I saw this on the Alpha Gamma Delta page, and I thought it would be fun to do!
1. College or University 2. ADPi Chapter 3. Collegian or Alumnae 4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held 5. Why you joined ADPi 6. Favorite ADPi memory -------------------------------------- 1. The University of Kansas 2. Tau Chapter 3. Alumnae, May 2002:) 4. Rho Chi, Head Rho Chi, Greek Ambassador, Spirit Chair & Social Chair. 5. I loved ADPi during recruitment because the women were so genuine, and I could truly be myself. I was so comfortable there! 6. I have to pick just one memory? My favorite was Blue and White day my freshman year when all of us received letters from our parents. In our chapter, the class below us started a new tradition this year...they had our parents do the same thing for us right before graduation! It was so amazing. Black Diamond Formal as a senior was also the icing on the cake! Loyally, azureblue Alpha Delta Pi....First. Finest. Forever. |
1. The University of North Alabama
2. Zeta Eta Chapter 3. Collegian 4. none as of right now 5. When i was in the ADPI Room i felt so much more comfortable and that i could be myself. The women were so nice and I wanted to be a part of the strong sisterhood that I saw. 6. Wow....I have so many.......but as of right now i would have to say the recruitment we just had the end of august. it brought us all so much more closer together. :) |
azureblue:
This is a great thread, thanks so much for "borrowing" the idea from the lovely Alpha Gams. College or University-Northeastern Chapter at a large school Collegian or Alumnae -- I'm a proud alumna of ADPi. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held--Assistant Rush and then Rush Chair, Corresponding Secretary, Homecoming Chair, Pride Leader...those are what I remember from my collegiate experience. As an alumna I've served as Recruitment Advisor, ADPi Alumnae Association President, and Panhellenic Representative. Why you joined ADPi -- I loved it from the very first moment I walked into the room the first night of rush. It felt so exciting and peaceful at the same time. The women were incredibly intelligent, funny, motivated, well-traveled, articulate, beautiful, ambitious...everything I admired. Favorite ADPi memory--Practically too many to talk about. I honestly loved chapter meetings, and when I was first initiated, I was in awe of the Seniors and Juniors talking about taking their MCATs, LSATS and GREs. I loved serving as Rush Chair, I was not perfect, I made mistakes in terms of managing my resources correctly, but I did it in a "safe" environment where I was able to learn from what I did. As an alumna I can take my experience and actually help some other woman through the same thing. I loved, loved, loved winning Greek Week my Junior year of college! That is such a fun memory, I had written a lot of our skit, which blew everyone away and we took the Greek Week crown from the sorority who had won it the previous 4 years in a row (and were notorious cheaters)! That was such a fun day! Thanks for this thread! violets P.S. I know I'm vague about the details of my experience (which chapter and what not,) but I had a bit of an identity theft problem a few years ago, so I'm always cautious about the information I give out. I know it's probably silly, but it make me feel a bit better. :) |
Here is mine...........
1. California State University-Sacramento 2. Eta Mu Chapter 3. Collegian 4. Scholarship Chair currently 5. I joined ADPi because I felt at home with them and I could be myself. They were truly warm, geniune and nice. They were "real" They wanted to get to know you and share the wonderful bond of sisterhood with you. They are not only my friends, but are my sisters :) 6. I have so many. One of them was the letter from my mom read to me by my Diamond sister after Initiation. It was very emotional. I still get misty eyed evey time I read it. Another one was on this past Sunday, where we did an Alphie pass. It made us all cry. It made our bond as a chapter even stronger. Ally PS I'll let you know how recruitment is going for us. It ends today :) |
1. Northern Arizona University
2. Epsilon Xi 3. Alum 4. While I was a collegiate I was the Webmaster (3 years), Scholarship Chair (2 years) and Recruitment Information Manager (1 year) 5. Well I did not plan to join a sorority, but my roomate had gone through formal recruitment and had lots of fun. So I decided to look at some of the sororities. Well I went to a karaoke night that adpi was putting on, and fell in love with the girls. They were willing to be themselves and make complete fools of themselves. It was great. Right away I knew I was right at home and 2 days later I recieved a bid. 6. I would have to say my favorite adpi memory was my candle passing. Both my diamond sisters wrote poems for me and read them. I couldnt keep from crying. It also wouldnt have been my chapter if they had not dropped my engagement ring when they tried to put it on the candle. That night reminded me how much I really do love everyone in the chapter so much. Ok...now I am going to start crying thinking about it. edited because it was really dated... |
yay ally i can't wait to hear!

Ally:
Can't wait for an update, I'm sure you guys did beautifully! violets |
The University of West Fl
ZE Alumnae Spring 2002 Asst. MEVP, Asst. Soical Chair, Guard, Scholarship, RIM, Asst. Rush Chair, Pride Leader, Greek Week Chair I joined because I felt so comfortable when I first meet the girls. I knew right when I walked in the room, this is where I belonged and I have made some of my closest friends in ADPI. I love my chapter and miss them. WOW!!! I have so many memories, but my fondest memory would have to be when I meet my alpha mom. I could tell by looking at her that she was what ADPI was all about and I knew I wanted to be just like her and accomplish what she had in such a short time. I love you Bridget...Your the best alpha mom ever!! I have learned so much from ADPI that I will always carry with cherish. ADPi has made me who I am today. Pi Love and Loyally, Lisa |
1. The University of Kansas
2. Tau Chapter 3. Alumnae, May 2001 4. Rho Chi, Website designer 5. My first memory of ADPi was being rushed by two girls, both of whom were wearing these huge engagement rings. It just happened that the two girls who were getting married happened to talk to me that day -- I had never felt so young and immature! My diamond sister rushed me all week and we became pretty close. 6. Some of my favorite memories are just getting ready to go out with my friends on Friday and Saturdays. A bunch of us who were really tight lived in the basement our junior year (one of whom was AzureBlue) which made us even closer! Some of my favorite memories were from Spring Break when 30 of us went to Panama City Beach -- too much to say about it. It was also great being a Rho Chi and seeing some of my favorite PNMs join ADPi! |

ADPi and Panhelleic positions held While active: Activities Chair, Asst Rush Chair, Pledge V-P, Rho Chi. Since then, I've served as our Alumnae Chapter Treasurer (that was pretty bad!) and Chapter Advisor. 5. Why you joined ADPi I was a KKG legacy, and had several Kappa friends (including my high school boyfriend's sister!). I was totally shocked when, the very first time I stepped foot in the ADPi Suite, I knew this was where I belonged! 6. Favorite ADPi memory So many, but one that sticks out is reading the "Loyally" books while preparing the new pledge addendum, while my little sis played the piano! It's a very peaceful moment, and as y'all know, it can be pretty chaotic in a house! That, and being tapped as the first Rho Lambda (Order of the Omega) on campus! Edited to change something that I should have been more honest about from the start. This was one of my first posts, and I really didn't have a grip on GC at the time. |
1. College or University
Oakland University 2. ADPi Chapter Zeta Upsilon 3. Collegian or Alumnae Collegian 4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held Assistant Treasurer, Recording Secretary, Greek Council Rep., and hopefully New Member Coordinator *keeps fingers crossed* 5. Why you joined ADPi I had always heard of the bonds sisters share in a sorority, and I wanted to be a part in it. As soon as I entered ADPi's room, I felt so loved, so close to these women after only a few moments. Never, would I ever have imagined just how strong and amazing those bonds would become. 6. Favorite ADPi memory I have two... the first, was when I was initiated... enough said. :) The second... Skiing with my little Diamond sister, Carrie. Somehow, we skiied off in the wrong direction, away from the ski lifts, and had to WALK UP the hill. After multiple rests, and eating some snow to quench our thirst, we finally made it to the top. She is my best friend, now, and I can't tell you how many times we've thought back to that memory and laughed. |
Southwest Texas State University
Epsilon Zeta Chapter Sophomore I joined ADPi because I knew from my brother that they were respectable girls. I also knew several girls from my high school that were older and they always seemed to be very nice and genuine. My favorite ADPi memory is all of the car trips with my best friends. I hate driving, but when I am with my sisters it makes the time go by so much faster! |

2. Zeta Alpha 3. Collegian 4. I just got initiated in the spring but I am involved in Greek week sports, social comm, extention comm (we are getting another sorority on campus), and lots of things going on 5. I actually ADPi during greek week and I witnessed the greatest bond of sisterhood i had ever scene and i knew i had to be apart of it....I even had to Transfer to this school to join. 6. my favorite memory so far is the first night i moved into the house my room mates and i went to TJ. We danced until the sun came up |
1. College or University:
Valparaiso University 2. ADPi Chapter Eta Psi 3. Collegian or Alumnae Alumna 4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held Recruitment V.P., Pride Leader, and am pursuing some Alumnae Positions. Currently on House Corp. 5. Why you joined ADPi It was a good group of ladies who where in the sorority for the right reasons. It gave me the chance to serve as an officer and create sisterly bonds of friendship. 6. Favorite ADPi memory Road trip to St. Louis for District Workshop from Valparaiso (45 miles SouthEast of Chicago). We were a colony at that time so most of our chapter went to the workshop. It was a great time! On that note, thank you to all the chapters who sent t-shirts in 1998 to us! We really appreciated it! :D |
1. College or University:
Valparaiso University 2. ADPi Chapter Eta Psi 3. Collegian or Alumnae Alumna 4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held Spirit chair, co-music chair, MEVP, Recording secretary, Historian, Pride leader 5. Why you joined ADPi These girls were the absolute sweetest ones around (and they still are!!!) I felt so comfortable from the first day of walking into the chapter room, and I still feel comfortable even after graduating and returning for occasional visits. 6. Favorite ADPi memory The time that I drove around NW Indiana at 2 in the morning with four other sisters. We went and saw the silo that looks like a "beer can", drove near corn fields (where the Children of the Corn were waiting), and enjoyed each other's company. I have many other favorites, but I think that one is the ultimate one! |
scary fields!!!
PolarPi - those cornfields are really scary. I drove out through them with another Sister and we were a little freaked out (and it was DAY time) That's NW Indiana for you :)

2. Gamma Upsilon 3. Collegian 4. Current Positions: Treasurer & Recording Secretary Past Positions: Assistant Treasurer, Assistant RIM, Leadership Chair, Pride Leader, Alpha Committee. 5. I joined ADPi because out of all of the sororities here at UNT, I felt as though ADPi was were I belonged. 6. My favorite ADPi memory was the night I got initiated, the best night ever! |
1. Arizona State University
2. Delta Gamma-University of Arizona (Initiated) 3. Alumna 4. None 5. I was away from home for the first time, my good friend had gone through fall rush, so when I transfered in the spring I decided to rush. I spent the whole night with ADPi. What's funny is I had every intention of going to Chi-O because my friend was one. But I felt so comfortable with the girls and had such a blast with them, that I stayed the whole time. I was offered my bid the next day. 6. This is so embarrassing. I was still an Alpha. My chapter was doing our all house philanthropy, which happened to be called "legendary legs", (briefly, it was a contest between frat boys. We took pictures of their legs, put a table on the mall and people voted by putting money in the box that had the guy's leg picture taped to it. I believe dollars would add points and coins would subtract points). Anyways, we went to a frat to serenade them. Just standing there listening to our Philanthropy chair explain the contest to the guys and what they win. If a guy won, they won a round trip airfare ticket to somewhere (I can't remember where) and they could take one person. Well our Philanthropy chair said "you can take one of your frat brothers" and suddenly I blurt our "or you can take one of us". The guys start laughing, my sisters start laughing and I just want to crawl under a rock and die. (I feel I should mention that the entire time I was staring at this gorgeous frat guy). Even today, years later, I feel like such a dork. |

University of Pittsburgh 2. ADPi Chapter Alpha Iota 3. Collegian or Alumnae Alumnae 4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held None Unforunetly left to soon 5. Why you joined ADPi This is a very itneresting story. When I did my college tour in early 1998 before leaving HS I went to look at University of Pittsburgh. That's when I met Ten (short for Kristen) Anthony. She was one of the tour guides. Now as a tour guide she wasn't wearing any letters saying that she belonged to ADPi but she spoke very freely about Greek Life on campus and I became interested. I went to ADPi and met up with Ten again and this time she was wearing her letters again. Well I was one of 3 that went to Pitt from my HS and didn't really know anyone and had no interest in making friends with my roommate. So I started rush and there was Ten again when I went to ADPi's suite. I was in love with ADPi from the first time stepped foot near their table and met my future sisters. If it wasn't for her I would of never been apart of ADPi and I miss her like you wouldn't believe. I lost contact with her but I'm doing my best to find her again. She is more my sister than anyone would believe. So Violets to Ten and her baby where ever they may be. 6. Favorite ADPi memory This is funny. After an informal meeting my Alpha Class kidnapped our Alpha Mom Amie and we sent the rest of the sisters on a treasure hunt for her. The girls that set it up screwed up the clues and they ended up going up and down Cardiac Hill on Pitts campus twice though they were smart enough to take the Pitt buses up. AND Our one formal Ten and I drug my guy out onto the floor cause he never danced before. Both Ten and I ended up dancing with him at the same time. I never saw that guys face so red in my life. |
1. College or University
University of Central Florida 2. ADPi Chapter Zeta Omega 3. Collegian or Alumnae Collegian...Sophomore 4. ADPi and Panhelleic positions held Corresponding Secretary, Greek Week Chair, Asst. Preference Day Chair, Dance Chairs 5. Why you joined ADPi Cristy Burgess...we danced on our college dance team together (SKD Love). I always admired her, she was a classy, intelligent and fun loving girl. She prefed me on Perfernece Day. Everything she said brought a smile to my heart and a happy tear to my eye. AND all the girls in the chapter. They were all so sweet, and I felt like I was at home. 6. Favorite ADPi memory I have so many! I still have so many more to experience...I can't wait! |
College or University:
University of Tennessee at Martin-Fall 2002 ADPi Chapter: Delta Upsilon Collegian or Alumnae: Collegian Positions Held: Assistant Treasurer Why did you join? I knew from the time I went in on the second night that the only one I wanted was ADPi. I just felt at home as soon as I entered the lodge. Favorite Memory: My Bid Day |
College or University:
Duke University- January 2003 ADPi Chapter: oh yeah Omicron girls! Collegian or Alumnae: Collegian Positions Held: none yet :) Why did you join? I knew a sophomore who was an ADPi (we did an orientation program together) and she is absolutely fabulous (she's now my <> sister actually!)...I knew that ADPi was the place for me on Pref night, our chapter has a tradition that when you sit down your rusher-person gives you a black diamond that has your name on it. It's construction paper but in silver ink, all of the girls who remember you write comments about meeting you, your conversations, etc. etc. When I got my black diamond and saw all of the genuine comments by these WONDERFUL girls, both those I had known and those I met, I knew I belonged there. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to keep the black diamonds (you know the Panhel "gift" rule) and they throw them away after Pref b/c of Panhel rules. I wish I could have mine! Favorite Memory: I'm not sure yet :D I really like just walking around campus and seeing all of my fellow "Shadypi" faces ;) Our chapter doesn't have a house (no greeks at Duke do) but there are 120 of us ADPis walking around (we have 40 a pledge class) and I am bound to see at least 5 a day! |
ADPi from KS!
Hey, I'm an ADPi, Zeta Rho at Vanderbilt. I actually am from Wichita and graduated from East High. I also went to Catholic school until high school, so I know lots of people from Wichita who went to KU. I was wondering who from the '01 class at East(Fall '01 pledge class?) and Kapaun went ADPi...

2. Alpha Psi chapter 3. I'm a sophomore! 4. I am currently the jr. panhellenic delegate 5. I joined because during the big production that is fall rush, I felt that the ADPi's were the only girls that weren't lying to me. They were real and honest and because of that you could really sense what an awesome sisterhood it is. 6. I am going to go with our initiation celebration invite. It was my second date with my current boyfriend (going on 7 months now!) and I also got to buy a really hot black strapless dress for it. It was a blast! |
Valparaiso University
Eta Psi Chapter Collegian- initiated November 2002 Standards and Recording Secretary I joined because they were the most unique sorority on campus. Favorite memory is from formal. If any of you adpi's want to chat, my AIM screen name is Shortloud01. |
1. Bishop's University
2. Eta Tau 3. Collegian 4. none - just joined this past semester 5. I never thought I'd join a sorority... The ADPi's sent me an invitation to a recruitment event, and I went mostly because I had nothing else to do that night. I just clicked with everyone there, and after another event, I knew that it was where I belonged. They're some of the greatest girls I've ever met. 6. initiation... It was so early and I was so exhausted, but it was absolutely beautiful |
1. St. Louis University
2. Eta Nu 3. Collegian 4. None yet 5. The 8 hours spent in a room with some sisters during initiation. Most of us hardly knew eachother, but we had a blast anyway. But the most special moment was actually the ceremony...it was absolutely beautiful; and then of course the celebration afterwards! :D Did any of y'all spend as long as we did during initiation?? It was craaaazy long! |

1. Florida State University
2. Iota 3. Collegian, PC 2002 4. Parent's Weekend chair, Recruitment Skit Set Designer, Recruitment Rho Gamma Room cooridinator 5. Well, I am a double legacy and I have two aunts who are ADPi's and they have all been active alumni, so I have been surrounded by it my whole life. I was sung ADPi songs as lullabys, went to Grand Convention before my first birthday, and knew who Eugenia was before I got to high school even. So there really wasn't much of a choice. 6. Hanging out in one of the seniors' rooms for hours every time we had a ceremony with the same five girls, four of whom were in my recruitment group. We initiated 60 girls last Fall, so it always took forever, but it was fun to sit and chat with everybody. |
Well, we had 53 girls going through, and 4 groups, so that's probably why it took so long....but it was well worth it!

1. University of Nebraska - Lincoln (Go HUSKERS!!)
2. Alpha Epsilon 3. Alumna since May 2002 4. MEVP, Panhellenic Delegate, Pride Leader, Chaplain, Scholarship Chair 5. To meet my sisters! 6. My Alpha Ceremony, before that night I had no idea what it was all about, after that night I never wanted to stop finding out. |
1. University of Nevada Las Vegas
2. Epsilon Rho 3. Collegian 4. Formal Recruitment Chair, RVP and Leadership Chair 5. No matter how nervous I was going to COR events, I always felt so welcome when I got there. (I only wanted ADPi) I am greatful that I met all the women I did!!! 6. The whole day of Bid Day, from being nervous to having fun with the girls before and after knowing that they wanted me!!! I remebered a specific event, they wanted us to keep busy (I know this in retrospect) while they set everything up, so we did a sort of campus tour... but we needed to get from one side of the campus to another fast. So we flagged down a tram (long golf cart) and hopped on... we had to cram all of us in there and hang on. Then plan was we had to walk, so as we drove by (about 100 yards) the building where they were setting up, we tried to hide. (Like anyone couldn't tell) Anyways, we all laughed SO HARD and it was SO MUCH fun!!! |
Bump...Bump...Bump...
Thought there might be someone new who hadn't completed this yet....

William Jewell College
Gamma Nu Collegian Gift Mart (Woot Woot) I joined ADPi because the girls were "real" and a little because my "aunt" is an ADPi. My fav memory is diamond days |
ADPI till I die
School: University of Southern Mississippi
chapter: Eta Zeta Collegian I was initiated in March so I have only held one position to dat: Scholarship chair, as i am currently. I will be slating for EVP, Guard, and NMC soon though I was "rushed" by a girl that was dating one of my now ex-boyfriends frat brothers. Tai, the girl, never talked it up like some girls who have to compensate for their lack of sisterhood do. I just saw it when i saw her relate to the other sisters, myself never planning on joining a sorority. Eventually, I was invited to a COR and next thing I knew, i was being initiated 2 months later. My fondest memories, well, they would haave to be stepping in A Phi A's step show (and winning top sorority step), dancing in DG's Anchor Splash ( we were 80Pi, gotta luv the 80's music), singing "Baby got Pins" to our advisors and seeing the looks on their faces, and the RR after the Recrutiment workshops this summer...LEt's just say, after 12 hours of singing One Blue two blue, you need to rest and just hang out, watching movies and such. I love my sisters!! |
1. Miami University
2. Eta Epsilon 3. collegian 4. pride leader, recording secretary, current EVP 5. I knew some girls there and I felt pretty comfortable 6. looking at the bid list this year and realizing that my rush baby, who I talked to throughout all of recruitment and fell in love with, had just joined ADPi! She is now my little diamond and I couldn't be happier! |
1) California State University, Chico
2) Eta Rho 3) Alumna for many, many years:o I pledged in 1990 - actually, I was in the guinea pig Alpha Class. We were one of six in the nation. (Am I too old to be on the this board;) ?) 4) I was Rush Education VP or whatever we called it then:confused: 5) I fell in love with ADPi because the girls I met were real people, and not characatures of sorority girls. 6) I have so many favorite memories that it's hard to chose one. I pledged when I was a 17 year old freshman who had no idea what she was in for. I spent five years in the chapter in college, then assisted with Rush for a few years after that. I'm now a member of the Washington DC Alumni Association. I guess I am living proof that ADPi is not something that you do, it's something that you are for a lifetime. |
1) California State University, Chico
2) Eta Rho 3) Alumna since 1999 4) None 5) My boyfriend at the time was neighbors to some ADPi's that I thougt they were great! I felt most comfortable there and absolutely loved the girl that rushed me. 6) I have so many favorite memories that I could even begin. I would have to say that the whole 3 years was pretty much the best time of my life. |
1) Texas Tech University
2) Epsilon Epsilon 3) Collegian- Senior 4) Web Master 5) I joined because the girls were down to earth and really sweet. I could see myself being friends with most if not all the girls for many years to come. :) 5) My favorite memory was getting to initiate my best friend/sister-in-law. -Ryan |
