Underwear

Okay, so I was listening to the radio the other day and my morning radio people were talking about some poll about guys biggest fantasies. According to this poll, the biggest fantasy was "matching bra and panties." Then two of the people on the radio started arguing about it. So my question is...

How important are matching bra and panty sets?

Guys:
Is it a total turn-on if a girl is wearing a set? Is it a turn-off if she isn't?

Girls:
Are sets important to you all the time or just for special occasions?

AchtungBaby80 09-21-2002 10:51 PM

No.

Normally I like my clothes to match, including underwear, but it's not like I won't leave the house if (gasp!) my bra and pants aren't a matching set.

Rudey 09-21-2002 11:08 PM

Girls with really big breasts tend to have bras with more than one hook and that gets annoying. If you manage to keep it simple and don't have weird stains then no guy will be complaining.

I like mine to match every day, but I am not compulsive or anything. If I can find a matching set as I dig through the drawer in a rush to get dressed and ready for work -- cool. If not -- whatever... I don't stress.

Dionysus 09-22-2002 12:04 AM

I am now wearing grey briefs and a black sports bra (under my clothes). That's close enough. :D

KillarneyRose 09-22-2002 12:26 AM

Ok, I admit that I'm obsessive about my bras and panties matching. Every one of my bras has a panty-partner; as a matter of fact I have my lingerie drawer set up in small compartments and each compartment holds a bra-and-panty set.

Bet that's a bit more than you all wanted to know, isn't it! :D

RACooper 09-22-2002 01:33 AM

I have always been personally fond of the matching set... I can't explain why, but the girl just seems sexier.... most likely because it appears tha she made an extra effort to impress.

valkyrie 09-22-2002 12:09 PM

Oh good lord, I had no idea that anybody cared. Let me tell you, when a woman has large breasts, she is thrilled to even find bras that fit. I am not going to bother matching my underwear to them. Besides, my favorite bras in the whole world come in only solid colors -- black or white or beige. How boring would it be if I only wore black or white or beige underwear? Yikes.

LOL at panty-partner. That made my day :)

Yeah its cool when they match if they are matching for you, like she put time and effort into you seeing her. The biggest turn off though is no underwear. Espcially for one night stand hook ups. Gross.

KayDee422 09-22-2002 04:08 PM

Not only do they have to match in color, they have to match in style.. I won't mix satin & cotton, etc. And they always, always, always match. ;) I don't think I could leave the house if they didn't!! Obsessive is a word that would definitely fit. And I have them sorted in three different drawers based on their style.. :D

Geesh, that sounds sooo weird reading, but I never thought about it before!

KappaKittyCat 09-22-2002 04:09 PM

I have matching sets, but I only wear them if there's a chance somebody important's going to see them. Then I dress to impress.

And I hate it that the only bras that fit me comfortabley are expensive (i.e. Victoria's Secret). How come guys get to buy their underwear in packages of six and we have to buy ours separately and they're expensive? Not fair.

ksig600 09-23-2002 09:23 AM

I dont care about the matching panty/bra sets...
as long as you are gettin' it, who cares what the packaging looks like.

KappaKittyCat 09-23-2002 11:30 AM

My XBF used to say, "What does it matter? They're just going to wind up on the floor anyway."

33girl 09-23-2002 11:35 AM

I try to coordinate, but matching every day would make me nuts.

Tracy, you worry me sometimes. ;)

Hootie 09-23-2002 02:27 PM

I have no panty bra coordination at all...UNLESS it's a special occassion. First of all, Victoria Secret bras are extreamly expensive. I'd be paying a fortune to supply myself with every matching set and a multitude of colorful bras.
Furthermore, they come out with new panty colors like every other month. It's so hard to keep track.
I have a few solid colored bras...mostly the nudes, blacks, whites...but that still doesn't match EVERY set of panties I own.

I do, however, have a friend that used to work there and she owns a lot of matching things. As a matter of fact she ALWAYS matches. But then again, she's in debt because of her matching habit...
I think I'll stick to my sorta matching combos.

For some really beautiful (but very expensive... ie. $300+) bra and panty sets, those of you who are addicts should check out La Perla. It is Italian and ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

Why would you drop $300 on underwear?!?

sororitygirl2 09-23-2002 06:31 PM

Well, I don't... although I have been very tempted to buy on end-of-season sales. But if you have tons of money and it makes you happy... why not treat yourself?

SKRae 09-23-2002 08:28 PM

I agree, $300!!!!!!! I usually wear a white bra and then my underwear almost always matches. Hey, I work hard for rent, a place to stay is a little more important than looking cute half naked.

 *boggles* Hey, am I dating your exboyfriend??lol :p

Back on topic though, hehe :) I'm not -that- obsessive about the matching deal....if I know it's gonna be seen then it'll be matching..if not..then I don't care..hehe :)

James 09-23-2002 08:42 PM

To Brother ksig600:

LOL there is always an element of gratitude to getting it. LOL.

To those people that say it will only end up on the floor:

Guys will usually only say that if you don't match all the time, what else can we say? Although some guys don't care at all.

I would say:

It matters as an enhancement no guy is going to be like, "you are aesthetically displeasing you must leave!".

I agree with RACooper there is something erotic about matching sets. I think its because men are visually stimulated and there is something nice, symetrical, and appealing about a matching set and the way it looks on a body.

The same way a girl might be more impressed with one guy out of two equally attractive men when one is better color coordinated.

*shrug* If you can arrange it please match.

Hopefully I made some sense there.

valkyrie 09-23-2002 10:48 PM

Hey, if a guy wants to keep me well stocked in the underwear department, I will match all the time. Really, I figure that I have to do all the work of carrying these things around all day, so that's how he can make his contribution, right?

Seriously, though, I spend an average of $40-$70 per bra and it's very hard to find ones that are actually comfortable and, heh, do the job. I couldn't imagine finding enough of them to match underwear AND be comfortable AND being able to afford it. Sure I could just wear plain black or whatever color underwear, but I usually like something a little more exciting.

KappaKittyCat 09-23-2002 11:08 PM

Valkyrie,

Perhaps we could arrange a breast-to-breast transplant? That'd leave us both with moderately sized attatchments and we'd both be able to find cheaper bras that fit.

valkyrie 09-24-2002 12:15 AM

KappaKittyCat, ROFL!! That's the best idea I've heard all day! :)

Corbin Dallas 09-24-2002 10:09 AM

I bet it wouldn't be that hard to find someone to walk around with you holding them up all day :)
