Hi all you lovely GCers. As I've tottaly been addicted to all the other girls rush stories, I thought I'd add mine to the pile. It has been so amazing to hear about the other girls recruitment so I know, a little of what to expect over the next few weeks. I'm rushing at UW-Madison, as a freshman. our chapters are

Tonight is the first night of first rounds. We see skits and then talk with the girls one on one. Because it's "casual" I'm wearing a very cute jean skirt, a red top and amazing brown and black sandles that I love.

I'm so nervous about tonight and when I get nervous I break out in hives, so hopefully I'll calm down enough by the time rounds actually start, or just wear allot to base.

Lastnight was so FUN!

Opps, I sent that last one too soon. Last night was truley amazing. I had so much fun and I loved nearly, every minute of it.

getting ready was great because like 20 girls on my floor are all rushing so we were all doing each others hair and make-up. It was so cute. I saw four houses last night

#1) This house was very pulled toghether all the girls were wearing black and red and seemed sophisticated. Their skit was great, it was the ______Grammies. Very cute and very smooth. They clearly put allot effort into this. However, they didn't seem to be having much fun. Maybe they were just nervous. I talked to two girls I loved and had a great time with, and two girls where it was very forced. I'd like to go back next round here and get a better feel

#2) I loved this house. I walked in and felt like I was home. These girls were so down to earth and sweet. I had real conversations about my professors and who I should take next semester. Or how to deal with my anti social room mate. I felt like they were already my big sisters giving me advice, it was awsome. The skit was about the "seceret garden" and the girls were tottaly into it, they seemed to be having so much fun. I deffinetly like this house, and really want to come back.

#3) I was not a fan of this house. They double rushed us which was uncomfortable. There skit was kinda messy and overall it seemed like they hadn't put much effort at all into recruitment. I just didn't click here at all. Plus the fact that this house is three times as much as any other on campus

#4) This was the most pulled together and smoothest house. You can tottaly tell that they put allot of effort into recruitment. The skit was great, they did _____ through the ages. overall theme was ______ cabanna complete with plam trees, and flowers everywhere. I liked two of the girls I talked to a whole bunch. One of the girls kept talking about what a "party" house this was, and how they had a wild reputation. I wasn't to thrilled by that but, I'd still like to come back and get to know mor girls.

Last night was the best and I can't wait for more parties today!

Wow.......I cannot believe that girl referred to her house as a "party" house. That's wacko!

Sorry for the late post, my server was down.
So last night was such a blast. We went to three houses and had a break in the middle.
Last night we went to

Kappa Alpha Theta
Alpha Chi O

#5) My aunts were both presidents of this chapter a number of years ago, so right of I wanted to like this house. The skit was cute but not super original it was a spin on American Idol. Decorations in the house were great. I had some awsome conversations with the girls in the house. They tried to talk about things other then rush but it felt strange. I had a really great converstaion with one of the girls, so that was super positive. Overall though this house lacked energy. But I'd like to come back and get to know more girls.

#6) I was no a big fan of this house at all. First of they don't have an acctual house. And my Rho Chi said they got it taken away for doing something illegal. (yikes). They had like NO spirit at all, they almost seemed irritated to have to go through recruitment. Overall I got the same sense at this house that I did at #3. It's not one of my favorites.

We took a break here and got Ice Cream and mexican food. It was nice to take a break because we were all getting super tired. It was also nice to chat with my Rho Chis and the other girls in our group about how everyhting is going.

#7) I absolutly loved this house, I think it's my favortie I've seen overall. The theme was candy land and the girls were having so much fun doing the skit even though it was there fourth time that evening. They seemed to genuily like going through rush. I talked with allot diffrent girls and each one was amazing. When the next girl would come up to talk I honestly didn't want the previous girl to leave. I can deffinetly see my self in this house, and I really hope they inviete me back.

I am just loving recruitment but also gettting a little nervous about second rounds. I feel so close to some of the houses that I know I would be hurt. I know that all will turn out for the best though.

Thanks for all the positive encouragment and such. As for the chapter without a house. Well, I really didn't feel a connection with the girls in the first place, so that fact that they may or maynot have been involved in something innappropriet, didn't really sway me one way or the other. I understand that my Rho Chis are supposed to be impartial and on everything else they have. It was not my Rho Chi who brought up why they lost the house, another girl in my rush groups older sister was at this school when they "lost" their house. My Rho Chi said that is the rumor on campus, but no one is certain of what happened. Sorry I didn't clarify that better in my first post. I tottaly understand that a Rho Chi is supposed to be impartial and overall my Rho Chis have been absolutly incredible. Tonight I see my last four houses!

HI ya'll. Sorry It took me so long to post. Part of rush for me, has been that I never have time to do all my school work. So I've been burried in my books for the last few hours.
Last night was great, but I was really tired by the last few houses.

Last night I went to
tri delt
Chi O
Pi Phi
Alpha Phi

I wore a red cotton sundress and a white cardigan. I guess I felt a little over dressed because almost all the ohter girls were in jeans. But my cousin who was an ADPi picked out my clothes and I went with her sugestions.

#8) This house was very pretty. Right on the water, with a big florida room. The girls were all very sweet but not terribly friendly. They as a whole I just didn't click here. The skit was a play on TRL, and well though out but it didn't, stand out from any othe skit.

#9) This house had allot of diverse girls. They did a Brady bunch skit and it was adorable. Really cheesy but in it's own way very cute. I was double rushed here which I find really umcomfotable. That's probebly why I didn't connect with these girls because, I never really got to talk with them. They were tottaly sweet but not super into greek life.

#10) This was a great house. They had a Movie theme and the skit was soooo good. You could tottaly tell that they put some serious effort into putting it together. More then anything it was clear that these girls were having a great time together and really liked each other. I was only rushed by one girl her for the whole time. However, she was really sweet and easy to talk to. but near the end we were talking about random stuff, like resturants and movies. I'd deffinetly like to go back here and talk with more of the girls to get a better feel for the house.

#11) I didn't get a good vibe from this house. The skit was okay and my converstaions were deffinetly not anything deep or connected. They kept talking about how much fun they have, and how much they party, which makes me think that they really don't, like they were over-compensating. Some other girls really liked this house, which makes clearer how certain houses are tottaly ment for certain girls.

Then we came back and ranked hour houses. Mine were as follows

I find out about where I'm going on Tuesday. When that happenes I'll tell you which house was which number. and we can start all new.

You mean that I have to wait until Tuesday for an update? I can't stand the anticipation!!! I hope that you get what you want. :)

If I had to wait till Tuesday -- Jeepers! I think it is so fun to read the different Wisconsin rush threads right now -- y'all sound like you are having good rush times and have good attitudes to boot! I know it will be hard to wait till Tuesday to see how y'all fared!!

How great was tonight!!! I got invieted back to my top seven and so I was really excited.

Tongiht I went to four of the houses. I was a little sad because I couldn't be with my Rho Chis who I LOVE so much. They are like my big sisters and I missed being with them tonight.

#1) This was a house that I was intrested in but not crazy about first round. I was happy to go back and get a better feel for the girls and the house. We made cards for a childrens hospital. And this round we got to take tours of all the houses. Their house was very nice but not unbelivable. I got to talk with so many girls and liked them all but didn't feel I really clicked here that well. I think they are sweet and tottaly were the right house for other girls but just maybe not me.

#2) This house was okay. They were my seventh choice going in and I see why. These girls just lacked passion about anything. Every question I asked about social, sisterhood, philanthropy, they just seemed kinda un-intreseted. The craft here was super cute. We made fleece tie blankets for a childrens hospital and it was really fun. Plus we talked about books here, which I thought was kinda cool. I don't really think I'll pref this house either.

#3) How much do I love this house. This was sooo great. It was m fifth choice from 1st rounds but I just felt so at home here. Each girl that I talked to here seemed so real. The house it-self is beautiful, and so livable. I connected well with almost all the girls. Plus the girls I talked to first rounds tottaly came up to see how my weekend went. I will deffinetly pref this house. I honestly could a part of this house.

#4) This was a beautiful house. Right on the lake, big dock, and lots of window rooms. However I felt really uncomfortable here. I don't know what exactly it was but I just felt strange. I guess you should trust your gut. Girls made some comments about extending me a bid and that was tottaly wronge. I told my Rho Chis and everything, I didn't mind, it was kinda flattering, but that was still really odd.

I get to see three more house tomorrow! I'm so pumped for the next round of what's to come. I'm off to sleep and spend some quality time with my text books. Woo Hoo!!

Good luck, Badger! Your comments have been quite interesting to read. It sounds like you're looking at everyone very seriously and thinking about how you would fit there. That's great! I hope things keep going well for you. Can't wait to hear about the rest of your week!

Ooh, I'm so excited Alpha Chi is still a consideration! Have fun at all the round 2 parties! Can't wait to hear more! Some of these houses sound beautiful! We have old yucky dorm "halls" at my school!

Second parties are so great. I love being able to talk with the girls longer and really feel that I get to know them more. I saw my top three houses from last round, yesterday night. Sadly one of my favorite girls in our rush group just dropped out of no where. Our rush group was pretty close so it's really sad to have one of the girls gone.

#5) This house was my number one pick from last rounds so I had high expectations for this house. I was so dissapointed to have the expereince I did. First off we were double rushed, which I don't like because I feel I never really get to know anyone that well. But the other girl and I did our best. The girls we talked to were all sweet but just like we were in first rounds. Nothing deeper then "what's your major" or "why are you rushing". I was willing to over look allot of issuse with the house, because I really wanted to like them so much. But the clinche for we is when we had talked to three girls, the first girl came up and introduced her-self to us like she'd never met us. When we told her we talked to her first she said "oh, I can never rember if I met people here, or talked to them in class." the girl met us 20 minutes ago. I did not rank this house in my top three. It was just a gut feeling that they wern't right for me anymore.

#6) This house was adorable. I wasn't sure how I felt about them going in but at the end I knew, I liked it. They had a really cute theme about ______ achino, like a mocha cafe kinda thing. The went all out, decorations, clothes, food, all of it. Each girl I talked to was so sweet, and we talked about really different things. Ice cream, why we hate cleaning the bath room, why fall rush is so much fun, and of course philanthropy. There house is unbelivably beautiful. So pretty and so many girls can live in at one time. I just felt so comfortable here and I'd really like to go back for pref night. However, this is like everyother girls dream house on this campus. I liked it allot but girls are like obsessed with this house, so I'm alittle nervouse about getting asked back.

#7) YAY! My second choice from last round, and I still like it soo well. They had a jungle theme and it was pretty cute. These girls honestly were super diverse in personality and looks. They were majoring in everything from Pre-Med to Fashion merchandising. Girls had so much energy and were so excited to be at rush and in this house. I talked about regular topics as well. trading spaces, harry potter, studying abroad, stupid freshman things we had both done, and why we love Martha Stewart. I can really see my self at this house. The girls were so fun, but so real.

Now we went back to a class room, and our Rho Chis (the best ever) bought us pizza and pop for a suprise! The we ranked the houses again 1-11. My top three was easy. I knew I liked them all and my PX said that the order of the three didn't matter as long as they were my top ones.

Now I just have to wait until tomorrow at 5 when I find out my three for pref night. It's so fun, but so nerve racking. I just really hope I get the right house for me. and that I get the "feeling" that these girls keep talking about so that I know what house is right.
