One of my friends sent me this quiz so I thought I would share it with you all. I got an 85.

Well guys, my score was a whopping 110!!!!! But it's no surprise to me (or those who grew up with me). :D :D You can surely believe that I'm "brought from the hood" and that I "had a hard knock life". But thank GOD that I WANTED more and that I was EXPOSED to something much deeper.

Dang, let's chalk this score of 43 up to my child hood. I am black...really I am!

I got an 84.

The bulk of my points came from questions 2-4. Why do I still eat Now and Laters to this day? Oh! And question 25. Why do I have no qualms taking me a plate home from a BBQ to have for my lunch the next day? NO SHAME AT ALL.

Oftentimes, my students laugh at me when I can identify with a lot of the things they do. This is a really good thread; it made me laugh!:D

I got an 88, and I just posted a comment on another thread in this forum about #33...my g-grandma who we used to call "Ma'Dear." I love bein' black y'all!:D

I scored a big 112!! Its not my fault, its my parents fault. I guess when you grow up in Louisiana in the ghetto most of those things become a normal part of life. And I'm only 16, gosh I live a full life.

I got a 92 straight from the hood, but the funny thing is I was brought up in the suburbs. I guess you can take a person out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of a person. ;)

I got a 79. It should have been higher because all my friends say I am to ghetto.

Y'all know that "Mudear" is short/country slang for "Mother Dear".

And uh, I never "slept in a chair" to keep my hair do 'skrait', but in the past I would "pretty sleep" where you kinda prop your head up on your hands and sleep light to keep the 'butta laid...

And I might be ghetto, but we played "Mother May I", not "Momma May I". And how 'bout "Hot Peas and Butter, Come and Get Your Supper" or "Colored Eggs" - those games were live wire.

I got one to add tho...

5 points if you "ran in the sprinkler" when it was hot...

10 if it was an open fire hydrant...

and a whopping 25 points if y'all took some plastic garbage bags, cut them open, spread them out, and made a bootleg "slip and slide" where y'all slid on the bags while somebody else sprayed with the water hose...

Oh, Three_Love, you touched my heart with this one. I even taught my 12-year old son this trick, and his friends LOVED it.

not only did we play slip n slide with the trash bags...
we had water gun fights...
with the water hose.. we didn't have the big fancy super soakers.
and we saved up money for the balloons.

yall remember the doll houses out the old washin machine boxes, and everybody else had the barbie dream house. we colored 'em with crayons, markers, or whatever we had.

those boxes were forts, hideouts whatever. and yall remember when the box finally broke...tears, straight tears.

Madear. That must be some ole country slang, because I swear I've never heard of it. When I think about it, some of this stuff isn't ghetto at all. I wouldn't know what to call it though.

Ok I got a 83 and 20 of that came from still thinkin Tupac is still alive. I know thats bad but us Cali people have to keep hope alive, plus I love Tupac and i just want him 2 come back and prove alot of people wrong. :D

sidenote: i knew it was gon be aight when i moved in my dorm last year, in fear of never living ghettofab again, and a girl downstairs from me had boric acid laid out in the cracks of her floor. that brought it home 4 me!

1) Ruint is a word!!
2) Since obviously I'm ghetto fab (don't know how that happened) has anyone else taken a shower in a bathtub that has no shower head? My ex's mother lived in public housing and they just had bathtubs...no shower head whatsoever. So we'd take a pitcher into the bathroom to shower with. Am I really the ONLY person who's done this??

I'm sorry, but that is ghetto. House shoes are called house shoes because they are to be worn in the house. :)

I agree with you about the games.

My momma was the candy lady, but I just think she was being a good entrepreneur, not ghetto. She saw a demand so she supplied the goods. It was just a little gig on the side, and I always had the most toys in the neighborhood. ;)

This quiz has been in existence for years now and in its original form, it was never called the GHETTO FABULOUS QUIZ, I believe it was something related to being Black.

I hate the term ghetto fabulous very much.
A lot of the questions IMO just relate to growing up Black in America; it has nothing to do with being ghetto or fabulous.

The stuff ont his quiz strikes me as regional and relating to your culture. I'm West Indian and not from the South, so most of the stuff on this list is just stuff my family did not do.

I'm with CT4 though, I do not understand why this quiz has to be 'ghetto'. Since when is playing red light/green light or tag ghetto????

...I had to share this with you guys....tell me how ghetto do you think this is....
I sent the quiz to a friend of mine who works at a bank...she printed out and all her co workers took the test...
While on her lunch ...this girl was taking the test...and to my friend she said...I never used dish detergent for bubble bath...(pertaining to question #6 on the quiz) but I have used it to wash my clothes....

I say that is GHETTO!!! She need to add 35 to her score...what do you think?

my score is 47

i attribute it to growing up in both the 'burbs and the 'hood (2 years). Also we call my grandmother - ma-dea.

I also contribute the score to people ALWAYS saying that I wanted to be white or talk white when I was younger :rolleyes:
