Rosie O'Donnel

I'm watching dateline now, they're talking about here.

IMO I always thought she was a b*tch. Why are people so surprised?

She's being sued for a 100 million dollars.

A girl in one of my classes interned on her show and she said Rosie is a major itch-bay. I could kinda sense it too.

three2tango 10-11-2002 10:47 PM

On what grounds is she a bitch? I am really going to need some specifics here kids. If a man is loud and demanding he is dedicated, if it is a woman then she is an emotional bitch.

DeltaSigStan 10-11-2002 11:00 PM

Just a sidenote really fast-

I couldn't care less about anyone's sexual preference, but she had to go on national TV to tell everyone she's a lesbian?

Rosie O`Donnell? A Lesbian? NO, really? You could have fooled me......

sororitygirl2 10-12-2002 12:43 AM

I don't know about her being a b., although I am she very well could be... All I know is she is super annoying!

Hootie 10-12-2002 02:22 AM

Okay, she was on the TODAY show a week ago. What she's so pissed about is the people owning her name "ROSIE" the magazine. She claims that they shouldn't be able to own her name when it doesn't represent what she believes. I can understand her arguement...afterall, people will start to think it's (the magazine) is still under her influence...when in fact it isn't. But what she needs to realize is that since she signed a contract, YES, the magazine can now own her name. It's an IDEA. Ideas are ownable. I learned about this in my PR class...then again I've been drinking all night so maybe this all doesn't make sense...
LOL!

I don't think she's a bitch, just highly opinionated. I'd be sticking up for myself too if I were in her shoes. But so goes life, and she's learning a lesson!

Fuck her, how the fuck can someone be pro-gun control but yet do TV commercials for K-mart? Not only that but she has the nerve to criticize guests for being members of the NRA. Yeah I don’t like her and yes I am a bit tossed.

PiKA2001 10-12-2002 03:40 AM

Who cares ???????

PiKA2001 10-12-2002 03:41 AM

I Don't.

josh8o 10-12-2002 06:23 AM

maybe it is because she has always been in a good light when i have seen her, or maybe it is because we agree on a lot of the same issues...anyway, i like rosie, and think she is a strong woman. why is she being sued...i have not heard anything.

I don't either.

Personally I think she's cool and I woulda loved to be in the audience when she had her show. They always got cool free stuff.

Yeah, maybe bitch is the wrong word, she's a hypocrite.

My feelings towards her has nothing to do with her being strong and opinionated, that I respect.

KSigkid 10-12-2002 09:57 AM

She may be a bitch.

I don't like her at all - think she's patronizing and fake as all hell. Makes me want to turn off late-night shows when she's a guest. Can't stand her.

doubleblue&gold 10-12-2002 10:18 AM

And try as she might she'll never be Oprah! (talk show, philanthropist,, magazine with her name on the cover, etc)

LeslieAGD 10-12-2002 10:26 AM

If she didn't want people "owning" her name, she shouldn't have named her show and magazine after herself.

What was the Dateline special saying?

A man who is loud and demanding is an inconsiderate ass.

I can see ol' Rosie being a bit bitchy...after all, that's what she's calling herself now, isn't it? I don't like her. Her show was NOT funny, she herself is NOT funny, and I sure as heck wouldn't waste my time reading her magazine.

sororitygirl2 10-12-2002 12:58 PM

I think it's funny that she is so pro-gun control/anti-gun but her kids have bodyguards with guns. Hypocrite, perhaps.

three2tango 10-12-2002 01:45 PM

I'm still not sure why she is a bitch. I think she is a good person who stands up for what she believes in.
Why she is a GOOD person:
She went on national television to say she was a lesbian and to support gay adoption. One of the reasons she did this was that there was a gay male couple in Florida who had been together for 20+ years and were raising 7 kids all of whom were HIV or AIDS positive. One of these children became negative after intensive drug therapy and the state was trying to take the child away from this loving stable environment even though the child had been there since infancy. Without Rosie the voice of these individuals might not ever had been heard.

I don't think placing children in a home with a homosexual lifestyle is in the best interest of many children; however, I think that there are exceptions to every rule. The best thing for a child in any circumstances is stability and consistancy.

Rosie's show was doing well and so was the magazine. She did not have to publicly say, "I AM GAY" she could have just sat back and ignored the whispers like she had been doing. INSTEAD she used herself as an avenue for the rights of loving stable gay families to voice their opinions.

Now if you have some examples of why she is a bitch then post them, otherwise keep the slander to yourself.

Furthermore, I believe Rosie owns her name, her face and her likeness. Rosie created her "stage persona" before the mag and show began. They were just using them temporarily.

SIDENOTE: I posted the above story which is acurate; however, there might be some inconsistencies with the facts. Such as there might have been 6 kids or something like that but you get the idea.

ChiOJenn78 10-12-2002 02:37 PM

Rosie annoys me. But, so do most talk show hosts. Why is she being sued? Because she doesn't want to be part of her mag anymore-is that whats going on? I just wasn't sure.

And on a side-note, why is it that talk show hosts feel they need to have their own magazines? That always annoyed me.

carnation 10-12-2002 03:56 PM

I'm pretty sure that I read in CNN Online that her magazine had been going down the toilet rapidly.

Hootie 10-17-2002 12:26 AM

In responce to Carnation's post...
GOOD! I hope it goes down! Why on EARTH would anyone want to read a magazine that had nothing to do with Rosey anymore? Why would they waste their time? If she really wants her namesake and identity this is probably the best thing to happen (the magazine going downhill)

texas*princess 10-20-2002 02:35 AM

I thought this was pretty interesting..

Rosie is hiring high profile lawyers for the King brothers murder case

2017law 10-20-2002 05:16 PM

rosie

Rosie gave $9 million to the widows and children of 9/11. I don't know her personally, and I'm sure neither do most of you, but she was the most vocal about people with $ should give money after 9/11, and that's what she did. Hardly hypocritical.
Re: Gay adoptions- "you need a license to drive a car or own a gun, but any a**hole can have a kid." Just b/c you have a mom and a dad doesn't mean you are going to be brought up in a wonderful, loving environment.
I am concetrating on family law at a law school very involved in the gay adoption issue. I have had professors who are gay and want to be able to adopt children with their partners. Why should any child be forced to stay in a system as awful as the Florida Department of Children and Families just b/c the people who want to adopt them are the same sex? What should matter in adoption is how good or bad the person is. Not who they love. As long as the child is loved isn't that enough? I think so.
For those of you who will bash me and say I'm gay or something to that affect, go ahead. I am not gay. However, I did have a pretty bad childhood and believe that no child should ever suffer. If 2 men or 2 women can make 1 child's life better why should they be stopped?
Just my 2 cents.
And please, don't give me any bible quotes. I am well aware of the various interpretations on homosexuality in regards to the bible.
