Christmas 2023
Christmas is the season for giving. But everybody knows damn well they want some gifts Lol.
In this thread we discuss what we want or are hoping to receive for Christmas 2023. |
Its funny I was thinking about what I would want and/or could use when I was walking the dog this morning. Although for me, I treat myself through the year because frankly I can't trust people in my circle to get me what I actually want LOL! Although I will also admit I am terrible about expressing my christmas wants too. But here are a few items that could be useful or things I just want.
|
I want the latest iPhone. But I think my girl has already gotten it for me Lol. I also want a new iPad.
|
I honestly feel blessed to be able to say…there’s nothing I really want. I feel very content right now. That wasn’t always the case and I’ve had my fair share of struggles, financial and otherwise. I told my family and friends who asked that Visa gift cards would be nice because there are some electronic thingies I want to buy (a digital converter for an old analog TV I still have and want to use), but I need to research what would be best first. Otherwise, bakery-scented candles are always welcome too.

AirPods. I’ve been asking for 2 years, but still no AirPods. This Christmas is hubby’s last chance. If it doesn’t happen, I’m buying my own AirPods, wrapping them up, putting them under the tree and will exclaim at my own thoughtfulness.
|
I am fairly certain I am getting a Bird Buddy. It's a smart bird feeder that has a camera and an app so you can get close up pictures of the birds and track which species are out there.
|
Pawpaw and raspberry plants.
|
I love nice clothes, so that. More bow ties, a new DeWalt tool set for my sculptures. Some art supplies. A vellum pad would be lovely too. Any Franklin Mint, Danbury Mint, CMC, GMP, or Ebbro models to add to my collection would also put a smile on my face. :D
Above all, continued good health and continued blessings for my family. |

Hmmm… I don’t know lol. I’ll admit, I am a hard person to shop for. I’m usually surprised and happy at the same time on Christmas Day with my gifts. I generally receive gifts I would have never bought for myself, but still gifts I like and can use.
|
I am heading to Vegas for Christmas. I am hoping to hit a fairly decent size slot jackpot.
|
I already got my gifts. I asked for flannel sheets. I love my Egyptian cotton high thread count sheets but they are COLD. I got the flannel sheets. I also got some under eye mask things that I asked for and some body wash I wanted. And then some candles. And my son and his fiance got me a gift card for candlelight concerts so I can go to one of my choice! I might do Taylor Swift but I think I've seen them for Queeven also. My son is a great gift giver. He has been since he was really little.
When my son was 6, I had just bought my house that summer and moved out of my ex-husband's house. The school had a Santa shop where kids could buy their parents presents. He got me this cute pink screwdriver set called "Mom's Tool Kit" and told me he got it for me because I had a house now, I needed tools too. It was so adorable. Now he's 27 and buying me gift cards for concert tickets. So cool :) |
I did most of my shopping, gonna hope my family does well with me (and they usually do.)
Something I've seen around the internet is kids asking for insane things like the newest iPhones or expensive bracelets. As if I didn't ask for a full backyard playground at that age, unknown to the cost lol. |
Do you guys regift?
|
I don't regift, but our church has a regifting event where everyone can exchange something they're not wild about, and the appropriate things go to a charity.
My mama had her "giftie closet" - things that she could give to some of the impromptu guests we had at Christmas. She couldn't bear to think of anyone being by themselves at Christmas. |

I had hoped to go to New Orleans, but Covid finally caught me . . .mild case, but I'm still housebound. Had to cancel all my reservations.

I would like to get a camera to watch the frogs in my pond in the spring! They’re not active now, so no need…but in a few months it will literally be hopping. Everyone at work keeps giving me random things this year, even though I just started this job! While I appreciate the idea, there’s just a ton of stuff I don’t use. I think I’m just going to bundle them up and leave them for my favorite overworked store manager. |

That's odd. Covid has been such a non-factor around here. Hardly anyone has ever masked.

If I regifted, I knoooow I would accidentally give it back to the person who gave it to me. I've heard too many stories about that happening!

I don't normally get a lot of gifts, so any regifting means giving away to charity.
I could truly use better health this season, and am working with the help of others in that direction During 2024 it will be great to continue receiving the gift of time to quietly create life by thinking thoughts, reading, and writing. |
