To all the people who feel the need to get new user names in order to come on here and insult people, I say BE A MAN/WOMAN ABOUT IT! If you have something to say to someone, have some balls about it, don't hide behind a new username. I hate that mess in real life, and if you have to do it over the net, then you must be really insecure.

Lately, this has been happening more and more...bad news for the people that are doing it...it is OBVIOUS!

Don't make me start a roll call up in here. Unlike y'all, I will say what I have to say and I will not be anyone other than librasoul22.

Yeah maybe some people need to realize that there is more to life than the internet.

People honestly do that other than the V's? I had to change my name because I was getting harassing PMs and emails, but if that hadn't happened, I would have kept my screenname.

I want a new screen name without my letters on it so I can post in threads that may be a little 'off color' :p NOT so i can flame other people. Thats a pointless waste of time not to mention it takes the place of other interesting threads.

Any suggestions for a new name are welcome. I don't want to be anonymous. I just don't want people to associate my views with that of my organization.:D

I just read the thread! Sorry, I didn't mean to be redundant. But when we have people suddenly needing rogaine, people proclaiming to be the champ, you know, losers like that, it tends to take a toll on the sane GC public.

I completely agree. That is why I try REALLY hard not to post anything offensive, because my screen name is very obvious & there a few people from my college who post here as well (including one of my sorority sisters from the same chapter).

I only changed my screen name twice & that was before I even joined ZTA, so obviously I would not have had "Zeta" in my screen name then. My old screen names were TinkerbellMTSU (the summer before I started college) and RusheeGirl (while I went through rush- sadly my rush thread was lost during renovation though). Other than that I have had the same screen name for over a year.

I am thoroughly sick and tired of seeing the "it's just a message board" argument on here. Yes, indeed, it is a message board, and I doubt anyone on here is lacking enough in the brains department to notice that. But the rules of polite communication are the same on here as they are in any other realm (face-to-face, letters, public speeches) direct insults to other people are out of line. Disagreement is fine but attacking the person is uncalled for. It doesn't matter if this is "just" the Internet. It doesn't matter how old or new someone is. It doesn't matter whether they're your buddy or a stranger. And words don't magically lose their power to cheer up, offend, inform or piss off simply because they're typed.

And if this site matters so little to a GCer, why are they here? Surely none of our lives are so empty as to hang out somewhere we get absolutely nothing from. Whether we're here to make friends, start a fight, learn something, network, brag about our lives, or whatever, we're obviously getting something from it or we wouldn't bother. So it's hypocritical to take others to task for admitting they get some value from Greek Chat and to pick on them just because they get more or less from it than you do. If "words on a screen" from a stranger are so irrelevant to you, why bother replying to words on a screen from another stranger?

i agree- greekchat is for everyone. we don't reveal any secrets or anything like that, and we are a close community that shares advice on problems.. just like with everything else in life there is one person who wants to creat a problem or start a fight.. it happens.. so we ignore it and move on. i bet you ima would be REALLY disappointed if everyone just stopped replying to this thread.

But it's okay for people to come here solely for the purpose of stirring up sh!t? Look through their posts. I think it's a pretty legitimate question to ask why someone is here, because all they have done is stir up trouble.

I'm think that it was "very unfair" and "extremelly rude" for you to say this to me, especially as a mod. You're putting words and contexts in my mouth that weren't there. I never said that nongreeks had no business here. But questioning someone's interests in this board when all they've done is been mean and hurtful is a valid point in my book. This user has said a countless number of very nasty things to many many members of this board, including myself. I consider a number of people on this board to be my "friends" and some of them are actually my sisters.

One of the great things about being Greek is supporting your friends/sisters/brothers (whatever you choose to call them). When someone is constantly saying nasty things and trying to start crap with my friends, I'm going to call them on it.

And if that makes me "very unfair", "extremelly rude", "perpetuating stereotypes that greeks are exclusive" or whatever else you want to say i'm being, then so be it. :confused: I'm sticking up for my friends, and myself.

Go ahead and ask "why are you here" - but don't ask, "if you're not greek, why are you here. " Because as a greek, i don't care if someone non-greek is on the boards, and I would hate for them to think all greeks want to know why they are here.

With all of these "trouble makers" you have the option and the ability to IGNORE THEM, and never again have to read their posts. It's called using the ignore button. Check the chit chat forum guidelines at the top of the page for info on how to use this.

Yeah, I guess being honest and having an opinion that differs from yall means exactly that. I'm sure most of yall hate me cuz I openly discussed how "overweight" people are unattractive and I said every girl here was average at best.

Well I'm sticking up for the champ. No matter how much anyone lies, overweight people are not as physically attractive as they'd be if they lost the weight.

Imthechamp was honest about that. His wording cannot be separated from the situation it was in. Someone used the word "fat" to ask a question and he simply used her vocabulary.

So why are people upset with him? Why do people ask him to show a picture of himself for saying that HE is not attracted to someone that is "fat"? Was it because he said he felt the girls on here were average? I'm so sorry that the egos of many a girl were shattered by him saying that, but to each his own. What my roommate considers attractive, I consider trashy...and we all have differing opinions and accept that.

What bearing does him being in a greek organization have on anything? I don't mean to argue with anyone on this but I just don't see the arguments you guys are presenting. If he makes personal attacks at people then he should be warned, as he was, and asked not to do those actions again. Kddani I understand that you view him as stirring up "sh!t", but his doing so has no correlation to his associations or involvement with any group at this point.

Also you can't make the case that he should be kicked off for not contributing something positive. Are there guidelines as to what is positive on these boards?? Does a guy who has endless time and posts irrelevant articles get considered as positive while someone who actually truthfully answers a question about his own physical attraction get considered as negative??

I think we should all relax. When someone breaks a rule, simply respond and deal with it. If they continually break the rule, ban them. If they say things that you don't like but aren't breaking the rules, well deal with that and stop forming a mob.

Now I have no idea about this imposter stuff. I saw the rogaine stuff and thought it was funny, albeit at someone else's expense. But who has Imthechamp impersonated? Am I missing something?

Rudey, people do not have problems w/ posters expressing their opinions. It's the WAY they do it. It was unnecessary for Imachamp to call out on people's insecurities like that. I don't think he would like if heard women constantly complaining about men with small d**ks (i'm sure he has one).

I agree! Evidently some of you have not been out in the real world or you'd understand that you will always find people like this. Better learn how to deal wih them now. And there seems to be a lot of GCers that will jump on whoever disagrees with them even for the most simple or unimprtant of things. (yes, I've experienced it myself). Unlike most of the girls who post here, I have very high self-esteem and I am happy with myself. This world is full of "bad" people and am I going to get upset when someone calls me UGLY or FAT? Especially someone who I don't even know? Hell no.

The only time I said anything about someone was in that post where it was headed "AM I FAT?". She used the word FAT, not me.

I knew someone would say what you said. Once again, he used her wording and did not do it in a manner that was arguably offensive. He was not exploiting her insecurities because he did not take advantage of the wording to do something on the side. He simply answered her question.

And in the end, you are one of the people who decided to use multiple identities even as recently as a couple days ago when you decided to make one involving UFPike's name...no?

The issue at hand was in regards to people using multiple identities so why are people jumping at Imachamp but not at Dionysus? Get real...this thread is just being used by people to take out their aggression on certain other users.
