Spartygirl22 - Hope you are planning to post your story so us addicts can get our fixes! Best of luck to you!

Spartygirl22 09-30-2002 09:59 PM

Sure, I'll post my story if you can stand another rush thread.

AXO_MOM_3 09-30-2002 10:08 PM

Oh yeah, I think I can stand it! Now everything else may suffer (school, family life, etc) while I'm reading the board non-stop! Have a GREAT time!

MooseGirl 09-30-2002 11:22 PM

Good Luck Spartygirl22! have a great time this weekend!

PurdueGirlie 09-30-2002 11:58 PM

MICHIGAN!!

Hey Spartygirl! Woo-hoo, glad to see a Michigander going through rush. :)

I have some Greek friends at MSU. Mainly guys, but I do know a nice girl who is a KD there. I've also heard very good things about the Sigma Kappa chapter there. (I'm a little biased, hehe... I'll definitely be rooting for Sigma Kappa!)

Where in Michigan are you from? Just curious! :)

Have a great rush, I wish you the best of luck :)

Beryana 10-01-2002 12:30 AM

Sparty-
Have a GREAT time this weekend!! Keep an open mind when you go through all houses (and remember not to just look at the structures!). I look forward to hearing your story - especially since I've helped with Rush the past two years and miss 'my girls' (so yes, I am SLIGHTLY biased!)! :)

Sarah

can't have too many...

rush threads that is.
have a ball and just be you.

MoxieGrrl 10-01-2002 08:55 AM

If we can stand another rush thread.....hehehe....no one could live without them! :)

So.........what are you wearing for rush?

Spartygirl22 10-01-2002 01:55 PM

Well, Rush doesn't start until thursday but I'll start my story now. I am a junior, from Grosse Pointe MI, I don't know if any of you know where that is but somebody asked me where I'm from. I am a little nervous going through rush as a junior, but I think being part of a sorority is something that I really would like to do, and I would regret it if I didn't at least go through rush. Tommorow we meet with our Rho Chis. For the first day we are going to the IM building where each sorority will have their own section, and we walk around to each one. At the information meeting they told us that this first night is pretty casual, they suggested wearing capris or a casual skirt, so I think I am going to wear a khaki skirt and an cute green top from American Eagle. So, thats all for now, I'll let you all know what happens.

AOX81 10-01-2002 01:57 PM

Good luck Spartygirl22!!!

MoxieGrrl 10-01-2002 02:12 PM

Good luck!!! :D

PurdueGirlie 10-01-2002 05:14 PM

Yep, I know where GP is. I live about an hour from there, if that.

Good luck! :)

ZTAngel 10-01-2002 05:40 PM

Yay! A rush thread with ZTA! :D

MooseGirl 10-01-2002 06:50 PM

I know where Grosse Pointe is too! it's so cool to hear about a rush story from back home..well kinda back home.

BTW one of my fave movies was Grosse Pointe Blank....

Good Luck again!

XOMichelle 10-01-2002 08:59 PM

Good Luck!
Be yourself and try to have fun. That's the best way to go through recruitment.

lico,
M

Spartygirl22 10-02-2002 12:20 PM

There are a few that I am interested in so far, Sigma Kappa and Kappa Alpha Theta, but I don't want to go in thinking that those are the only ones that I would want to be a part of. There are some chapters that I know nothing about, so hopefully I will get to know more about them. And thanks to everyone who wished me good luck, you guys are awesome here :)

BGKdLady 10-02-2002 01:15 PM

Best of luck to you and most of all have FUN! I know nothing about the KD chapter there, I just remember visiting the campus for BG/MSU hockey - it's a gorgeous place!

Keep us posted!:p

Kappa Delta AOT

Spartygirl22 10-02-2002 10:16 PM

Just got back from meeting with the Rho Chis. They are so awesome, and I cannot wait for tommorow.

MSKKG 10-02-2002 11:05 PM

Have fun! I'm glad you're keeping an open mind. There are some great groups on your campus (Kappa Kappa Gamma, for example!), and I would hope your being a junior wouldn't affect your chances.

At the University of South Carolina, juniors and seniors are considered "free" new members, meaning they don't count towards quota. Needless to say, at USC, juniors and seniors are most welcome!!!

Good luck--keep us posted!

I think that is fantastic! I wish it were like that at every school!

Spartygirl, good luck, and I can't wait to hear all about your rush!

xo_kathy 10-04-2002 09:45 AM

So, how was the first day? Please keep us rush thread addicts informed, SpartyGirl!

MSU is the same - Juniors and Seniors do not count towards quota.

State does have some wonderful chapters (all of them actually) but keep an open mind and remember that the chapter is more than the house :)

Spartygirl22 10-04-2002 03:24 PM

The first day went well, it was so exhausting , we spent 5 hours going to each soroities booth in the IM. I was invited back to Pi Beta Phi, Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Omnicron Pi and Sigma Delta Tau. We go to the houses tonight.

Allie 10-04-2002 03:32 PM

Best of luck with rush! :)

My old roomie was an AOTT and I know a handful of the Pi Phi's and I live across from the Thetas, so I will most definitly be checking up on your rush thread! I hope you have FUN during rush and best of luck to you!

-Allie

LeslieAGD 10-05-2002 11:33 PM

Glad your first night went well, Sparty! Hope you had fun tonight!

Allie 10-05-2002 11:35 PM

*BUMP*

Can we get an update. I have seen a lot of girls visit the Theta house in the last two days, so I'm dying to hear the rest of your rush story :)

confused22 10-06-2002 11:47 AM

allie

allie what frat or sorority are u in????

DZetaBiotch 10-06-2002 01:55 PM

Sigma Alpha is an agricultural sorority...kind of like a women's version of Alpha Gamma Rho (if you have that on your campus...Aggers are huge here!) We have SA at our school too :)

Allie 10-06-2002 02:49 PM

DZB got it almost right. I'm a member of Sigma Alpha Sorority. We are an organization for women who have a personal or professional interest in agriculture and natural resources. We original and do not have an official brother fraternity because we are not part of NPC.

Just to set the record straight ;)

I am sorry to interrupt SpartyGirl22's recruitment thread... just wanted to add that no NPC sororities have brother fraternities either. It is not allowed...

If anyone has any questions about this, there is another thread that addresses it if you do a search!

SpartyGirl, I am glad you are enjoying recruitment!!!

Now, back to your reguarly scheduled programming...

LeslieAGD 10-07-2002 10:26 PM

Update please!

CelticGal 10-09-2002 05:20 PM

Good luck SpartyGirl22! I've also heard great things about the Sigma Kappa chapter there, but you find the house you're most comfortable with.

Beryana 10-09-2002 10:05 PM

I hope that Sparty was just SO busy with rush this past weekend and will let us know where her new home is as bid day was Monday. . . :)

Sarah

KarenC725 10-09-2002 10:33 PM

This is torture! She's from my town too! I know that my friends sister went Alpha Phi (a fine group of women).

GPhiBLtColonel 10-10-2002 03:35 AM

I hope everything went okay...

...for SpartyGirl...why hasn't she told us anything? I feel a little worried!

TwinkleAngel 10-10-2002 07:14 PM
