High School

What were you like in high school?

1. Loser (Lmao)
2. Not popular (not many people knew you, and nobody knew of you)
3. In the middle (most people knew of you)
4. Popular (everybody knew of you and knew who you were)

Did you make your yearbook list?

I got voted in as the funniest (I was the class clown)

How about you?

I forgot to post my number.

3 for me too.

Everyone knew who I was…but everyone knew who everyone was because. My school was tiny lol…

Catholic girls school, small, urban…

There were several groups….the Uber Regina George girls (group of five in my grade):..the middle of the road girls (partied and dated but still did good in school)…and the Typical Catholic School Girls who were in NHS and planned to marry their HS sweethearts (most did). We had a small but vocal Bad Girls contingent that spanned all grades (maybe 12 girls total)…and then Everybody Else. The Weird People. By the time I was a senior, I was the unofficial leader of The Weird People (although we were truly all equals)

I always find it funny when people on GC talk about those girls who were so popular in HS and think they are automatically going to get into Super Sorority. Safe to say…that was NOT me.

But I think it prepared me well for life, because I never really cared what people thought of me or my friends. If someone made a snide comment about my sorority, I got irritated with that person and considered it a reflection of them and not my sisters.

cheerfulgreek 07-15-2023 07:42 PM

I was a 4.

For our senior poll, I got voted most spirited.

What was I like in high school? Hmm.. I don’t know, I guess a normal teenager? I was a cheerleader from my freshman - senior year. I ended up becoming captain. I was also in our science club for all four years. Other than that, I didn’t participate in any other after school activities. I studied a lot so I was kind of an undercover nerd.

Zach 07-15-2023 10:32 PM

I was in between 3 and 4. I played football in high school. If you played any kind of sports at my high school, popularity would follow you.

I didn’t get voted in any senior recognitions as most or best, etc.

AGDee 07-15-2023 10:41 PM

Solid 3.

I got biggest smile

PrettyBoy 07-15-2023 10:47 PM

I got most artistic

That’s at every high school with a football team. College too. But for people who actually played and didn’t sit on the bench. Did you play?

I’m not surprised you were a 4. Although, I was very surprised to know that you don’t like being around people. I hated cheerleaders in high school and college, especially when they’d do that pyramid shit Lol.

carnation 07-16-2023 08:15 AM

Hey! I cheered at the University of Arkansas! Our squad was a super group!

What say you, PB? Why didn’t you like cheerleaders? I’ll post why I didn’t after you post your reasons. Let’s see if they match Lol!

*winter* 07-16-2023 12:34 PM

Our school didn’t even have cheerleaders lol…but we were fierce in basketball. A few of the BB girls had big egos but most of them were not mean girls at all…even though they were smart, beautiful and athletic- and got great scholarships to outstanding colleges.

I wanted to do track or cross country but all four years…the school could never get it together enough to do anything with competitive running.

Student council was the big thing in our school. Everyone who was anyone fought it out in the spring for the slots on SC.

jolene 07-16-2023 03:27 PM

In between 3 and 4 but my high school wasn't huge like where my daughter just graduated from but I was also very shy.

I got voted best dressed.

The reason why I didn’t like cheerleaders was because I saw them as attention seekers. They liked to be seen. They just wanted guys to look at them, especially the one at the top of that pyramid shit they’d do. The one at the top of the pyramid always sought and received the most attention. You cheerleaders are a trip Lol.

I was on the top! — building pyramids were difficult (depending on the pyramid)!

You’re not my friend anymore, Phrozen. :p

Ohhhhhh snap!!!! Lmfao!! You serious, CG?!! You topped the pyramid?? Looool!

Okay, except for you, CG. Except for you Lol!

cheerfulgreek 07-16-2023 10:11 PM

Yes! I was the smallest/shortest so I was on the top.

I forgive you… this time. :p

aephi alum 07-17-2023 12:13 AM

4 ... sort of. Everyone knew who I was because I was my class valedictorian. I knew all my fellow honors students, everyone in the chorus, and everyone on the track team. I wasn't Cordelia Chase popular, I was never a Heather, but everyone knew who I was.

jolene 07-17-2023 01:11 AM

High school is such a weird place. I had an older sis who graduated right before I started freshman year. Everyone knew her and thought she was hot (she still is--and we're BFFs), but I show up a 'hot' yet painfully shy, serious, and artsy girl. I got a LOT of attention from day one, but once it got out that I didn't put out, guys lost interest. :/ After that, I did have issues with dating. LOL

I’ve never heard of that one. We’ve got Karens but what is a Heather?

Phrozen Sands 07-17-2023 02:42 AM

PB thinks he’s going to get out of this one. Still waiting for his cheerleaders dislike response. Nobody is going to bite you for having an opinion Lol.

I was waiting for you because I figured your reason would be similar to mine. Same. I’ve never liked stick and ball sports (auto racing only) so I’ve only been to one football game in high school with my dad and one in college with frat brothers. I didn’t pay attention to cheerleaders so I didn’t know who was who or who did what with stunts and “pyramids” or whatnot. For some reason, they were attracted to me though, but I wasn’t interested in them for the reasons you said here. I was incredibly shy and quiet — they were opposite, which I didn’t find appealing. Same in college with sororities. 😂

You’d be surprised. When I first joined GC, apparently I angered a lot of people on here — to the point somebody hacked the system and created my username exactly the way it is and started posting wild, crazy posts that were opposite of who I am. Some posts were actually who I was so I began to get confused myself — not remembering if I posted it or not. Unless is was a false post, I didn’t know who was who between them and me. I remember one post where him/her said they had an std, but it looked like I posted it. Mods started getting confused of who to ban. The GCers who I made mad said the mods should ban the real PrettyBoy and keep the imposter. 😂 Some said ban them both 😂 - a super mod sent me pms that the imposter was resistant to being banned. 😂 Long story short, they finally got rid of the fake PrettyBoy.

I have strong convictions about some things, but now I don’t post them as much, because some folks on here could be going through some things or have opposite views. The last thing I wanted to do was offend folks.

I forgot you like race cars. You didn’t like sororities either Lol. Why? I thought you said your ex was in a sorority.

Wtf??? Lmfaoooooooooo! Rotflmao!!! Are you serious?? Loooooooooooooool!!! Damn, why didn’t I see this website earlier? I missed out on some hilariously funny shit Lol! Damn, I wish I could have seen this! If somebody had to get that pissed off at someone else’s opinion, then they shouldn’t be reading comments or posting on message boards. Funny as hell and sick as fuck at the same time.

So this explains the “lame” comment from those old posts? Lol!!

No, I didn’t dislike them, just on my campus, our personalities were different. They were mad cool on a friendship level. Yes, my ex was in a sorority. So I ended up with one, and married a high school AND college cheerleader. Couldn’t get away from them. 😂

“lame comment?”

There was a movie, Heathers, that came out in 1988, starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater. In the movie, the most popular clique in the local high school consists of four girls, named Heather, Heather, Heather, and Veronica.

TW: suicide themes.

Thanks. Thanks for the wiki too. At first I thought it was a pre-Karen thing.

3.5 I was a jock, in the band, cheer, track and field and cross country, also a few clubs. We had around 350 people in my graduating class and I'd say 80% knew me and vice-versa.

Yes-sort of I got most athletic for our Sr. edition newspaper which has all that but I didn't graduate on time so for the graduation ceremony and such, no. I did get the honor trophy for my cross country team though:D

No.2 I kept to myself most of the time.

didn't make the list.

I vacillated between 3-4. My high school didn't do the superlative thing (there were about 600 in my graduating class), but I was always in the newspapers & yearbooks with quotes & photos. I will always regret one quote, as funny as it may have seemed at the time.

The question I was asked was "what is anticipation?".

I answered: "When you go out with the guy you've been drooling over and discover that you can't stand him."

Shallow little 16 year old! I still hope that the guy I was thinking about never put two and two together. In my defense, he thought he was all that and a bag of chips. I just don't like to think of myself as hurting someone else.

That’s how it seems to be most of the time. The ones we had huge crushes on turned out to be ugly inside. Sounds like he was an ass anyway.
