 I don't see a post ?
|
I don't know what happened!!!!
I made a post, but i don't know. . .it didn't go through.
My point was. . . EWWWWWWWWWWW I really did NOT need to see what happened on ER tonight! I really think that they have gone entirely too far. I don't wanna say what happened for those who haven't seen it yet. But I will say that I HIGHLY DOUBT I will watch the show ever again. |
oh my @ Romano's arm GONE!!
I hate his character but what a way to lose an arm. I was :o  :o  for a couple of minutes. |
I'm almost too scared to ask what happened :o
|
when I saw his arm come off I just stared at the screen for a couple of minutes in shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
I taped it and haven't watched it yet but now I'm not sure if I want to. Is it that bad?
|
It's pretty graphic, but go ahead and watch it so we can all be on one accord. :-)
|
Granted it was a little graphic but I won't stop watching the show. The part the got me was he was down on the ground and he turned his head and he saw his arm (I think) far away. That would so totally freak me out. But I;ve seen worst on shows. For example C.S.I. its show the cornonor doing a lobatomy (cutting the head, using the saw, and opening up the skull). Let me tell you that was nasty. I turned my head. I still say that old school anti-smoking comerical with the old lady with the hole in the throat and smokes through it, freaks me out even more than CSI or ER did. It gives me the hebbie jebbies..........

Hehehe, when I saw the little disclaimer at the beginning of the show, I knew it was true. I'm a diehard ER fan, and I heard the rumor that his arm was going to get chopped off by the helicopter, but I didn't really believe it in full.
It looked really real though, good special effects... I thought it was funny when he was like "Oh, God, I'm at County." |
Romano's just your resident asshole...but damn, that guy didn't have to get his arm sliced off.
Great show tonight [even though I missed 20 minutes of it while I was outside watching the drug bust going on at my neighbor's house] and I can't wait to see the other episodes. It's not the same without Dr. Greene though. :( |
Yeah, I miss Dr. Greene. When he died that was the saddest ER ever... I felt sad for Elizabeth when she was reading that paper on selling her house... :(

That old school looking red car they used [the one where he tries to teach Rachel how to drive] actually belongs to [deep breath] my chapter sister's BF's dad. They were paid $1000 a day just for use of that car. I can watch that episode over and over and I still get chills everytime I hear IZ's song playing as he slips away. |
I think ER went to far too. IMO, they appear to be doing this because they are "jumping the shark". In other words to get ratings, since ER is already 9 years old, ratings have probably dropped. To revive them, they needed something of shock value, i.e. Ramono's arm chopped off.
|
Except for the Mark Green has Died episode, we stopped watching it last year around the time the baby ate Ecstasy. Got too ridiculous, the show lost it's focus.
|
I thought it was a very exciting episode. I didn't mind the gore...I always watch the surgery channel and stuff, so it wasn't too bad.
|
YES!
Thank you, I was looking for that exact phrase. The shark has indeed been jumped.

Yeah it was on last night. It starts at 9pm. But where I live it starts at 8pm because the local news on that channel starts at 10pm. I couldn't watch it either. Sure I'm a bio major but I dealing with plants and animals not bodies. OHHHH my cadiver story. My lab teacher for general bio was also the antamomy professor. Well I went into her classroom to ask her a question and when I walked in, there was 2 cadivers on tables in all their glory. I was shocked cuz I never saw a dead body beside at a funeral. I was like ummmmmm, yeah not good. Then this guy in the class started giving me crap cuz of my reaction. I was like dude back off I wasn;t expecting it......Anyways that's all |
When I looked at the name of this thread I ws like WTF is Er? Now I see you meant ER. I missed it last night.
|
Speaking of Jumping the Shark. . .
I went to http://www.jumptheshark.com and am reading when folks think it jumped.
|
That was the most disgusting thing that I have ever seen on tv. I thought that I was going to be sick. I was watching it with my sister who was on her laptop. She missed it, and I'm freaking out, "Oh my God! I can't believed they showed that on tv!" She said, "What? What!" I freaked out for about ten minutes. I somehow managed to calm down. I knew that something was going to happen after that patient kept saying he didn't want to get into the helicopter. I knew it would be bad. I had no idea that it would be that bad. :(
|
Ok, can someone please explain what happened to Ramano's arm? I came in and they were trying to reattach it. How did it come off, exactly, and did it get reattached? Can you be a one-armed doctor? Thanks!
|
The doctors were evacuating the hospital and taking patients to the roof so they could leave by helicoptor. Ramano was loading a patient into the helicopter and accidently got caught in the rotating blades. Arm goes flying off.
I would not be surprised if this was ER's last season. It really has "jumped the shark". In other words, the producers wanted to get the audiences' attention by pulling something like this. Now the show will never be the same and ratings will drop. This will cause the show to cancel. This seems to happen to shows that have been around for 8-9 years. That's my prediction.... we will see what comes of it in the next couple of months. |
So wait... why were they having the patients leave? I caught the last part of ER, and I was kinda confused why the ER was empty.
|
Ok, they had to evacuate the hospital because of the small pox contamanation. At first, they just evacuated the ER. Then this time they evacuated the whole hospital as a precaution. The small pox cases were from the season finally from last season. The only ones who stayed was Carter and Abby and a few other people.
|
I finally watched the tape of ER. The arm thing was soo disgusting! The thing is, they had a pretty intense story going with the small pox and the quarentine and Elizabeth in London that it didn't really need Romano's arm as another story line. IMO, they went too far with the shock value.

JAG
Okay..sort of on/off topic....
I watched the season premiere. Bud had part of his leg amputated. Did this happen in real life? Back to ER after someone answers my question, ;) :D |
I watched JAG, and I don't think it happened in real life, cuz I just looked it up online, and they didn't say anything about the actor, just about on the show, and something about Bud and the mine...
ER is really going for the shock value these last few seasons, I think the writers are all like "Let's see who we can put through the meat grinder (no pun intended) next..." Every season something bad had to happen to like three people, and I think it's just lazy writing! A little too overdramatic, but I guess it is ER, and drama sells... L. |
Did anyone else find it amusing that the small pox turned out to be mutated monkey pox?
