I’ll bet there are many alums sweeping—and later shoveling—front sorority sidewalks! Lots of salt and sand being spread. The snow is beginning to fall in Indiana.

It’s a good thing the first round is virtual! (PNMs return to campus on Tuesday - all other rounds are in person.) It would be awful to schlep between houses and wait outside between parties in the middle of a snowstorm!

I will certainly be lurking tik tok, as IU recruitment got a lot of attention last year. My fave story was someone who went through in 1996 who survived bed rush. I may dig around the recruitment stories thread to find some more, I can't believe that system was in place for so long.

As someone who has been out schlepping (lol) through snow all weekend…I’m glad the PNMs don’t have to do this! In their nicest outfits too :(

I know August recruitment in the south is HOTTTT but idk if I’d want to do a winter recruitment like this!

I always said that the south should do winter recruitment and the north summer! I do know a lot of PNMs will bundle up then take their layers off once they enter the house.

It does make me laugh seeing how many of the houses have their actives wearing tank tops for recruitment considering the weather? They look great and I’m sure the house is toasty with that many people inside…but still funny. It also shows that I’m very old.

I think the photos were from the virtual round, so I guess it was okay. But yeah even if you're just in the house the door is being opened pretty frequently brrr

The Bid Day weather forecast is for temperatures to be in the low 20's. Bundle up ladies!

Sister Havana 01-19-2025 07:52 PM

Today’s Bid Day and some photos/stories are out on chapters’ Instagram pages.

I have no numbers yet (and I'll usually post if they post on social media) but you're right they look huge!

Pinkmagnolia921 01-20-2025 04:31 AM

I will check the numbers in our National Database over the next few days. Numbers haven't been posted yet.

Pinkmagnolia921 01-22-2025 01:34 AM

Quota was 74.
Total is 263

PGD-GRAD 01-23-2025 05:02 PM

IU KKG: 78 (Instagram)

Cheerio 01-23-2025 06:58 PM

Are there good recruitment numbers this semester for the unhoused, and/or rental housed, sororities?

jolene 01-27-2025 05:17 PM

Alpha Xi Delta got 82 per our database.

shadokat 01-30-2025 12:00 PM

I will add these to Recruitment thread, but here are the final numbers from IU.

AOPi - 78/240
APhi - 77/288
AZD - 71/241

Oh wow. I remember when they got the house after Tri Delta closed. I will say though (and yes I know IU doesn't have chapter totals due to the difference in housing.) The chapter totals overall are still pretty high.

IndianaSigKap 01-30-2025 07:44 PM

I was told by a Tri Delt alum that she believes Gamma Phi will be leasing the Tri Delt house next school year while their chapter house is being renovated. That's a great solution.

Cookiez, two other posters have given a number of 263 for total. So, is there or is there not TOTAL now at IU?

Oh my bad. I'm a bit sleepy today.

On the positive it's good that Gamma Phi can use the house for the time being.

ForeverRoses 02-09-2025 04:26 PM

IU began using a campus total after last year's formal recruitment. This is the first formal recruitment where campus total was in effect.
