Trump Speech Guest Previously Expelled from Sorority

Payton McNabb, the young woman who was severely injured after taking a spike in volleyball off the face from a man playing women’s sports has been expelled from Delta Zeta. This is crazy stuff! http://https://www.dailysignal.com/2025/03/06/wasnt-enough-payton-mcnabb-permanently-injured-male-womens-sports-her-sorority-also-kicked-her-out/

That is vicious and hateful of them.

As far as I can tell, Daily Signal is the least right-wing of the news sources reporting it, so I'd like to see any formal response from Delta Zeta.

This.

Can we be clear that Ms. McNabb was expelled in May, 2024, and that it had nothing to do with her appearance at the address? The title of this thread could suggest that there is a correlation between the two.

carnation 03-13-2025 01:41 PM

Do y'all know if she was expelled for her political views or something else?

shadokat 03-13-2025 02:11 PM

My bad on the title. Literally I couldn't get this to a normal size title, and I guess I chose my words incorrectly. Change it if you'd like.

She was expelled for bullying - from the interview I saw on Newsmax, which is as right-wing as they come, she said a man in a dress was in the women's room and she felt uncomfortable, so she started filming it. THEN, she went and posted it on social media. She goes on to say that the "woke agenda" is ruining greek life.

I'm not talking politics here. Nobody cares about all that.

I have been in restrooms where guys walked in. Some were obviously men in dresses, some were in neutral clothes. It was scary; every one of them acted threatening, pressing in close and just kind of hanging around and staring at the women.

At one college where I taught ESOL, this obvious male kept coming into the nearby restroom in a dress and the Hispanic and Middle Eastern women would run out. You can't judge women for feeling scared or threatened; everyone comes from their own past experiences.

shadokat 03-13-2025 03:27 PM

I'm not judging, although I do question the need to post the video on social media.

I’m judging. There has also been no confirmation that the player who spiked the ball at her was transgender. Additionally, she was far from being permanently injured and unable to play sports again, as she proceeded to play and compete at the same level less than 7 weeks from the accident. If there’s anything political going on, it’s 100% on this girl for her judgmental views and twisting the truth to get attention and “fame”.

carnation 03-13-2025 04:36 PM

I don't judge anyone who takes photos out of fear. I would take them if I felt threatened.

Sciencewoman 03-13-2025 10:39 PM

Well, she'd best not go to Sweden. Restrooms are unisex there.

shadokat 03-14-2025 07:15 PM

Taking photos is one thing. Posting videos on social media to clearly shame the person is different than that.

Sometimes if you feel that no one is listening, you do desperate things to get the right people to notice. Some of those scared ESOL students finally filmed the guy in the school bathroom and he was finally gone.

bevinpiphi 03-19-2025 03:36 PM

Can we also note that Ms. McNabb's career ended because of the end of her high school career? She continued to play volleyball and softball after her supposed career ending injury.

Please revise/edit the thread title. It’s misleading, inaccurate, and inflammatory. I don’t think it is a fair recounting and I think it can be interpreted as casting Delta Zeta in an unfavorable light. The two events (membership termination in 2024, attendance at an address in 2025) are not connected in any way, shape or form. Her membership was terminated long before she showed up in the peanut gallery at the circus. Nor is the volleyball injury part of this. Further, the information source is biased and not likely to be cited anywhere reputable.

Like it or not, politics does come into play here. Further, I care. We need to hold ourselves to accurate reporting more than ever in today’s climate. We can do better.

Thank you.

Shadowkat created it and has later indicated that they think the title isn't clear. Feel free to suggest a specific change. (My proposed change goes on for five lines and includes several inappropriate terms for people wearing red hats)

Totally deleting the entire thread is an option for mods, no?

Yes, because we saw how far some members erroneously took what they read only in the title and twisted it against the trans community.

PittDZ 03-21-2025 01:29 PM

I have no insider knowledge of this situation and I can find no verification from any mainstream media. But I did find a post that was supposedly from this young woman on another greeklife website under WCU. It said “my parents pulled me from the sorority and WCU”. I have no idea if this is true or not, but it would coincide with the reply from the DZ CEO that the two actions were totally unrelated, she could not discuss sorority disciplinary matters due to confidentially, but that DZ bylaws require members to be either enrolled at a university as a matriculated student, be an alumnae, or be a faculty member. That’s all she could legally say. I’m thinking that perhaps the student was disciplined, not terminated, for filming another person in a bathroom and posting it to social media, regardless of personal views of this subject. Perhaps after consideration, her family made her disaffiliate and leave Western Carolina University. Again, I don’t know, but wondered why our CEO would cite membership requirements during the interview.

“Former sorority member attended Congressional address.”

Succinct. Accurate. And obviously not misleading. Nor at all of interest, as it should be. If you’ve been on GC for more than a few years you know that I am first and foremost a supporter of the overall Greek community, but especially NPC member organizations.

I hope this thread will not show up in any searches of Delta Zeta. DZ has had enough negativity with their documented membership review.

Move along. Nothing to see here.

Thank you. However I am not holding my breath, for obvious reasons. Too much for some people to admit - you know where I am headed and you can draw your own conclusions.

I am fed up with bullisht and in the time I have left I will continue to call it out.

We are better than that, we can do better.

shadokat 03-24-2025 02:15 PM

I stated further up in this thread that the title was likely not a good one, and said whomever need to change it can feel free to do so.

My intent with the title was to identify who the woman who was expelled was without a 10 line title, and clearly I didn't do a good job.

The story here to me is not about Delta Zeta, but about the young woman and her actions that led to her expulsion.

Whatever malicious intention you think I may have had by making this post, I can assure you it wasn't meant to be against Delta Zeta. It was meant to show that actions have consequences, so be careful what you're doing online, period.

But you continue to believe you know what I think...

Report the post and get it deleted if it means that much to you. I assure you it's no skin off my back.
