumna 12-20-2010 11:47 PM

Mr. L.A. & I have reservations for dinner and then will spend a quiet evening at home. :D

AGDee 12-20-2010 11:50 PM

I will probably sleep through it...

33girl 12-21-2010 11:37 AM

One of the guys that I hang out with proposed going up to the old alma mater. This would be fun if I could be assured it wouldn't snow like crazy and they wouldn't spend the entire time trolling for 22 year old chicks. The place I went to last NYE closed a few weeks afterwards, so maybe I should just stay home. LOL

groovypq 12-21-2010 12:20 PM

Still trying to figure it out. Want to do something fun, but it's gotta be cheap. Either here or back in the hometown so we don't have to get a hotel room, but neither place does anything exciting. They're probably the last two towns in PA that don't drop something at midnight...

I may be there, albeit briefly. We're going out with a good guy friend (who's really wonderful) and his girlfriend (who's not!) for dinner, then possibly to Navy Pier. I leave the next morning, so we're playing it by ear.

Tulip86 12-21-2010 04:34 PM

I will either be spending new years eve with my boyfriend´s fraternity or out partying with some friends... hard to decide..
If I spend it with the boys it will be fun, but it´s a bit weird being one of the few girlfriends there. If I spend it with the girls I´d have to go to a club I very much dislike and a few girls who are also coming are just.. not my type of people..

Decisions decisions...

thetaj 12-21-2010 06:52 PM

I can't really come up with a non-incriminating description of my nye plans.

Oh it will be :D lol

DubaiSis 12-22-2010 04:11 PM

I'm starting NYE at a party for 3 and 5 year olds (no, I don't have kids) at a penthouse on Palm Jumeirah (google it), and then maybe dinner at Atlantis. But I hate paying big bucks for dinner, so maybe we'll go to dinner at a regular restaurant on the marina and watch the fireworks as we walk home in fantastic weather under the stars. They're big on fireworks here in Dubai and we live right by the beach so we can see a ton as long as we're outside. Last year we didn't factor in the fireworks and got home about 15 minutes too early. Oops!

groovypq 12-22-2010 05:36 PM

10 day forecast is calling for rain/snow mix on NYE. I know it's early, but SHEESH can't we get decent weather? This would be the third year in a row that weather screws with plans.
