anybody out there?
Woohoo, i'm now a member of Phi Alpha Delta at U of Pittsburgh school of law.
I must say that i'm not a fan of how it's called "P.A.D." in some publications i've seen. What's next- Tau Alpha Mu Pi Omicron Nu? Just joking. Anyway, i know there's some law people on greekchat... |
Dani, you're not the only one out there! I was initiated into the Alden Chapter (University at Buffalo) in 1997!
I'm sure there are more Phi Alpha Deltas on GC...I hope I can encourage them to start posting more often! :) |
Phi Alpha Delta from University of Southern Cal, 1989, here
So yeah, I dropped my lawyerly aspirations along the way, but was still a great group to be in! |
I was almost a Phi Alpha Delta, but I bombed the LSAT and didn't feel like continuing with the founding. Many of my friends and even some sisters were founding members. They are all very successful lawyers now. You are in good company. :)
|
Amycat, are you still active with Phi Alpha Delta? I'm thinking about maybe joining the LA Alumnae Chapter, but I don't know how active they are!
|
No, I'm not active. I got a mailing from them not all that long ago tho...

Re signatures
Hi Cynthia,
Here's an example, the Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity colors - gold and purple are used and I added the text Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity too, as in your current sig. Though you could equally use their motto "Service to the student, the school, the profession and the community" or anything else you chose. Example: P A D Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity How to reproduce example: It's done by using the codes, e.g to make text bold you put [ b ] before a word. And [ / b ] after it. Except without those spaces in between the brackets [] and the letters inside. In other words [codeletter] not [ codeletter ]. If I type the codes, it'll actually make whatever I type bold or in color, or a particular size etc so when you copied it offscreen only the actual text not its attributes (color, size etc) would be stored for you to paste in to the signature section. The easiest way for you to get the greek letters is to copy the code below. When you copy and paste it for your signature, simply remove those spaces between all those brackets to "activate" the code and you'll be good to go. Obviously the example I used above is just an example, so you can change it (change around coloring/fonts/remove the quote, whatever) if it's unsuitable! Code - WITH SPACES TO REMOVE - to put in signature so you can reproduce example: [ size=6 ] [ b ] [ COLOR=purple ]P [ /color ] [ COLOR=gold ]A[ /color ][ COLOR=purple ] D[ /color ] [ /size ] [ size=3 ] [ i ] [ FONT=times new roman ] [ COLOR=purple ]Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity[ /size ] [ /i ] [ /FONT ] [ /color ] [ /b ] Up at the top of each page on here is the button for the "user cp", within the 'Edit Profile' section of that user control panel, paste that code into the Signature section of your profile, spend a few moments removing the spaces between the brackets so they read [codeinhere] and [/othercodeinhere] not [ codeinhere ] and [ /othercodeinhere ], amend any wording as you wish and that, Cynthia, will be it! decadence. P.S Please note: I am not a member of P.A.D. Just saw your message and thought I'd lend a hand. |
@decadence
Thanks! |
Welcome to Greek Chat, Cynthia! I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do! :)

Rush Results
So today is our application deadline (although we will, of course, still take apps up until initiation - Oct. 16). As of 3 hours ago, we had 49 new members!!!! We have 39 initiated members- so we're well over doubling our size! I'm betting that we'll get at least 1/2 dozen more. I'm very excited!
We're faculty initiating our Dean of Students, and we're waiting to hear back from Executive office about our honorary initiate nominee (the current PA atty' general who is awaiting senate confirmation to be appointed to the 3rd Circuit Ct of Appeals!) WOOHOO for Watson chapter. |
Dani, that's great news! Many congratulations and be sure to keep us updated on your progress.
How are your classes going? What are you taking this semester? |
WOOHOO! We have 60 applications so far, with 13 days before initiation.
Our honorary initiate was approved and we asked him last night and he accepted. PA Attorney General Mike Fisher will be our newest honorary initiate! A big-name honor initiate can definately help boost applications- i've already given out 3 more applications in the past hour after sending out an email an hour and a half ago saying that we were extending our deadline. Chapter record in a year is 75 initiates- we may very well break that this semester! Classes are good so far. I'm taking Business Organizations, Evidence, Sex Discrimination, Employment Law, Negotiation, and State Atty General Law. I'm also doing trial moot court this semester- my trials are this coming Tuesday and the Tuesday after. I'm slightly insane at the moment, but I feel like i'm getting a ton done! |
I'm here too, I will be initiated on Monday.
|
I'm here, too, only I'm a pre-law member at Baylor's chapter.
LOL @ Tau Alpha Mu Pi Omicron Nu...I was a little weirded out by the "PAD" thing, too. One of my friends who is studying Greek says that it should be "FAD" because of the Phi, but that's probably not that big of an improvement, LOL. |
:)
|
real quiet in here...........:(

Pre-law member. :)
