Rush At South Alabama!
 

Hey everyone this is going to be my thread for my rush experience! Tonight was Ice Breakers/Ice Water Tea. I had such a good time meeting all the sisters in the different sororities. Boy was it loud in there all the cheering, singing, clapping, then the talking. At one house I had to keep asking the girl to repeat herself because I couldn't hear her, so Rushers please keep in mind if you are in a small room either get closer to the girl or try and speak where she can hear ya! All of the houses were so great. The girls were so nice, I can't wait to go back for philanthropy night! I never realized how different each sorority is but I'm learing alot! I pick up my invitations tomorrow morning but then i have to go to work (yuck) but I will post about what happens tomorrow night when I get home, which will be late. So wish me luck for tomorrow and I'll chat with everyone soon!!!!

Just a short update. I got invited back to only 2 parties tonight, the most you could be invited to was 4. I still hope that i have a good chance of being picked. I'll talk to ya'll later!

University of Alabama--- ROLL TIDE!!!!!

OK everyone, sorry I'm late I finally got to see my sweetie after 2 whole days apart LOL. He's a manager at a Deli that just opened up so I hardly see him. But anyway on to the good stuff. I was invited back to the Chi Omega and the Alpha Gamma Delta houses tonight. I had the GREATEST time at both houses. Tonight was Philanthropy night and we learned about the different way each sorority gives back to the community or to a certain organization. At the Chi-O house we made beaded bracelets to give the women at the local cancer hospital. I think my 2 ended up looking pretty good. They also talked about finances and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. At the Alpha Gam house we made bookmarks to give to some of the children at another local hospital (a different one I think). they were so cute little squirrels with the Greek letters and a little acorn at the bottom. My little bookmark was, well, kinda sad looking. The glue didn't hold very well. All the sisters were so wonderful, at least 10 sisters talked to me, they just kept dropping in to say Hi and happy to see you back! I can't wait until I get my invitations tomorrow morning. I will try and post which houses I get invited back to before I leave for work in the A.M. so wish me luck everyone!!!!!!!

P.S. DZROSE the U of South Alabama is in Mobile, Alabama. we have the following sororities on campus:
Phi Mu
Chi Omega
Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Delta Pi
Kappa Delta
I think about 130 girls are rushing this year but I really wouldn't know. I do know that 3 of the girls in my Rho Chi group have either been dropped or dropped themselves. It's too bad they were really cool, too.

Am I reading the posts wrong? Sara posted her last message today (right?!) saying she wouldn't find out until tomorrow. Maybe she doesn't know yet where she has been invited back to. Or am I losing my mind? Wouldn't be the first!

I think she said they pick up invitations in the morning there and go to parties at night.

she posted at 2am, so she should be picking them up today... that's what i got from it.

WOW!!!! I never knew so many of you cared about lil' ol' me! I feel so special! Anyway the reason my posts are so late is that I live about 45 minutes from the campus, I work during the day, and my nerves are shot because of all the worrying I have been doing all week long so when I get home I'm beat. When I post saying it's today I may be getting on here late, I mean it's 11:44 P.M. my time. I also want to relax so I can gather my thoughts on how I want to present this to you. So on with the show!!!
I was invited back to Chi Omega and Alpha Gamma Delta again! My first party tonight was with the Chi Omega house. Their theme was really cute! Planet Chi-O, like Planet Hollywood. I talked with many different girls some I had talked with before on the previous nights and a few new girls I've never met. It was so cool we all sat down any the did their skit for us. As they all sang a song while they showed their slideshow, I saw these girls hugging and crying together. I even teared up, BTW I never cry. I had a really good time there.

From there I went on to the Alpha Gam house. Their skit was Mission Impossible, Project Sisterhood! It was so cute! it started out with 2 girls Moving in to a "dorm room" talking about times past as Alpha Gams. As they talked the spotlight moved to different areas of the room where different girls played out what they were talking about. It was so funny. Then there was a slide show. It was really sweet. Then a sister got up and gave a little speech about what Alpha Gamma Delta meant to her. I was moved, I was so touched by the genuineness of what she said. I bawled like a baby, remember I never, and I mean NEVER, cry. Tears were streaming down my face. I have never felt this way before you guys. I know where I want to be. I know where I have to be. My decision has been made but it's now up to the sisters to decide if they want me back. I couldn't have stressed enough to the last girl I talked to how happy I was there, how I felt like I already belonged there, how I wanted to be there, how honored I was to be back there. This has been the most wonderful experience of my life. I can only hope the rest of you feel the same way I do. Rush is the best decision I made this year. I only hope the girls think as highly of me as I so of them.

Well, gang until tomorrow morning, I'm supposed to have the day off if I'm invited back so I will be able to update. If I'm not invited back I'll have to just suck it up and go on with my life but I know I want to be a part of that organization. I hope that the rest of you will pray for me tonight and wish me luck for tomorrow!

We have Alpha Omicron Pi NOT Alpha Delta Pi so aopirose I apologize to you personally. I have my blonde moments, but then again who doesn't? LOL

Hey everyone!!
I'm posting early today because I GOT INVITED BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!! So that means no work today, WOO-HOO! I got an invitation to Chi Omega this morning. I was quite disappointed not to be invited back to Alpha Gamma Delta but I know that I'll be in the sorority I belong in. Alpha Gam really was special to me but I have to go on a see what Chi-O has to offer me. Now my only worry is going to be Bid Day tomorrow. My Rho Chi will call if I didn't get a bid so in a sense "No news is Good news." So I would like to say again Thank you for all your support and care over this past week, I feel like all of you are already my sisters. Thank you all sooooooo much, please wish me luck and pray that I get a Bid tomorrow!!!!!
