Okay ladies.. everyone else has one of these threads... So I am starting one for us!!!
Everyone is welcome to post.. However, I would appreciate if another GLO member posts on our thread (that you keep in to the facts and POLITE). We are proud and love all our sisters... I started this so all the Pi Phi's on GC could know how other chapters are doing so far with recruitment. Pi Phi pledged 57 new angels at UGa... bringing chapter total to 168. I am proud of the Georgia Alpha ladies!!!! Ole Miss pledged 81 new angels.. bringing MS Beta to 185! University of Southern Missippi pledged 29 new angles... bringing them somewhere in the 80s! LSU pledged 75 new angels.. bringing LA Beta to 204 members! Carnation's Alabama Gamma pledged 68 new members!!!! bringing Alabama Gamma (I just love saying that) to 218 members.. The following chapters have had recruitment.. if you know... post it, tell us your story!!! The University of Central Florida (Pi Beta Phi Florida Epsilon Chapter) reached quota with a recruitment of 71 girls bringing the total of the chapter to 152! Initiation is in 8 days and we couldn't possibly be more excited!
|
Michigan Alpha just had informal recruitment. We have pledged 7 wonderful girls so far (Quota was 5)! Our formal recruitment is in January! Congrats to all of you who have had pick up so far!
|
New Mexico Beta
New Mexico Beta recieved 29 pledges bringing our house total to 61. Quota was 30.
Congratualtions to all the other chapters and their new angels! Suzi |
Ontario Gamma (University of Guelph) pledged 5 lovely ladies.
|
The Florida Delta chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Florida made quota plus two this year, making PC 2002 on Bid Day 61 girls. I believe two dropped but we accepted two snap bids, so it's all good.
|
Oregon Beta at Oregon State University pledged 7 new members on September 29. I have no idea about chapter total or quota. Michigan Epsilon at Western Michigan University pledged 12 new angels on September 28. Again, don't know quota or total. Pi Phi's newest chapter, California Nu at Loyola Marymount University, pledged 76 new cherubs. I *think* I can also find out about Kentucky Alpha and a few others....
|
Woohoo... To all our chapters and our new angels!
|
U of A Little Rock got 11 angels so far, and we still have COB to go!
TG |
Kentucky Alpha at the University of Kentucky met quota with 30 new angels! One woman has since dropped because of time constraints, but the new member I talked to says that she is having a wonderful time and the the Pi Phis showed the other chapters how it's done at the University's Greek Ball!
|
Knox College got 4 new angels. :)
I wasn't there, obviously, but that is the news from my sisters. Our school's chapter of Tri Delta got 8, but we say, Quality over Quantity. :) |
Washington Alpha (Univ of WA ) took quota plus 2 (33)
Washington Beta (Washington State) took 28 which I believe was quota Idaho Alpha took 25 Washington Gamma took 9 during informal, bringing house total to 79 (largest on campus out of 5 sororities!), looking forward to formal rush in January! |
Update on Knox rush...
another girl picked up her bid at the last minute. Which brings our total to 5. :) |
Tonight we had our first social and I don't know how many times I said, "Omigod! How cute are our Betas? How awesome is she?!" They're all too cool.
Anyway, I learned earlier tonight that our pledge class is one of the largest at UF this year, with 63 new members now. :D |
ROWDYgirl, I know exactly how you feel about the cute pledges. Ours are so adorable and fun!
Suzi |
Tennessee Gamma at the University of Tennessee pledged 48 girls, which was quota, bringing chapter total to 119 (ceiling is 100). I'm so proud of them.
|
According to MSKKG, Pi Phi at Old Miss pledged 81 new members!
|
Pi Phi's at California Theta, University of California at Davis, pledged 30 girls - one over quota! This is a big deal on our campus because we already have the biggest house, and only 4 of the 8 houses made quota this year! We just got back from pledge retreat, and I am absolutely obsessed with all 30 of our pledges. Congratulations to all the other chapters!
|
Kansas Beta -- KSU, took quota plus with 50 girls!!! There are now 178 active Kansas Betas.. YAHH
|
UPDATE
After formal and informal rush, Knox College had a total of 8 new angels. :) Everyone is very excited about welcoming them to the family! :)

michigan gamma
Here at Michigan Gamma we have 30 great pledges and i think we have one more COB left! :)
WE are super excited!!!!! |
Hey now,
This is a little late, but we initiated 8 girls last weekend. That brings us to 21 girls. It may not seem like much compared to the rest of y'all (80 women? unreal) But considering just a year and a half ago we are only 6 actives, we feel huge! and we already have a pledge class of 5 for january. We are trying so hard to break 30 for this year. I would be so happy if we could. Congrats to all the chapters who had great recruitments. This world of ours needs all the angels we can get!! pi phi love, Christine |
Monmouth got 9 wonderful girls and we will be doing a COB in the Spring. :p
|
Due to unforseen events...
Little ol' Knox College IL Beta-Deltas will not be having a winter recruitment this year. However, we're taking that to mean twice as many lovely new angels in the spring, right? I just want to send a shoutout to all of our huge sister chapters, and also to the little ones. We may be small, but we still got wings! All my crazy PiPhi lovin'!
*Random info: While our little college only has 1200 students, 5 fraternities and 2 women's fraternities, roughly 1/3 of those 1200 are Greek* As some of my sisters have been known to say: "Sororities suck. That's why I joined a WOMEN'S FRATERNITY!" |
Pi Beta Phi at Northwestern just took 44 incredible and amazing pledges, including my rush crush!
I had the most incredible experience during my first rush from the other side! Last night, as I was supposed to be preffing my rush crush, she actually preffed me, saying, "I need to tell you that before I began rush, I had my heart set on another sorority. Then I met you, and you singlehandedly changed my mind. After your informals, and getting to know you better and meeting so many amazing people, I realized that I am destined to be a Pi Phi, and I want you to be my big sister!" (as I burst into tears because I was so touched!) I did my best to tell her how much I wanted her to be a Pi Phi too without breaking any Panhellenic rules, and as I stood with her and listened to our Pref ceremony from the other side, I was amazed at how much Pi Phi has come to mean to me, how my year in Pi Phi has meant more to me than perhaps any other experience I have ever had in my life, and how very much I wanted to be able to share that with her. I seriously tossed and turned all night and couldn't sit still all day until our bid list came in because I was so afraid that this girl was not going to wind up in our house. When the list came, someone yelled to me (as I was running down from the third floor), "NUCUTIEPIE, YOU GOT YOUR GIRL!!!" I started screaming and jumping up and down and when she came to the house with the rest of her pledge class tonight, she and I ran for each other and started hugging and jumping up and down and screaming and crying because we were so happy. We also had a girl pledge whose mother was a Pi Phi and whose lifelong dream has been to become a Pi Phi. When she came in tonight, she was absolutely glowing with happiness! She already knew the words to Ring Ching Ching when we started singing it and told one of my friends that she knew she was home. As I explained in another thread, Northwestern's greek community has had some image problems this year, but to have had such an amazingly positive experience with my very first recruitment as an active really reaffirmed to me why I love being in a sorority and why people stay connected to their GLOs not only during their college years, but for their entire lives. |
Pi Phi at Washington U. in St. Louis (Mo. Beta I believe) made quota of 38 and may have had a couple more through quota plus. Y'all have a very impressive chapter here!
