Legally Blonde Sequel!!
Don't know if this is new news or not... if not, please forgive me!
I LOVED Legally Blonde... especially the fashion in it. Amazing how they incorporated it into the characters.... If you look carefully in the scene where all the sisters are gathered in the foyer before Reese goes off to dinner with her boyfriend, you'll see that each sister has a different charm bracelet! Stolen from luxuryfashion.com: "Reese Witherspoon will get her biggest paycheck to date to reprise her role as the Dolce & Gabbana-clad Elle Woods in the sequel Legally Blonde. The actress/mom will also serve as producer to the flick, said to be called Legally Blonde II: Red White, and Blonde. Despite not having a director attached to the pic the studio set the start date as November with a July 2003 release. Reese, at 26, is said to be also hoping to develop her character into a comedy for ABC. She can next be seen in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama. Meanwhile, husband Ryan Phillipe, 27, recently revealed what we've known for ages: the couple attends marriage therapy sessions." XOXO, Annie, who is SO EXCITED! |
She's hot, but that movie sounds stupid. So many great movies have been ruined by sequals. The neverending story, All Dogs go to Heaven, etc.
|
What kind of story could you do now? Elle tring to pass her bar exam?
|
bar exam?? I'm taking that on my 21s birthday.
|
yay
Omg! that is awesome!
i went nuts over legally blonde and loved the movie so much. That will be so great that there will be a sequel!! love ashley |
I read about this a couple of weeks ago. I absolutely loved the first one; loved it so much I own it; might watch it this weekend. :D
Sequel rights: 'Stein' director prefers 'Blonde' Tue Sep 10, 1:29 AM ET By Chris Gardner and Zorianna Kit LOS ANGELES (The Hollywood Reporter) --- Helmer Charles Herman-Wurmfeld, who made his feature directorial debut on the Fox Searchlight romantic comedy "Kissing Jessica Stein," has closed a deal to direct Reese Witherspoon in MGM's "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde." The Kate Kondell-penned project is on a fast track at MGM after the studio recently closed a deal with "Legally Blonde" star Witherspoon to reprise her role in the sequel as Elle Woods for $15 million. A November start is being prepped. The sequel sees Witherspoon's Woods head to Washington to battle politicos after her triumphant -- and surprising -- success as a Beverly Hills sorority girl-turned-Harvard Law School graduate. Marc Platt is producing through his Universal Pictures-based Marc Platt Prods. along with Witherspoon, who is producing through her Intermedia Film-based Type A Films. Elizabeth Ingold is overseeing for MGM. Herman-Wurmfeld's deal to direct the sequel is not entirely surprising considering that he directed the television pilot based on the film for MGM TV and Touchstone TV. "Legally Blonde" the series is still in contention for a midseason pickup at ABC. Herman-Wurmfeld's "Stein" proved to be a boxoffice success for Searchlight. The film -- which follows the unlikely courtship between two young New York women -- cost less than $800,000 to make and has grossed north of $7 million at the domestic boxoffice. Since "Stein," Herman-Wurmfeld has directed TV's "The Facts of Life Reunion." He is repped by Broder-Webb-Chervin-Silbermann and attorney Alan Wertheimer. |
I haven't seen the movie, but I picture Legally Blonde as an older version of Clueless. I really liked Clueless. ***whatever*** ;)

They'd better keep the same guy as her fiancee/husband! Hootie;) |
hmmmmmm. I am a huuuuge legally blonde fan. I relate everything to that movie because it teaches such a good life lesson about stereotypes and about how important it is to be nice to everyone because eventually, they will come around, and those who arent are just not worth it. I can recite the entire movie by heart, however, i am not so sure that it would make a good sequel. but of course, SOME sequels are good, even better than the first. Take toy story II, that movie was a riot, so there is always hope

it opens in july
Starring: Reese Witherspoon, Sally Field, Bob Newhart, Luke Wilson, Regina King
Comedy Pink-loving, blonde-haired Harvard Law School graduate Elle Woods (Witherspoon) returns in this sequel, as she turns her legal and fashion-savvy know-how towards getting a bill passed through Congress, relocating a second time, after adapting her Beverly Hills ways to Harvard, and now... Washington, D.C. The issue at hand is animal testing, which Elle becomes concerned about when the parents of her dog can't attend the pet's wedding because of it. Arriving at the Watergate and not knowing where to begin in the city, she befriends the hotel's elderly doorman, Sidney (Newhart), who becomes her guide to the way the political system works, and how to get her legislation... legislated. MPAA Rating: Not Rated. Release Date: July 2nd, 2003. Watch the TRAILER of the MOVIE |
YAY! I can't wait to see it. I've been looking forward to the sequel.
|
I think it will be fun. A nice summer comedy. And I'll see just about anything with a Wilson brother in it.
I like Resse Witherspoon a lot. Unlike so many other actresses, she really seems to have her shit together, ya know? |
I finally watched LB1 this morning! I needed a comedy this weekend so I got it and S.H.Alabama which I liked better (since it was partly filmed around where I live..big houses, lake/sailplane.

I love Legally Blonde. My daughter watches it at least once a week. (She is only five, I don't know if that is good or bad :p )
I know that the screenwriter for the sequel is different. One of the orginal screenwriters was a former blonde sorority girl at James Madison University (Alpha Gamma Delta :D ). And I think that added to the humor. The new screenwriter's name is Kate Kondell, she went to Stanford, but I can't tell if she was ever in a sorority there. Anyone have any idea? |

I am watching it right now! :D
*edited to state the obvious* The first one. |
It doesn't sound very interesting. Don't smack me for saying that, please! :D
|
I finally got around to watching the part where they talk about where it was made. Turns out the houses were in Alabama. They look soo much like the houses in my local historic district and since they filmed the seaplane scene at Wynn Pond, I figured the houses were nearby, lol.

I love Reese (Big ups to TN gals!!) and I hope that this movie doesn't flop. The story just seems so cheesy...well the first one was too, but thats beside the point.
I guess I will watch it, cause I liked the first. But if it sucks, I will ask for my money back!!! |
Luke Wilson is yummy!! :)
I can't wait to see LB2!! :D |
|
**BUMP** :D
|
Ok folks, NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!!
I won't be able to see it until this weekend :( |
Yea!! I can't wait til Saturday (when I'm seeing it)!! I get to drag TKE209 to see it for my birthday!
|
My daughter can't wait to see it. And she knows it opens today. (She is five, I don't know where she learns this stuff:eek: )
But we promised my sister we would wait and see it tomorrow with her. Oh the agony! :( |
i saw it a week ago! you all won't be dissapointed!
|
I just came back from seeing LB2. I loved it!
|
I just got back from seeing it. Don't be mad at me for this, but I really didn't like it. *ducks* I could handle how sorority life was portrayed in the first, but it really annoyed me for some reason in the sequel. Also for those of you who has seen it, did you catch the KKG reference? I was really surprised by that! Oh well. It was kinda cute, but it still hurt my head a little. But, yippee for Luke Wilson! :D
|
I think I'll wait until this one comes to the $2 movie theatre until I see it.
|
Quote:
And I agree, for the most part, on how the sorority was portrayed. ETA: Double YAY for Luke Wilson! What a cutie! |
i caught the KKG reference, but i dind't want to mention it befgore other people had seen it. honestly, the first thing i htought when i heard it was "wow, they mentioned an actual sorority name" the second was "what is GC going to say about this"

While I was sitting in the theater I also thought "What will Kappa's nationals say about this? Did the producers check to make sure? Whoa.." |

Kristin-- This is probably the one I will get. I have always like that one (much better than the solid disk)--- but the thing in the movie just jumped out at me. It kind of looks like BPA's but only half circle--the badge would hang down. I will try to find a picture of it.
thanks!!!!! wendi |
OMG KRISTIN!!!! I want that!!!!! I haven't seen it on Burrpatt. Where can you find it?
|
