Well tonight is our last recruitment/rush event for our Beta Chapter. I think that we will be handing out bids to approximately 7-10 girls. Tomorrow is bid day and they have until Friday at 5:00pm to accept or decline.

Our Alpha Chapter events start next Monday. There are tons of girls signed up to go through formal recruitment at the University of Michigan-Flint. Good luck to Phi Sigma Sigma and Delta Phi Epsilon. Let's work our butts off and have a kick ass RUSH!!!

I'm going to try to get some of the girls to share their rush stories/experiences!!

As of right now it looks like we have 9 pledges for the second pledge class of our Beta Chapter!! Woo hoo!!!

I remember an old thread where a friend of yours wanted to be initiated even though she did not go to your college, but she did tons of stuff with your AOX chapter. Did she get initiated yet, or will she be a part of the Beta chapter? Just wondering.... (It was in the Alumnae Initiates thread here:

Jeni, Ashlee, Cortney, Sarah, Brandy, and Katie have accepted bids.

We are still waiting to hear back from Beth, Joanna, Heather, and Katie (our 9th legacy!)
Unfortunately no she did not become a member of our Beta Chapter. :( We had an active member who was not very nice towards her and my bestfriend decided not to join...such a long story... :( That member has since gone inactive and has fallen off the face of the earth so hopefully my friend will reconsider. :)

Rush for our Alpha Chapter starts tonight. Information Night kicks off Formal Recuitment at the University of Michigan-Flint. I hope a lot of girls come out tonight!

Well Monday was Information Night and there were only about 20 girls that showed up. :( I guess a lot of girls have Monday night classes or they had to work. Tonight is 1st Round so hopefully more girls will show up. :)

Well I just heard that Quota will probably be no more than FOUR. How sad is that? :(

Tonight is Preference Night and tomorrow is Bid Day!!!! :D

I just found out that we extended 18 Preference Night invitations!

Looks like Quota will be higher than what everyone thought!!! YAY!!

I'm kind of pissed right now...
 

I just received an e-mail from one of my sisters about one of the other sororities trying to bring us up on a rush infraction.

Here is the story:
We have two chapters in the same city. We just finished Rush for the Beta Chapter and we now have 9 new pledges for that chapter.

Problem #1: Somebody told a member of another sorority that we were taking rushee's/PNMs from our ALPHA Chapter to the bar with us last night! WRONG...my girls almost always to go a bar to sing kareoke on Wednesday nights and they had planned on taking our most recent PLEDGES from our BETA Chapter with them...not girls currently going through Rush. Before finding out all of the facts everybody started jumping to conclusions and my sorority didn't even go out to the bar last night!

Problem #2:
Girls from our Beta Chapter were told that they could participate in Rush events with our Alpha Chapter if they wanted to help out and see what Rush was like at another school. The other two sororities on campus do the exact same thing and have even done it during this Rush.

Why is everybody getting so bent out of shape about everything? Why can't everyone just get along and have a good time? Rush would run much more smoothly if everyone just worked together!!

Glad quota is up from four :) Hope your pref night goes well. Don't let the rush infraction charges get you down - #1 certainly isn't an infraction since the new members in question don't even go to the same school.

Is AOX a Christian sorority or do you consider yourselves a social sorority? I noticed 18 girls went to pref and only 13 got bids. Did 5 drop out? Maybe you could COB some of them? Congrats on your new members!!!!

We consider ourselves a social sorority.

Unfortunately, a few girls dropped. I know that we lost one and so did Delta Phi Epsilon...two girls were best friends and they wanted to join the same sorority. One received a bid from us and one received a bid from Delta Phi Epsilon...they both decided not to sign and they are going to Rush again next Fall.

I'm sure a couple of girls will be COBed after Rush.
