Is the Brittney Murphy in the Eminem movie, "8 Mile" the same girl who was in Clueless? I'm thinking of the girl Alicia Silverstone did the makeover on.

yea it is, her name was "ty" on clueless.. she was also in "don't say a word" among other movies.

She's so weird....I hate how when movie stars get more famous they get waaayyy too skinny. Brittany Murphy...you will always be Ty to me.

Everytime I think see her, I can't help thinking of the party scene in clueless and "Rolling with my homies".

I saw 8 Mile and I thought Brittany Murphy looked like she was stoned most of it. I didn't like the way she did her makeup.

Did you see when Eminem was on the most recent MTV awards thing? He was up on stage, and the camera panned to Brittany Murphy. She might as well had a neon sign above her head that said, "I slept with him! Did you hear that everyone? Huh? Huh?"

I've seen that show a bunch of times (really when there is NOTHING else on) and I've never noticed that it's her voice.

Don't Say A Word was the movie she did where she plays a mental patient that knows a secret code that these guys need to get whatever it is they're looking for (Trying to be vauge for those who haven't seen it).
It's actually a very good movie! You should rent it!

Has anyone seen the previews for that movie starring her? It's like she's gone annerexic or something cuz I swear a comparison picture of her from JUST MARRIED and this movie...makes her look like she's lost 40 pounds or something (not that she was fat).

Yeah, she's on the cover of Marie Claire (I think?? Could be Glamour) this month and she looks like a friggin' skeleton.

Does anyone remember Brittany in that old sitcom they used to play on Disney? It was a spinoff of "The Torkelsons" where she played the daughter of the rich guy...

If you want to see Brittany acting like a damn crackhead, check out "SPUN" where she co-stars with Jon Leguizamo. She plays the crackhead role really well!

She looks like she has been smoking crack. Her face is sunken in, her bones protrude, etc. She looks sick. That dirty looking hair of hers is the worst. Does she wash it? She's one jacked up mess.

I also wish her hair was a more flattering blonde! Its like a weird orange color now and it just looks so fake!

Ok, my hatred for BM is starting to evaporate, and I'm feeling sorry for her. For a while, the girl was a bit player. Good actress, but never "the leading lady." She was probably working her butt off, knowing she's a good actress, but keeps hearing "lose weight." So, she loses the weight & gets some really big roles. Her new found fame validates all of her dieting. Her bf dumps her and she's stuck with an ED. Ok, purely speculation, but can't you see it happening?

Hollywood is crazy.

OTW, I just watched Spun last week. That movie was CRAZY.

She's a good enough actress and everything but she reminds me of my former bitch from hell roommate and therefore I can't completely dig her. And in Marie Claire she looks like a damn skeleton. Like go eat a burger or something. The story on her was interesting. She grew up in a poor single parent family and went thru a lot. Still, she is too thin and looks unhealthy.

i read an article in cosmo last year about the slimming down of hollywood...it showed pictures of several actresses (selma blair, brittney murphy, and others who i don't recall) who when they started their careers their bodies were that of a normal person, but they stopped getting parts (and i think one magazine called selma blair fat, which clearly she was not) so they have all lost significant amounts of weight in an attempt to maintain that super skinny hollywood stereotype and to be able to get parts. look at how many pretty major roles brittany murphy has gotten since shes lost all the weight in comparison to the smaller parts in smaller films before she lost weight..

its a sad thing that this is what these girls have to go through to be successful in their line of work.. -

I believe the term used to describe Selma Blair was "puffy." Obviously that's not the case, and she's always been skinny (a size 2 at the time the remark was made, I think), but she has a very round face which makes her look bigger, at first glance, than she is. The same thing with Kirsten Dunst -- she is bone-thin, but she looks like she's basically at a healthy weight at first glance because her face is rounder.

Brittany Murphy is so freaking hot. Brown curly hair, i'm telling you.

she's not hot, bad actress, and from what i've seen in interviews, doesn't seem very bright either.

Brittany Murphy claimed in an article in either Cosmo or Glamour that she's not anorexic; she just has a fast metabolism.
Now, there's a lot of people out there who are very thin because of a high metabolism (me all through high school). But, as you get older, you tend to gain weight...not lose weight! She looks about 20-30 pounds heavier in Clueless (circa 1995) than she does in this new movie she has out almost 10 years later.

Honestly, I don't understand how she expects people to believe that. She was a normal weight for YEARS (see Clueless, The Torkelsons spin-off, I think I remember seeing her in an episode or two of Sister Sister) before dropping tons of weight within the past year or so. It's got to be either an eating disorder or a coke habit.

Comments re: Brittany's weight are why I began the America and the Weight thread...We are crucifying her for her appearance...but she must need to do it to get more roles....SOMEONE told her she needed to lose weight.....Leo DiCaprio gained weight and no one said crap about him! If that was a woman, she'd be run out of town on a rail!!!

Leo gained weight, but he gained mass as well. I'm sure if you measure his body specifications according to the body mass index, body fat % or anyother medium he'd fall within what the medical community considers 'normal'. Brittany is sickening, it's like someone told her that calorie-counting is a game of who can hold their breath the longest.

There was a recent article in men's health regarding heart attacks and fitness. In short, it had the super-die hard elite marathon runners having about equal chance(s) of getting heart attacks for older males as the ones who didn't exercise at all. The moral of the story - moderation is king. Too much of anything isn't healthy.

I remember seeing the VMAs or the MTV Movie Awards where Eminem performed... it was when she was dating him and they kept cutting to her dancing... that was the first time I was like whoa, she looks really thin. I personally can't wait to see Uptown Girls-- not because she's in it, but because it looks like a cute movie.

OMG yes that Almost home show that was the best I swore it was called the torkelsons tho oh well maybe no yeah it was called that at first. great show they need to bring it back of course jsut the old episodes like they do boy meets world :) also one of my favs lol Im such a disney channel addict.
