Actually I need to know this too......but your last line was funny. I say that all the time. :)

phisigduchesscv 11-06-2002 01:55 AM

Thank you to SapphireSphinx9 on the Phi Sigma Sigma forum for posting this information a few months back. It helped me get my signature.

Basically, you're gonna need to use html in your signature section of your profile.

The html code for it is:
[font*(select a font)][size*(select a size)][color*(select a color)] (this is where you type the word/letters that you want)

Substitute the * for = and put actual words in where the ( )'s are!

for instance Font to get Greek Letters is Symbol. So for Phi Sigma Sigma I would write Then I would type in PSS because those letters correspond to the Greek letters in symbol font.

Once you've typed in your choice of font, size, and color and then the words you want to type then you need to close each one off by using the brackets, /, and the word of the the one you want to close off. See above.

aephi alum 11-06-2002 10:11 AM

Actually, phisigduchesscv, the equivalent for phi is F. P would give you a pi.

To get my letters, I did:

[ font=symbol ][ color=green ]AEF[ /color ][ /font ]

(remove the spaces in the brackets)

Most of the match-ups between our alphabet and the Greek alphabet (symbol font) are pretty intuitive.

HTH :)

mmcline 11-06-2002 07:07 PM

thanks everyone, lets see if i got it to work for me

CelticGal 11-06-2002 10:58 PM

Thanks! I'd been wondering that for a while, too.

UFKappaGrL 11-07-2002 12:42 AM

UFKappaGrL 11-07-2002 12:44 AM

qtbecks 11-08-2002 11:46 AM

docetboy 11-08-2002 01:36 PM

Testing

ADPiViolets 11-08-2002 04:23 PM

I'm just testing too... let's see...

ADPiViolets 11-08-2002 04:24 PM

Ah! What did I do wrong? :(

ADPiViolets 11-08-2002 04:28 PM

Let's try this one more time.. .if I get it wrong, can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? As you can probably see... I'm not very computer knowledgable. ;)

thetakates 11-08-2002 04:45 PM

did this work?

aephi alum 11-08-2002 05:05 PM

ADPiViolets, take out the spaces within the brackets.

thetakates, looks like your font tag is in the wrong place, or possibly you're missing a tag. Try:

[ font=symbol ][ size=18 ]KAO[ /size ][ /font ]

(I'm not sure if O is theta, I think it's omicron...)

Edited to add: thetakates, the gold isn't really legible against the grey background. You might want to try to find a darker shade, or go for black.

DWAlphaGam 11-08-2002 05:09 PM

ADPiViolets-You need to take the spaces out from the brackets. It should work then.

Sorry, AEPhi Alum...I didn't see you had posted. I believe Theta is Q. Let's try: Q

DWAlphaGam 11-08-2002 05:14 PM

Yeah, theta is Q.

Someone should post the symbol equivalents so that we all know...

OUlioness01 11-08-2002 09:35 PM

ok, how does this look?

MSKKG 11-08-2002 09:48 PM

Now I'm curious! How do I get "html" to be on? Mine is off and won't let me click on it.

RedAngel 11-09-2002 03:12 AM

Just testing

Just Testing...this probably didn't work

SxyDeltaGam 11-24-2002 06:20 PM

I don't know what I'm doing...I need help! :(

UofIL AXO 11-24-2002 07:03 PM

How do you make an omega?
http://www.plauder-smilies.de/happy/roflmao.gif

KappaKittyCat 11-24-2002 07:42 PM

In Symbol font, a Chi is C and an Omega is W. So Alpha Chi Omega would be typed ACW. Go fig.

dphies00 11-24-2002 08:30 PM

did this work?

GeekyPenguin 11-25-2002 12:01 AM

Greek Letters in Symbol Font

Because I don't want to clean my room at all...

A B G D E Z H Q I K L M N X O P R S T U F C Y W

A B G D E Z H Q I K L M N X O P R S T U F C Y W

So for example, I used GFB to make Gamma Phi Beta, AXD to make Alpha Xi Delta, PBF to make Pi Beta Phi, CY to make Chi Psi, etc...

sherbertlemons 11-25-2002 12:32 AM

testing

sherbertlemons 11-25-2002 12:33 AM

another test

sherbertlemons 11-25-2002 12:38 AM

ARRRGH! I keep fiddling and all I'm getting is the G instead of a gamma on that first KKG. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong? This is what I have...asterisks omitted, of course. KKG The owl, the key, the fleur de lis, the blue and blue...that's for me! Rah-rah for KKG!

AOcutiePi2002 11-25-2002 12:39 AM

let's see if this works!

Just checking to see if I did this right :)

AOcutiePi2002 11-25-2002 12:40 AM

one more time

let's try that again!

AOcutiePi2002 11-25-2002 12:43 AM

once again

let's see if I did this right........

GeekyPenguin 11-25-2002 12:44 AM

You have to make sure things are put in symbol font.
Type {font=symbol}KKG{/font}, using [ and ] instead of { and } if you are trying to make KKG.

ruhbekuhaopi 11-25-2002 12:54 AM

Let's see if this worked for me.

ZTAngel 11-25-2002 01:04 AM

ZTA

ZTAngel 11-25-2002 01:07 AM

just testing.....

AOcutiePi2002 11-25-2002 01:09 AM

it works!!!!

aephi alum 11-25-2002 09:43 AM

SxyDeltaGam, the first thing you need to do is turn on your signature. Below the space where you type your post, there's a check box called "Show Signature" - be sure that's checked. There's something you can set in your profile so that it's checked by default. Then, all you need to do is set up your letters using symbol font - for instance

[ font=symbol ]DG[ /font ]

gives you

DG

Just take out the spaces I inserted in the code above.

sdidavide 11-26-2002 12:16 PM

just wanted to see if it would work for me

MysticCat 11-26-2002 12:32 PM

Take the spaces out of your brackets and your letters should show up fine.
