Guys Getting BBW's - Not for the Squeamish

Went for my monthly BBW today and my waxer told me she had had four men come in in the past month asking for a Brazilian Bikini Wax. She guessed they'd read about them in Maxim or GQ or some other mens' magazine and wanted to try them.

She didn't even know what to charge them so she decided on $160.00. $60 for the basic BBW, but she charged them $100 extra to wax their ba--s.

Guys, obviously I don't have the same equipment as you do but I tell ya, I think having hot wax spread on the boys then letting it harden and ripping it and the hair off would be pretty darn excruciating to say the least.

But that's just me

dzrose93 10-18-2002 12:08 AM

ROTFLMAO... Ditto that. :D :D :D

Optimist Prime 10-18-2002 01:34 AM

yeah thats why Goddess gave us razors.

lionlove 10-18-2002 07:30 AM

Off topic but I thought this thread said "guys getting BMW's"

I was wondering why it was so squemish :o

carnation 10-18-2002 07:32 AM

I thought Bath & BodyWorks!

ZTAMiami 10-18-2002 09:19 AM

My b/f is actually considering getting waxed. I'm all for it and it seems pretty common at the salon I go to. They have a full mens price list and yes it is more expensive.

aephi alum 10-18-2002 09:49 AM

OK, can I just say... ow!

sororitygirl2 10-18-2002 10:23 AM

Boys should trim, not wax... it looks funny completely bald.

carnation, so did I. Especially since going in that store makes Mr. 33 EXTREMELY squeamish. :D

lifesaver 10-18-2002 11:10 AM

Um, FU*K NO!

My sister tells me all about it when she has gone to get BBW done. I am having none of it. Now, I thin the cedar, so to speak, but aint no one, NO ONE getting near my little guy with a bucket of hot wax or a steel blade. I'll trim my stuff myself. I do a good job. I also dont do it to look bigger. I have no problems in that area. I do it to keep things from getting too unruly down there. As I said before about belly buttons, if someone wants me to do any of that business with a blade or wax or whathaveyou, they need to buy me a house or something first.

And yes ladies, its common knowledge (in GQ and MAXIM) that a close shave can give you the appearance of an additional inch or two.

That's funny... I think it gives you the appearance of a bald chicken!

Good lord, what will they think of next? I personally would never get a BBW and so the whole concept is really lost on me. I mean, if I'm going to experience such pain, it's going to be for something that lasts, like a tattoo. And it's not going to be *there*.

I have to say, anyway, I'd find it very creepy if a guy was so concerned with the appearance of his stuff that he would go to such trouble.

Really, it's not that painful... I swear!

Funniest post of the day...by FAR!

:D

UofIL AXO 10-18-2002 03:30 PM

These posts are definetly making my long boring day at work go so much better! I'm all for guys having to go through the pain of a Bikini wax. In fact, ladies, if your boyfriend is requesting for you to get one yourself, tell him to go along :D

On a side note, I read in Cosmo/Glamour (can't remember which one) about a women that made her boyfriend "take the pill." He didn't actually ingest the birth controll pill but he was responsible for giving it to her everyday. One day he dropped it down the sink and was insanely worried about what would happen! It was definetly an interesting perspective.

josh8o 10-18-2002 04:53 PM

ok this is turning into some funny shit, and it is takinf the focus off of my hangover as i laugh....i did not know what BBW stood for, but i slowly figured it out as i read this thread. here is my take...
trim: a must. girls are like guys, they dont want to see a bush.
wax: no, no, no. are you crazy? can you say pain?

DeltAlum 10-18-2002 05:33 PM

YIKES!

i can't believe you pay $60!! the nice salon near me only charges $20 and they do a great job.;)

guys, y'all must tame your wild bush. there's nothing worse than a long stinky hair in all the wrong places. and getting it taken off definitely helps with the stank. (yes stank, not stink!)

sororitygirl2 10-18-2002 05:55 PM

$20 for a Brazilian!!! That's unheard of! I don't know of anywhere that charges less than $30 and most I know of charge $60 to $80!

Munchkin03 10-18-2002 06:57 PM

I'm trying to find a place here (in Providence) that does them. I'm not having much luck, or maybe the places don't really advertise them. I want one for myself, but soon-to-be Mr. Munchkin03 is very supportive.

When I originally saw the post, I thought it was about Big Beautiful Women--which confused the smack out of me.

They can wax the "boys"? How does that work?

FuzzieAlum 10-18-2002 07:39 PM

This is cracking me up. I can't even imagine any of the guys I've dated doing this. Last guy I dated, he thought buying a new identical belt every three years was going all out appearance-wise, and his idea of wild and kinky was getting it on twice a week ... he thought me shaving my legs was going through too much effort and didn't understand why I did it! (Gee, wonder why I'm single?)

If you wanna wax down there, OK. Just remember, attack your back hair first, OK, or no woman will look any further!

It's not that easy to find a place that does BBW's in a smaller city so I feel for you. Try looking at the pricier salons around town. They tend to cater to a more sophisticated clientale. Also, see if you can find any day spas in the area. Isn't Newport about 45 minutes away? I bet if you can't find something in Providence, you'll have some luck in Newport. I'm sure the socialites absolutely must have their BBWs :)

James 10-18-2002 08:28 PM

Wait is a BBW the one that has a runway? Why wouldn't a salon do something that simple?

And Girls, if you are going to go through the trouble why not do something neat?

Like a wings?

Or a Heart Shape?

Welcome Home?

Home plate?

Your Safe!

1000 served!

Or can anyone else think of some other cool designs? LOL

Now that would impress the hell out of me.

justhey76 10-18-2002 08:38 PM

hahahahaha, James, you are hilarious. There is only one salon in oklahoma that does the full job, and it is two hours away from my school. so that sucks

And if you can't do something creative:

Go BALD!

Any amount of hair sucks . . .

Hair gets:

Caught in our teeth.

It tickles our throat and out nose.

It feels like Brillo when you are rubbing it against our faces.

As Cashmere78 said it collects Stank or sweat . . . nasty stuff . . Let me tell you a story about that! There was this time and this girl and this unfortunate well  . . . ok never mind ;).

So ladies, Help a Brother out and take the rest of that nasty hair off.

Thank you. This Public Service message brought to you by James.

can you tell me how many of you have actually done this? i'm a little uncomfortable with someone getting down there and doing that. do they do "all" of it? like completely hairless from front to rear? graphic i know, but i'm just wondering.
james, i saw a stripper once who had a heart shaved into her's. it was pretty cool.

shelley j
sigma k

oh yeah, and how painful is it really? i've had my upper lip done and i was cool with that. comparison at all?

valkyrie 10-19-2002 12:24 PM

Geez, y'all are crazy! Just kidding, but I'm still not doing it. I had my *eyebrows* waxed once. It made my skin get red and puffy and ITCHY as all hell. I don't think ITCHY in that particular area would be all that pleasant. Eeeeesh. And it hurt.

CarolinaCutie 10-19-2002 01:30 PM

I think guys with ALL of their pubes taken off are a little funny... but smooth "twins"... that's nice. I'm not sure how many guys would want to endure the pain of waxing though. We all know that they are wusses when it comes to that sort of stuff.

Back BEFORE I had tons of bills to pay, I would pay the $60 for a Brazillian... now that I am broke, I have decided that a razor works JUST FINE.

I loved that article!! I told my boyfriend about it, and how I thought it was a great idea, because I'm tired of being solely responsible...ya, he didn't even pretend to listen to me on that one. :D

Honey, I'm going to agree with you on this one. Now, I'm a full advocate of men trimming, because it just makes things easier when you're working down there. However-if a guy did a Brazilian, I'd probably be worried for 2 reasons: 1) Has he hit puberty yet?? and 2) he's paying too much attention to himself, and not enough to me. :p

It's like when guys have more beauty products than you do...that's creepy too.

KarenC725 10-19-2002 11:08 PM

I can't fathom getting a Brazilian let alone a guy getting it! Talk about pain!

KillarneyRose 10-19-2002 11:16 PM

It really isn't so bad - honest!!! :) I mean, it's not something I love doing or anything, but it's just a part of my routine maintenance. Like getting my nails done or my teeth cleaned.

I started getting BBWs about 12 years ago. The salon where I got my legs and eyebrows waxed was owned by an older woman who had actually come to New York from Brazil and she talked me into "going for it". I was an immediate convert (what can I say, I like things tidy I guess! lol). It's only been within the past three years or so that it's easy to find a place that does them outside of the big cities. When we lived briefly in Dover, Delaware in 1993, I used to drive to New York City every month to get mine done!

Last year, the husband of one of my best friends was briefly out of work. They were looking for ways to trim the budget and he told her that he would give up his weekly golf game before he would let her give up her BBWs. Husbands do seem to like them! :)

KarenC725 10-19-2002 11:23 PM

I do hear that guys like them (on their women that is). I just don't know that I have the pain tolerence to get any kind of wax down there! It has been "suggested" as something I could try...

Sorry! I meant that guys like them ON girls!!!
