Arkansas Recruitment 2022
Quota was 190. Delta Gamma pledged 200.
|
And just heard that our chapter is now at 530!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
2140 bids handed out!!!!
Historic. |
Holy cow! Compared to my 7 girl informal recruitment PC, this is insane!
|
NPC confirmed with UARK Greek Life that their 95% bid rate was the highest for any formal recruitment. And truly EVERY one of their 11 houses is top notch, filled with accomplished, smart, beautiful young women!
|
Maybe these numbers will convince the U to find ways to mske it easier for groups to get land for a house.
|
Knowing the area around the university well, all I can think of is--where is this available land coming from? The university already claimed all the nearby streets as eminent domain (like my grandparents' house) as the older people passed away. Her back yard is now the back of the AOII house and the rest is a parking lot. :(
|
That's what I mean. They need to turn loose of the land. Look what happened at Alabama when they realized what needed to be done...
|
Anyone taking bets on what year an Arkansas NPC chapter finishes formal recruitment with a CT of 600+ women?
(or did that heart-stopping event just recently occur?) |

Alabama total is at 455.

Hmmm
So do the chapter houses have commercial kitchens? If so are they feeding everyone? With close to 500 members I would think it is extremely challenging to feed so many members multiple times a day….
|
I'm sure it varies from campus to campus and chapter to chapter but yes, they have commercial kitchens. Many have grab and go breakfast & lunch with buffet dinners. Not full sit down dinners each day.
|
I’m thinking of the mechanics of getting everyone on a composite. 😮

Have NPC chapters with huge membership numbers moved toward yearly composites that are Video Only, with no yearly paper composites? |

It looks like the University recently bought land along Maple Street, for a new house, which looks like it will be close to the Pi Phi house and Delta Gamma house. Did a new sorority take this land and build?

I didn't see as much with the other SEC schools, as Alabama is the main one. However, SMU and Baylor rush get notoriety during the winter.

Thank you. From what I can tell, the houses at Arkansas are HUGE. Several are in the 40,000 square foot range it seems. The campus seems quite hilly, as well. |
It is hilly, but the main campus and the areas where the sororities are are pretty flat.

I went to school in the Northeast. Total was 80. Everyone knew everyone, to the point where big/little sister matching for my sorority was done on Bid Day. I cannot imagine such a large NM class. |
My high school (all 4 years) was only around 150 people!
My own sorority was small (around 25) and there are advantages and disadvantages to both. I think everyone tends to find their own little group within the sorority that they spend the most time with, and that is going to happen if the sorority is 25 or 425. Even as small as it was, there were still people I didn’t know very well or wouldn’t consider friends. |

I'm still mystified by how they feed that number. Of course, not all are going to eat every day, but that's more than many restaurants feed in a full day. |
